Lexenos looked up as Mel tapped his shoulder and noticed her nod. He watched her walk toward the cave before getting up and walking there himself. He noticed how his sister and Ahren were looking into the cave and looked into its gaping maw himself before asking, "What are we looking at?"

Varnis had noticed the three staring into the cave, and decided to go into there. He looked back at them. "There is nothing in the cave." He said as he tapped his staff on the ground, and had light apear from the staff, then turned around. "Ahhh! Goblin!" He shouted as he fell to the ground and his staff went out, as he tried to get away.

Lexenos grined excitedly as he readied his swords. "I thought you said there was nothing in the cave, Varnis," he said through his joy of being able to fight something.

Mel shook her head at her brother's antics, but readied her bow as well. She took a few paces back and aimed toward the goblin's general area so that she would be ready for its attack.

Varnis had managed to get ahold of him self as he still laid on the ground, and turned around to look back into the cave. He re-lit his staff then pointed it into the cave. He saw a mossy rock there, and sighed. "Just a mossy rock..." He said as he lied there, relaxed that there was no goblin there.

Mel lowered her bow and released her grip on the arrow. She realesed the breath that she had not realized that she had been holding. "Please try not to do that again, Varnis," she said, trying not to let her voice waver too much.

Varnis had stood back up, and walked into the cave. "I'll try not to. But, it was a green rock, and it did look at a goblin with the quick glance that I had of it." He said as he sat down on the rock, and waited for the rest to finish.
The king was off on the side, laughing about what was going on.

Lexenos sat back down on the grass with a frown on his face, the dissapointment clearly showing through. He sat down next to the rock and started poking it with one sword while sheathing the other. He was very careful to get the sword too near Varnis. Lexenos sighed and said "I wish it was a goblin... But if it was, then Varnis would be sitting on it." He smiled at the thought.

((I'M HERE blaugh Sorry about the delay! School has started for me too, and I haven't had much of a chance to be on! xp ))
Artica had remained quiet throught the 'encounter', but now decided to put her two cents in.
"You can slay Varnis still, if you want," she offered sarcastically. "You know," she added quickly, before anyone could respond. "For the good of The Cause."

Varnis had stared at Artica for a moment before responding. "Then who would heal you all when you need it?" He asked her waiting for her response he sat there resting.

Varnis had still sat there, with a relaxed look on his face before responding to her. "You are a mage are you not?" He took a breath before continuing. "And we do have fighters, but they cant take all of the monsters on them at once, and some will pass by them. They can attack you, and you do have a very low amount of defense, so how would you defend your self if they get past the fighters?" He asked as he lied back on the rock, and turned out the light of his staff, hiding him, and the rock.

In answer to how she planned on defending herself, Artica drew her Egyptian Scorpion-tail Dagger and boomerang blade out, quick as lightning, and slipped into a pose that suggested attack.
"Dispite whatever prejudice you hold for Mages, we are not defenseless," she hissed, stepping closer. "But you... what do you plan to do, to avoid being injured in battle?" she all but whispered. "You defense... is lower then mine..."

"I could always try to block an attack with my staff." He said as he rolled off the rock, and started to walk deeper into the cave. "I can also heal myself, unlike some one." He said as he was walking deeper into the cave. "Well, I am not going to wait any longer for you people to enter the cave. I for one am ready..." His voice trailed off from going deeper into the cave, it was hard to hear him as he walked deeper.

Lexenos stood up and ran after Varnis into the cave. "Varnis," he said quietly, "how do you put up with that? I know I can't stand the way she talks to you," he said with a disguested look on his face. "How can you deal with that?" he repeated.
