I looked up at Scarlet from where I lay, she looked so scared, frightening, but scared. I sat up and hugged her tight. "Scarlet," I said in a soothing voice, "its ok Scarlet, no one is going to hurt you right now, we're safe." I ended my embrass and held her at arms length, "Scarlet, are you feeling better now?" Mabey that was too much of a reaction like a boyfriend or a fiansai, or a husband, but she was terrified, I couldn't stop it, she needed me.

"Scarlet, don't be ashamed of what you are, if you don't embrace yourself you will never know your true power." I turned Scarlet gently to face me, "You don't have to drink from humans, I don't, infact, im a druid and I have come to live with drinking from animals, just because you don't like it doesnt mean you just can't, you nearly died today because of that." I felt a little like I was scolding her, and like I was gently warning her, I couldn't decide what it realy was.

I had gotten to a safe place, and tended to my ownm wounds Soon, I had Charlie, my assistant feeling good, and stabilized, and my dead mayor in a body bag in the mini morgue down the stairs of the hideout. I limp out into the night, and when I see two beings standing in front of me. I shudder at the fangs protrudiong from their mouths. "Hello, human." Ey! I was a demon, maybe I would have to teach them that.

"Hey, that would be demon, to you! A fox demon! But, I am not showing you, instead, you will be dead here soon." They snicker and start coming closer. I think of ways to kill a vampire. Not many. Would them biting me do anyt5hing? I wouldn't know. Maybe.... They lunge at me, and I roll to safety, cringing at the gunshot in my leg. "Argh!" I scream as they catch my leg with their hands. I grab my gun and start shooting. I unload a clip, with little result. "Someone! Help!" I scream off into the distanc. "Vampires! They are trying to-" My voice cuts off as they bit into my neck. I scream at the fear, but instead of pain, a feeling of morbidity hits my throat. As the blood is being drained, my body starts to feel drained. "He-l-p- he-h-e-l-l-p." I start to black out.

I look at the energy rifle (This is the year 3000 right?) in front of me. Energy could kill them. I think. I grab it and fire at them They hiss as they run away, one carrying the other. I limp back to my hideout. Ow.

I wake with a strat, then start screaming. My body burned. I let my wide eys fall on Scarlet. "What are you doing to me?" My body felt like it was on fire. My fists were in the air about me. I was starting to let my illusion down, but then I remember it, and quickly get it back up. I start to surpress the pain, and then stand. "Oh, sorry. The pain, it was unbearable. I wonder how much blood they took..." At that, I slump down. I suddenly remember Charlie. "Did you find the other guy? He had a gunshot wound to the kidney."

"Thats too bad. I have to find him, he is in a bad condition, and the body, I need that thing!" I suddenly realize what she had said. "No, I don't think that can happen. The venom you carry, it has no effect upon us demons- well, at least my kind of demon. I will forever be what I am. I have been researching these last few weeks. And doing my job. Wait, how many days have I been out?" I check the date. "Crap!" I look around, and spot a gun. I grab it, then chuck it. I jump from the window and run to my house. I know I had a better suited gun there. I glance back for Scarlet, making sure she was following. She was. I make a turn, and then remember where I wanted to go. I find my way back to the hideout, and that energy rifle I now would use as my weapon of choice. I find it, and then make sure it still worked, and head in. I find Charlie, in worse condition than I left him, he was alive, and he had been raveged by something, but he was okay. I check the morgue and then sit down, the exercise making me dizzy. I look for Scarlet. Did she follow? "Scarlet? Tell me you followed me."

My leg was not doing any better, I limped slightly as I walked through the city, Scarlet had some explaining to do, and she needed to get somethings through her thick head. She is the stubborness person I had ever known, god I loved her. I grumbled as I turned the corner and found myself faced with two government feds. I sighed and raised my hands into the air, making my limp obvious, they moved slowly forward , that's when I lowered my hands onto their forwards, and blew their brains out. No love for the government.

"Sorry about the mess, they 'cornered' me." So, who where you chasing? Don't tell me you wheren't I saw him." I leaned on my gun for support of my left side and took a deep breath. I was tired and not in the mood for joking.

I shook my head ruefully, "Oh you know me so well, except for the pain part, my leg doesn't hurt as much as it just can't hold my weight yet. So, you going to tell me who that was or will I have to track him down? I will do it if you force me to."
