Terrie blinked in suprise. Emris had no other close friends? She'd noticed he didn't go over to others much, but she'd thought it was because of the winter coming, and herself.
"What do you mean, 'like this?' Is he usually different?" She looked curiously at Yuna.

Stealing a piece of the bread Yuna began to slowly smear the honey over it. "Well...yes." Yuna blinked at Terrie and gave a soft smile before looking back down to her piece of bread, "Usually he's much more of a reclusive bookworm. And his smile...it seems to be so much warmer when he's around you, Terrie."

Terrie stayed silent as she thought. She remembered Emris saying he was a bit of a recluse, but she hadn't known how much. She giggled girlishly about his smile. "He does have a lovely smile." Her face softened in pleasure. Had she really help Emris gain a warmer smile?! The thought was amazing to think.
"Well, I've gained a lot from him too. It's only been just over a month or so... but I do like being here with him. I think.... I've grown rather attatched to him. I'm not sure about his feelings though." She gasped and blushed slightly, raising her hand to her mouth in embarassment. Why was she saying so much, telling Yuna but not even Emris?

Yuna giggled and grinned widely at her success in revealing Terrie's feelings. "That's great!" She paused and gently patted Terrie's shoulder, "Then you should ask him!" Another nod, "I mean if you don't ask you may never know right?"
The door opened and Yuna cut off from saying anything more as her father and Emris came in. "We're back." Commented Xennek shaking more snow from his fur after dropping in a load of kindling. "Bloody cold outside..."
Emris chuckled and dropped his load as well before looking at Terrie and Yuna, "Xennek found some hares so I hope some stew sounds good to you two." Odd...somehow it felt as if he'd missed something important just now.

"I don't know if I can..." She muttered, jumping a little when the males came in. "Fine is stew!" She said quickly, spinnning and focusing intently on cutting the bread into perfect slices even though her hands shook slightly. "Warm you two back up after that treck."

Yuna covered her mouth to stop the giggles that threatened to spill out at Terrie's reaction to the males entrance. She moved and poked her father for the meat so she could get to fixing it up, "If you boys would like Terrie and I can handle the kitchen work..."
Xennek shrugged, "Sounds fine by me." He looked at Emris and smirked, "Ye alright with lettin' them have full range in 'ere?" He asked grinning between Emris and the two lasses.
Emris chuckled softly, "I trust Yuna more than you would think." He grinned and tugged on his cousin's arm, "We'll go get some vegetables from the cellar." The foxtaur started walking with his tail brushing over Terrie's as he walked past her.

Terrie glanced at Yuna's giggling with an embarassed smile. "Perhaps you can give me a few cooking pointers." She'd learned a lot from being here with Emris, but still had a ways to go.
A pleasant shiver crept up her back feeling their tails touch, and she thought again about the news she needed to tell him about. When would she get the chance, and the guts again?
"So. Hare stew." She mused, picking up one of the carcasses and cleaning it. "Do you like it made any special way Yuna?"

"A few cooking pointers?" Yuna nodded brightly, "Sure...and umm I like it made in the way that doesn't kill the meat." She giggled, "I never could understand how some taurs like their meat burned to the extreme...and less onions with more carrot pieces sounds good." She paused hoping that Emris would have some decent vegetables to bring them.
The teen paused in her cleaning and glanced up at Terrie, "What about you Terrie, what do you like?"

Terrie smiled and nodded as Yuna described what she liked, pausing when the question was returned to her. The first thing to pop into her head was to say Emris and she fought to stifle a giggle. "Well, I'm not sure. Emris has made it only once or twice since I've been here." She started cleaning another body as she mused.
"I don't like the meat burned either. Maybe... a bit of potato would be nice in it. In small chunks." She looked at the black foxtaur and raised an eyebrow in question. Did that sound good to her?

Yuna nodded at Terrie before she began to skillfully cut at the meat with a knife, "Of course!" She giggled, "Potato is one of the best things to use in stew...I can't believe I forgot that." She smiled warmly, "Are you sure you're not the teacher here, Terrie?" She joked swishing her tail happily as she worked with the hare. Knowing that the males would be back up with the vegetables soon made her work faster.

Terrie laughed as she pulled out a cooking pot to boil the stew in. "I'm pretty sure I'm not. Although, I can show you one thing..." After putting some water into the pot, she searched the small egg storage shelf and grabbed two eggs. "A long time ago, someone told me about putting egg into the broth. It's good for you and gives the broth an underlying flavor but not strong enough to overtake the main taste. Put it in before everything else to let the eggy taste fade a bit."

Yuna watched Terrie and nodded with alertness, "That sounds like a really good idea." She whispered excitedly before giggling, "Terrie together you and I will knock those two of their feet by making the best stew in the Isles!" The foxtaur nearly jumped for joy and then jumped as hands grabbed her. "Eep!"
"Jumpy aren't ya?" Joked Xennek as he let go of his daughter to put down the load of vegetables that he had helped carry up to the kitchen. He grinned a bit apologetically as Yuna glared at him. "We brought up carrots, potatoes, anything we could grab really." He chuckled as Emris came in behind him.
"Yeah." Replied Emris with a grin as he set down his part of the load, "If Xennek wasn't such a lazy bum we'd of found more faster." He joked dodging the playful punch from his cousin.

Terrie covered a giggle with her hand, watching the exchange between father and daughter. Her eyes brightened at all the veggies and she grabbed the potatos and started cutting. "These will do just fine." She said, smiling at Emris.
Her smile became gentler and her eyes dreamy as she watched Emris interact with his cousin. He was light and playful. It was wonderful to watch him like that. Her stress about her news for him began to melt a little around the edges.

Yuna softly laughed before she grabbed at a couple of carrots, "I'll get to chopping these up." She stated putting them down on the table in front of her. "And my father...can cut the onions." She laughed as Xennek made a face but still he obliged and started to chop away at the tear jerking thing.
Emris chuckled before moving over to Terrie, "Mind if I help you?" He asked softly before picking up a potato and a knife to peel with.

Smirking at Xennek, she turned and smiled up at Emris at his offer. "Not at all." She said cheerily, her arm brushing against his playfully.
"Should we have anything else with this, or will the stew be enough?"
