Ho, man, have I got a battle field for you guys.

So, Daveshan, who makes awesome Motivational posters for Katisa everytime they come out with a lesson, made a GREAT one for episode nine, about the Cave of Two Lovers.

As you can imagine, this attracted much attention. Of both sorts. Go figure.

Our culprits?

I'm currently in a debate with Swan-Swan, and back in the ring with DKC. Which aggrevates me to no end.

There is way too much to outline here, but you guys can go see for yourselves. The comments are about 5 pages, but there's a lot going on in there.

Let me just say that

1. SwanSwan, I have noticed, comments on our stuff because, apparently, he 'likes to stir things up,' as he put it. I've seen him other places, especially Green's work, saying stupid things to put down her speculations, and even this is one I saw:
"This is what I don't like about Zutara. It wastes such creative and talented artists on drawing it."
That was on one of her Zutara drawings...

But anyway, he's just a jerk, I've come to that conclusion. I mean, Spootay's worse, but at least she doesn't come into OUR stuff and make snarky remarks in the comments, you know?

Even Mizsweet one time, in Green's journal when he did this, let loose on him, asking him why he constantly sees the need to come and try to disporve everything, which most of the time even, makes himself sound ridiculous.

2. I cannot STAND talking to DKC. If Swan Swan is a jerk, I don't even know what DKC is.

Basically his deal is that he has this high horse about how he studies analyzation of TV shows, movies, stories, and it seems he can't make a single post without reminding me of it or even putting me down for basically being less educated than him and supposedly breaking EVERY rule of story analyzation.

He was ragging on us. Saying that we bash more...Get this...Because there's MORE of us. "Simple Math," he says. Even after he preaches about bashing, and I tell him that we are not the ones that bash more, by a long shot, He turns around at one of my arguments and says:

"That shows just how much is inside your head."

Hypocrite, much?

The main thing he's on my case now about, is the RULES of interpertation that he apparently studies and knows ALL about, as he never fails to miss a chance to say. And my high school level english class just simply can't compare to his knowledge.

I mean, I think I posted about my last go-about with him in here earlier, and back then he was accusing me of completely missing the point that he was laying out, like misreading him or something. Now he's doing it again! I don't get it, really. He always says that I am not understanding him (quite condescendingly) So, I really don't know the deal with this.

At the moment, he's accusing me of letting my emotions run my analyzation of the show. That may be true, but only in part. Seeing as how I almost instinctively found Zutara and I'm extremely passionate about it and it's possiblities...We're supposed to be neutral and use cold hard logic when analyzing TV shows and stories.

But what about all the show related logic that we DO come up with, that is PERFECTLY VIABLE? I'm thinking I'll start whipping some of that out on him. Up until now it's been a battle mostly about who's reading it right and who's reading it wrong, about the shippers...But I'm bringing the show into this. Even if he does shoot it down, I'm going to post it to him. Whatever. I'm not going to be in this debate for long, I just got to do this one last thing to show him our side of the logic. Which is actually QUITE FREAKIN LOGICAL.

3. Waterbenderbunny...isn't throwing out anything we haven't seen before, but it's a little disconcerting to see her again in the bashing arena consdiering.

4. Karni-Molly's not doing too much, but she and Swan SWan have a dialogue going about Zutarians and how if we want to be blind to the truth, they should let us. At least she was telling Swan to stop it, anyway.
And she acknowledged that on the off chance of Zutara happening, he's basically making himself look like an a**.
I mean, she may be a neutral shipper, but she's heavily biased towards Kataang and against canon Zutara.

PaintedBlueRose of DA is also in the rings with DKC and Swan Swan along with me. Dave is actually glad or at least amused with the strong debates his piece is causing. Someone also countered Waterbenderbunny when she put her two cents of sarcasm in.

So...Yeah. I'm going to try to erase this debate from my mind for a little while, since I've been arguing since...the other night? Yeah. My brain and my patience need a little rest.

So go check it out if you want to see a cesspool of debates or feel like adding your own cents in...It'd actually help (maybe...not likely...lol) if another person was echoing my thoughts against DKC and supported the logic that I'm planning on dishing out to him later on...I'm not exactly asking for help, but yeah. The more the merrier!! XD

A good idea. At least we will have made our voices heard, right? I've got to get back in soon too, or they'll think I've run away or something. But yeah, it's best to think things out before you send them.

Yeah, the way he makes it sound...it's a lot like Math...which isn't really true. That's the other thing I made sure to think out and rant about in my response.

Basically I told him that there is no real formula or equation to storytelling, that yes, there are guidlines and methods as to how to depict the message you're trying to convey, but it's so much more loose in art forms. I mean, even to quote Pirates of the Carribean: "They're more like guidelines than actual rules!"
He even tells me that you aren't supposed to use your own thoughts and feelings when analyzing and viewing a story! Come on!

I mean, people don't watch a movie or read a book to apply some stupid formula to it to get the answer, They're supposed to watch and see, Stories are supposed to INSPIRE thought, and INSPIRE emotion. That's why we've been telling stories since before the dawn of time!! The artist/author is supposed to change it up, to make their story different from the norm, give people something NEW.

Augh. The way he explains it, it's like...Like doing art from a Textbook, really. Which just. Doesn't. Work. It's not how it's done. You're supposed to feel art, you're supposed to think about a story.

I don't know what all-knowing, holier-than-thou classes he's taking, but I'm tempted to find out to see just how whack it really is, or maybe if he's the one misinterperting things! lol.
