The gaurds would feel bad for her, but none of them dared contact Moreau on the matter. At some point one of them would offer her part of their lunch, but otherwise there was no sympathy for the cheetah girl.

Colche happily accepted the sandwich at lunch time and even moved closer to the gate, sitting almost at the guards feet like a little lost kitten. She wasn't going any where. At least unless somone moved her, she just wanted to see Aubrey, just for a little bit.

Colche sat until well on to mid afternoon before she stirred. She had even napped there using a guards foot as a pillow. she wasn't making any move to get in, she was just waiting maybe moreau would let her in. She knew the mans name, he was Aubreys prince, she had remembered that conversation well, maybe he would just let her in for a minuite if she braught something for Aubrey.
Sitting up she looked up at the guards and grinned running off in to the jungle off the trail, following that keen kitty nose of hers.Though there was a rather keen scent of blood in the air she soon found what she was looking for, Flowers, and lots of them. Gatherering a great big bunch and holding htem between both arms, there were some weeds and vines int heer as well but to the little cheetah girl they added to the effect before making her way back towards the labs.
Padding back up the trail, dropping flowers all he way, sort of a breadcrum trail of flowers, eventually. By the time she got to the gates she had a bouquet large enough to hold between both furry hands which she held out at arms length to the guards "for mommy please" she squeeked, a pleading look in ehr eyes, maybe they would let her in, or maybe not, but maybe they would at least give Aubrey the flowers. Maybe...

Pyroth had searched the village for anyone who knew anything about the attack and had encountered no success, not even coming across a person who didn't know anything. He wondered if Jamal had fared any better than he.
Either way, as it was he headed up the path to the Laboratory, not too sure why he did. Part of him wanted to see if the events had resulted in any lapse of security that he could take advantage of, the rest of him just wanted to find someone, anyone who he could talk to.
He was actually a bit scared to sit still in case he nodded off, he didn't want to risk laying on his arm which positively SCREAMED agony every time he moved. It must have been deeper than it first looked because it was making moving his entire shoulder and upper chest painful, and he still didn't even have a clue what the hell had caused it.
As he headed into the shadow of the looming laboratory, he became acutely aware of the smells of civilisation, gunmetal, bullets and sterilising agents. It was so foreign to him that he almost missed the three figures ahead, two of them being guards, the other, more familiar.
"Colche!" he called out, suddenly remembering her deep connection with Aubrey, the announcement must have been really bad news to her.

Colche was still stood hoping one of the guards would take the flowers at least, her thoughts and the gift of flowers was interupted by the sound of her name though. Placing the flowers, very carefully on the floor she ran for Pyroth and clung to him like a little spotty furry leech "PyrothPyroth" she mumbled busying her stubby muzzle in to his chest fur before mumbling something very muffled and partially incoherent.
After a few moment she lifted her head her eyes were all teary though she was obviously trying, being the optive word, to keep them in, she had managed so far to not cry in front of the guards but now pyroth was here, somone she knew and trusted above alot of others on the island, she wanted a hug and a sob but was trying so very hard to be brave.
"Mommy hurt" she queeks at last managing to blink back all but one tear. "wanna see, no let" she pouted even more then, maybe Pyroth would be able to get ehr in, he was so much more clever than she was.

Pyroth patted Colche' back as she hugged him, realising that he'd been cried on or almost cried on more times on this island than he had at any point in his life. Still, even in his somewhat chilly mind, the idea of an upset Colche was fundamentally wrong, and the fact that she was doing her best to hide this drove it home all the more. Shooting the guards the briefest feral glower he fought the urge to lick Colche in a distinctly canine show of sympathy and affection. Instead he settled for simply talking.
"Oh Colche.." he flicked his ears back, hating feeling so helpless to make her smile, he decided to do his best to reassure her. She didn't need the worry that the others were going through, the islanders would find the person at fault, let Colche believe. "..it will be okay."
He sought for an idea and found it. "Aubrey will be okay, the guards just can't let you see her because she's sleeping. She's sleeping to get better for you and if you wake her up it will be all the longer till she can come back and see you again." he gave her a warm smile and patted her hair with a paw "I bet she can smell those flowers in her dreams wherever in the lab she is, because you put them there for her." it was corny but it was the best Pyroth could do, being as totally inexperienced in matters of reassurance as he was.

Colche was as usual trusting to a fault and hearing Pyroth say those ever so reaasuring words made ehr smile, just a little, though the smile didn't touch those sweet blue eyes. She was frightened, that she would never ever see Aubrey ever again. It was a scary thing for the little cheetah girl. Aubrey had been so happy not so long agi, she had had the most wonderful birthday with her mother figure and thought everything was okay and now she was hurt and she couldn't even seeher, just a little, just for a minuite to make sure her party wasn' the last time she evers saw the woman she so admired and adored.
"Promise/" She looked at pyroth nibbling her lip suddenly, she had started to grow out of this nervous habbit, the cheetahs genes had made ehr so much more confident that her nervous lip nibble had almost faded away, though she hadn't noticed of course. It came back with a vengence in this situation, she needed a promise, she needed somone, anyone to confirm that Aubrey would come out and hug her again and read her a story, come to her when she was frightened or alone, just be there if she needed her. "Mommy like flowers where she sleeps?" she tilted ehr head a bit, it was a silly question, but it was all she had to cling to in this situation, questions that would just confirm that Aubrey was happy, safe and coming back soon, she was so terrebly frightened somone would say those dreaded words to her, your mother can't be with you any more, there wasn't a great prince here to look after her, what would she do without Aubrey?

