Rhaim heard both Tenma and Tairu's pleas for him to hurry up with the statue and eventually even felt the girl tugging to help him move it. With the fight behind him clearly winding down, the boy had every intent to get out of the area before any of them realised what they were doing. The Nara still had no clue that anyone one outside of the three academy students were working to rid the area of the statue. The gritted his teeth as he kicked his legs back underneath himself and pushed straight up on the statue to get it off his cheat and aide Tenma in carrying it out. Since she already had half of the thing fairly securely held up if he failed to lift his end he'd be the laughing stock of the clan. Even more so than before. Though it was unlikely that anything could over shadow how poorly he had done on the written exam.

((And again.))

The guard at first watched the approaching two children with suspicion, but when the girl mentioned her name was Sarutobi, the Senju's stiff posture slightly relaxed, and he nodded, and then in turn to his partner. Ah yes...the program that Senju Zephyr had begun, and that Senju Amerikasugi, the prince's grandfather, had continued in honor of his missing grandson. Senju Amerikasugi may not have been very happy with the then not even mid-year heir's decision to claim his Sennin privileges... It was a quiet sort of love, that only required the slightest bit of insight to see, but one that Zephyr had refused to acknowledge back then and still does now.

"Hai, Sarutobi-han." He addressed the girl. "We'll open the gates." And signaling to his partner, they took the great brass knockers of the gate (rings that were suspended, bitten upon, by metal lion heads) and the great crimson gates - the sun glinting proudly on the brass studs - were thrown open once more.

Tairu followed behind Rhaim and Tenma as they carried the golden statue through the Senju Halls. How on earth are we going to get past the gates? Tairu wondered since Zephyr-sama had fallen into that trap. Earlier Zephyr had gotten the gates open, but now there was no such distraction at least of which Tairu knew about.

As the trio walked towards their exit Tairu noticed that the gates were open for some strange reason. As he neared the now open gates Tairu could see that the guards were distracted by a young girl and boy. "Rhaim, Tenma, now is our chance to escape." he whispered. At this time Tairu decided to help with carrying the statue through the guard gate since they needed to move quickly and only had one shot at it.

Rhaim proceeded out of the room that they had stolen the statue from and didn't dare to look back. As far as he was concerned there was no advantage in seeing what sort of plan or pursuit the brawling Senju were enacting towards the children. He wasn't aware that they had simply been allowed to escape or that there was a secret passage under the place where the statue had sat. What he was aware of was the fact that he was in no way hidden from the sight of the guards. His feet pounded along on the ground in an attempt to keep rythem with Tenma to make their movement easier. He was hardly certain of which direction the main gate was until he noticed Tairu point it out. At the same time he felt the other boy take hold of the statue from Tenma to continue running. Hopefully she would think of something to do to stall the guards in case the folks at the main entrance were not a distraction enough. His hands gripped the item tighter as he made every effort to not let Tairu's efforts in carrying it go to waste.

Kurenai watched excitedly as the gates peeled back to reveal the huge estate held within the walls. "Wow, it's so big!" Kurenai stated in awe as her eyes surveyed the estate beyond the gate. I can't believe we are going to live here! she thought with glee. Kurenai was overwhelmed with happiness and sudden wave of exhaustion. Kurenai had traveled far and now she had a place that would be called home, at least for a little while. She now felt the exhaustion caused by that journey because the thought of being able to rest entered her mind.

"Um one more thing, can you tell me where I have to go?" she asked the guard.

Tairu decided that it was now or never. "Let's just make a run for it." He said to the group as he tried to quicken the trio's pace. There was only one guard and it wasn't that far to reach the goal point. Knowing this, Tairu held on tight to statue as they passed through the gate. Tairu knew the guard was going to see them but hopefully his present occupation and the sheer shock of the sight passing before him would slow his reaction. With that hope deep in his mind Tairu pushed past the gate and made his way down the winding mountain path. C'mon we can do this! thought as self encouragement. As they walked Tairu held on tight to the statue.

"Certainly." Said the guard. "Head in along the main path, the main house is the furthest one in."

Meanwhile, Haru inched along the bushes, wondering to himself why did he even have to hide in his own home anyways... Right, right. His uncle's brilliant request. So he just have to help those kids out? But what are they going to do with the revered Elder Senju Amerikasugi's statue? And he was rather wary, too, how...cheerfully happy his uncle was...didn't Hyuuga say something back there? But he didn't exactly hear, embroiled in the fistfight with his uncle...

Naturally, because he was Senju, he had to do things the more disastrous way.

Haru stabbed his hands into the ground, and pulled out a sizable chunk of the rock. It's all right, the Fuuin around will patch the place up later... And with that thought in mind, Haru sent the boulder flying into the air, before tearing out another chunk and sent it flying, which collided and sent a rain of rocky fragments on the poor guards on the other side of the gate... The sudden cry of alarm made a happy smile of satisfaction stretch over his face, and with that, Haru snuck away... But it was enough.

He had provided the distraction necessary.

((*gasp* One of Zephyr's posts disappeared!?

*sigh* Well, Saito...yeah. I attached it to this recovered post, but, put in training every time. In case disasters like this ever happen again...))

Quote:
Saito looks about, not seeing much anymore as Yokou descended and shrugged. Apparantly his sensei had a deep-seated hatred for rats. Saito didn't care. They were creatures who had to surivive. No, Saito wasn't some sort of tree-hugger, but then-- he didn't care. Not only he had no idea what was going once more, he felt this was going to prolong and progress he had hoped to achieve.

