It depends on the mood of the portion of the band present on which bus (our band requires at least two buses to transport everyone), but usually there's a little sing-a-long to someone's iPod or iRiver; Queen being the most popular choice by far.
If the trumpets and trombones are packed on one bus, usually there are tons of dirty jokes involved, as well as blaring trumpets in other peoples' ears and poking people in the back of the head with a 'bone slide.
The woodwinds are pretty mellow; so all they do is 'talk.' rolleyes

We usually sing random songs from video games, One Winged Angel, or any other acapella, and of course the field show, or just sit and take pics of everyone with all the cameras on the bus, listen to music, chat, sleep, etc.

Taking snapshots of people who fall asleep on the bus, listening to music, writing in journal, poking Michael, poking Smithers, running up and down aisle like the crazed monkey maniacs that we are, hiding under seats at the frankly disturbing parts in movies (WHO picks these movies, I have no clue)
Smithers: Ne touche pas le pain. Ne touche pas le pain. Merci pour pas toucher le pain. Voulez-vous le pain?
And then Smithers (who by the way is our conductor) buys this hilarious hat at some gift shop and wears it while we're playing in a competition... the judges were like, WTH?

froggyfluf we play mafia, listen to music, and play some cards (presidents, durac, ers), but mostly just speak mouth words and eat pixi stix aka "band crack" xd Ah, the band crack... we discovered that at a pep band thingy for the Varsity football. People were throwing them at each other. It was scary, because all the clarinets were sugar high. I've only been on the band bus like three or four times (stupid junior high-ness) but last time we were on i watched these ninth graders sing '100 bottles of coke on the wall' and another one kept looking out the window and screaming 'That's the car I want! See that, that one's my car!' Thos are our bus rides...

I usually space out on the bus or quietly sing to myself while drawing.
The best part of the band trip is when we arrive at our destination and have to change into our uniforms, because then I get to yell "Naked Time!"

Ah... what is there NOT to do on a band bus? I mean, there's taking pictures, singing our theme songs (I have two, "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "I wanna be sedated."), and making fun of the couple that always seems to get caught making out.