Pyroth felt hopelessly inadequate in the face of Colche's concern for the woman who had become like her mother. It hit him somewhere deep. Only earlier he had been rejoycing in the announcement, glad to hear that one of the oppressors had been struck a blow for the team, now he was looking at the concequences of that announcement.
Was this what happened before, after he had set up an impeccable motorway pile up?, food poisoning outbreak? He couldn't possibly let himself dwell on it, not for a moment, his very composure depended on it. He shook the emotions off like a dog shaking off water, trying instead to focus on anything else, honing in on the pain on his arm, it would distract.
He nodded to Colche, trying to look as resolute as possible while lying slightly in an attempt to ease her. To him the words sounded like the signature on paperwork that could come back to haunt him "I promise. She'll be fine."
"Yep, like I said, she's just asleep and when people sleep deep enough, sometimes they hear the voices of their loved ones, it guides them back." Again, he didn't even listen to his own words, just focused on the pain, all the while feeling like a lying hypocrite.

Her gaze trailed back to the men before the gate, Pyroth had said that Aubrey was sleeping, but she would be really really quiet, she just wanted to see Aubrey, she wouldn't be naughty or anything. Turning that innocent blue eyed gaze back to Pyroth she licked her lips, her rasply pink tongue dryer than usual because of her lack of anything but a dry sandwich from one of the guards lunch pails.
Of course, Pyroths promise that Aubrey would be okay, he'd promised she would be okay, made her hug the furry dog man all the more, she trusted Pyroth to the end, he was one of the first males she had ever truely trusted even loved to a degree of being a friend or older brother figure in her life. Pyroth wasn't anything like Ambrose but he taught her things like building sand castles and tossing stones and just generally being a friend, a trusted friend. His words lightened ehr heart a little but her vigil on the gate certainly wasn't going to stop.
Aubrey had to wake up some time and when she did she would be allowed in right? "When mommy wakes up I go see?" she asked, Pyroth was answerer of all questions that needed to be answred, she would get this one too, maybe Aubrey would wake up later and she go and sit with her for a little bit,a nd take her the flowers and read her a story and take some chocolate cake, after all chocolate cake and stories solved everything.

Pyroth was glad to see she looked just a bit more contented, even if he had had to lie slightly to acheive this. It was strange how different Colche was to all of them, out of everyone he'd met she seemed to treat the island as "home" pulling everyone around her into a sort of extended family. While they fretted and stressed over little things she only cared about her "mommy". Sometimes it was enough of an illusion to even convince him that this was normal, looking the way he did and living here.
"Definately. I'd imagine when she wakes up, you'd be the very first person Aubrey will want to see. She'll probably want a good morning hug." For his own concience and the sake of Colche, he hoped that Aubrey /did/ wake up.
He swished his tail appleasingly, looking earnest. "But until then what will you do? " he wasn't sure if she meant to stay here by the gates or go back to her duplex.

Colche smiled, she would be the firstist person in to see Aubrey when she woke up. Maybe she would wake up in the morning. Looking thoughtful she tried to count the days until Aubreys special day, Mothers day, Bobby had informed her of the day and ehr project was nearlly finished, she just had to put some touches to it and ask somone to write onit for her. The word write had come to her recently, she wanetd to learn but was completely unsure how to go about the task of 'writing'. Still Maybe she could work something out.
At pyroths questioning she pointed at the gate "Stay, Mommy wake up" she nodded an affirmative, if she went and Aubrey woke up somone else would see her first! She wasn't going any where until she was let in to the labs to see her. Even f it meant sleeping all night on the gravel.

Pyroth raised an eyebrow (or what passed for an eyebrow these days) and said "You are going to stay here? What will you eat and drink?" he looked honestly concerned. "You sure you don't want to go back to your duplex?"
He stopped himself there, reminding himself that despite his first instincts to be protective, Colche was able to make her mind up herself, she didn't need him trying to force her to go back where she wasn't happy. He decided to be supportive instead.
"In fact, never mind. Is there anything you will need if you are staying up here? I can get you a pillow or something, or a bottle or two of water."

Colche acctually giggled at pyroth, the first smile since she had heard the news about Aubrey. She supposed if she was going to stay here she should have something to sleep in "Pyroth bring, me, tent" She paused and shook her head "My tent" she nodded that was better. her tent lived in her dupexit was a simple thing you just tossed it and it was open, it was bright shiney and pink with bunny motiffs all over it, plus it had a little electrick light with a battery in the top of it which lit up the whole thing, a plush ground sheet and a sleeping bag, pink with bunny motiff through out. She could sleep heer and maybe if Aubrey woke up one of the guards would wake her too.
After a moments pause she double checked the gates again making sure they hadn't opened, or that the guards were calling for ehr to come, Aubrey could wake up any minute now. "oh! Feed bunny" she smiled, her rabbit stil;l had to be fed even if she was up here, concern for her motehr figure came first of course but bunny would be hungry. Taking a deep breath she hugged pyroth again rubbing her dark nose and cheek on his chest "Thankyous" she whispers, she was trying so hard to hold back her tears. Pyroth had made ehr feel better, much better in fact but until she saw Aubrey nothing would be right with the world.