No books, no secret library.

Saito flailed his arms about, if this would help him to get out of this miserable place. This morning he was looking at joining the academy, now he was in a noble family's basement, lost, hopeless-- and apparently he was a love child now too~

He picked up the rod, loosely swinging about. He stopped for a moment, hearing, hoping he'd catch the stupid rodent...

Suddenly as he thought he heard movement, he swung violently, gasping as he did.

Fortunately, she had managed to force a tumble while the last vestiges of light was disappearing, and landed gracefully beside the two on her feet. For a long moment, if they had been able to see, Yokou, still crouching, looked with worry upwards at the slight crack of light peeping from the fallen column's outward-curving side...

The other two would notice that she had apparently tried to chakra climb, judging from the sudden flare of blue chakra in the darkness. But, it proved that the sides of the wall was by far too slippery...no! That was not it! Was that...? Her hand felt at the cellar's walls, and groaned when she realized they were tree roots.

Trees grown by Senju.

Trees grown by chakra.

...

That means-...

"There better be another way out!!!"

Zephyr did his best to ignore it as Yokou voiced her first complaint. They can figure out how this damned cellar got here later. He grabbed an iron rod (why are they even here!? - but, no matter...) and began swinging wildly at the glowing red eyes in the darkness. Oh, just wait until he tells Moku this, that there's a battle harder than paperwork.

And that is, defeating rodents in pure unadulterated darkness.

Oh the joy.

Saito awkwardly felt whirring as he could clearly hear the rapid swinging of his mentor. He moved back, feeling as if it came close enough he'd be blown away. Saito suddenly turned, gasping, swinging....

He could've sworn it touched his foot. These things... This wasn't good. Saito sighed, looking down, still all darkness. He had made no contact. Apparantly Zephyr's hearing was better than a bat, that or he was simply swinging and hoping he'd hit something. Saito would pass on the idea, he wasn't physically capable of swinging such a dense object so wildly.

He swong again, holding his breath. This time his eyes widened as he swong too hard and turned, almost falling on his back. No, this wasn't working. Saito moved to his knees, slowly moving the iron rod against the ground. You-- You things! Wasting his time. He wished these rats were books...

Zephyr smirked, with satisfaction, as he felt his bat connect with something solid. He broke the rat's skull cleanly. Saito was wrong, in a manner of thinking: Zephyr's hearing wasn't "better than a bat", it was beyond a bat's. That, you get used to...you really do, upon years and years in ANBU service and learning to listen for the barest breath of air...a bit paranoid a job really, to suspect an enemy's presence when it might be just a simple gust of wind... He didn't even realize that they weren't in complete darkness anymore, thanks to Yokou constantly releasing chakra until visibility - and, if he had time to suspect - to send the little critters flying far, far, away from her self...

BONG.

He jabbed another with deadly accuracy in the stomach. Yes, yes...they would be victorious...very soon... And that was when a little gray rat, jumping onto the rod, with a hiss, bit into his finger... There was a long silence, a painful pause, and then a wounded cry. He began shaking his hand, dropping the pole - the baby rat still attached to it - and...

"I-it...it BIT me!!!!"

There was a resounding crash, and the rat was sent flying to the opposite wall. However, that had little to do with the horrified wail that came afterwards: "Nooooooooo-ooo-ooo! Oh kami, it has r-r-r-abies, don't it!? I don't wanna die!" He panicked, but then deciding doing a good deed was one way to end a long life-... He told this to Yokou, with somewhat forced calm (and big, big teary eyes).

"W-we...must...eliminate the rats! Eliminate! For the good of the world!"

Zephyr: +6 for...encouragement? In a way. V_V''

Saito heard his mentor scream and looked in the general direction. God. They certainly did not have rabies. The Yakedo sighed, his arms hanging. He really needed to get out of here. He fanned himself for a moment, hearing random cracks of rat's bodies being hurled about by the Hokage. He looked down, suddenly swinging as hard his little body would allow~

There was a noise as his rod met with flesh. Oh... He closed his eyes. Ew-- He hit it hard. He hit it!!! Saito made a rather happy-go-lucky face as he joyfully let the rod hang from his fingertips. Sucess! So he had disposed of one, and he could only imagine what his sensei had managed.

He gasped, raising the rod in the air once more. These creatures were in his way of gaining knowledge! Well-- them not really. But the quicker he managed to take care of the critter, the quicker he would get to leave.

Rhaim was somewhat suprised at the fact that he was able to keep up with Tairu's pace and maintain control of the statue. He was even more suprised at how well he was able to be suprised considering the current situation that he was in. Somehow he was able to still process his surroundings while so much was going on that he wasn't ready for. In actuality it wasn't something new that the boy was doing but rather the first time that he realised that he was doing. Curiously all of his thinking did not keep him from noticing the open gateway in the same moment as Tairu and formulating the same plan. Though in reality it was more of a mad rush and less of any sort of planned action.

The boys' feet continued to carry his and the statues weight across the Senju compound, which still for some reason was not up in arms yet. For being such a secure ninja village it sure did appear as if a couple of frantic Academy students could get away with alot. Still making mental notes of everything around him, the Nara child drove himself onwards to the opening in the gate caused by the newcomers.

However it appeared that the childs' luck was in no way going to change just because he was so close to the end. A small crack in the ground found its way into his shoe and Rhaim went tumbling down to his face with the statue launching from his grasp.
