Logan sighed again, this heat was getting to be annoying and since they couldn't go back downstairs just yet it made things even worse for everyone. Though there had to be a way to pass the time so they could get out of the dumb glass sea sooner than they thought, if not he wouldn't be surprised if some of the crew fell down dead. Though an idea struck him and he fiddled in his robes for something. After looking around to see if anyone was near by he looked down at the small orb in his hand and stared at it for a moment, but since everyone was around he decided this would be better if no one could eavesdrop, though suddenly Robbins appeared handing him goggles. "Well thanks." With a small smile he took them and placed them on, adjusting them somewhat before he looked back at the man."I'll make sure they wont break, thanks again." Then his wings suddenly appeared and he took off into the air, it be better than standing around anyway.

Wiping the back of her hand across her forehead she gave a snicker. "Easy for you to say." No, she wasn't a modest creature and she did from time to time wear barely anything for business means but there was a reason she layered up as well. When your world was based mostly on touch, you wanted to tone that down as much as possible where you didn't want it. "If I was dying, I'd be the first to know. Desert wasn't this bad before..." Another look to the compass that was sitting in her lap. Oh this so better be worth it.
Eyes slid to the side to watch his movements, but that was all the movement she had made herself. One track minded at the moment by her body's whim, it was picking what needed to be done over what would only consume more energy in petty squabbling. Thus a little nod to him as she took what was given and drank a little over half of what was there, not caring exactly what it was or where it came from, only that she needed it and by extension Kaznec.
She laughed, almost in delerious like fashion as she was stripping off another piece of clothing and plopping her hat back on her head, spyglass in the other hand as she had noticed out of character movement on Hunter's ship which happened to be goggle exchange. "It would be a fine sight of sailors on that ship right there if we weren't all miserable and hot."
Indeed she was being looked over in curious fashion seeing as this color was not something they were used to. But it seemed a passing concern that was gone quickly and they had moved on to new things. "Not many listen to the stories of those outside our realm. And not many that venture in make it out." It was a clear threat...metallics ruled out here and being rare as they were they were fierce in protecting themselves. A tilt of her head. "You're with the ships...yes?" Scouts were still watching those somewhat but right now this was more. A nod however, "Yes...we have fire among our kind too. They survive just as any other out here with our ways to help. By why should we?" And this would probably involve those blasted golds somehow.
The shiny bronze followed him out of the little tucked away space, glancing too at the other bronze. That was not a good sound after all. Standing next to the male, the slightly smaller and obviously younger little male blinked and watched a few times. He looked less eager to help and spoke to the elder under his breath "Nomag qe urthalre..."

She landed on the glass..and slid a bit and scrambled for a grip a second...before watching the two males and lowering her head some to them, before returning to a neutral form...and was quite naked. her body temperature was out of wack enough to not make clothing a good idea for a long flight, since it made for less energy use during changing forms. Of course she knew draconic...some. her memory of the time when she fluently spoke it was dim. but she got the gist of it. what are you doing out here and why are you asking us for help.
"We have a red dragonlord in desperate need of aid. the glass sea's heat is killing him with his own fire. He's dying a slow, painful death. and no dragon deserves that. that is for humans."
better not mention Bell...at least not what she was doing. She knew the taboos of opposite alignments mating. though she'd imagine that Bell's cold alignment was more because the Riders had wanted her to be a cold silver, rather then anything else.
Hunter let richards take the wheel, moving over to Sky.
"What is your weapon...what kind of breath do you have?"
Maybe they'd get lucky and she could at least temporarily help cool them down.

He shook his head at her stubbornness, dropping down to one knee in front of her and lifted her hand, resting it against his chest that was already damp. "Are you beginning to understand how hot it is, Savryn? You can't wear all of those layers and expect to survive. They'll slowly suffocate you or you'll pass out from heat exhaustion."
She needed a lot more than that but unfortunately right now he didn't have anything else. Food would be good. Letting her keep the skein, he began moving around and searching for something--anything--that might pass as a food product and give her something to keep her energy up. Were he Eilynne, hunting would be no problem. Maybe he should have gone to alert the dragons?
Debating on the reception she could potentially get, Eilynne crossed her arms and studied the other dragon. They feared her in a way because they didn't understand necessarily what she was. Not silver, but white. "The Goddess requests your help as our firebreather is very important to our task. You will be well compensated."
He gave a grunt and held his staff to keep the younger at bay. "sjek she ui, she geou ti ehtah letoclo tenpiswo." Turning back to Desdemona and watching her for a moment. If she thought she could appeal to his mercy, she was barking up the wrong tree entirely. "He is not my kin and there is no benefit for my tribe. Why should we help a trespasser on our lands?"

She yanked her hand back, waving it to flick off sweat. Oh that was just gross, why did he have to do that? No doubt he wouldn't leave her alone until she was compliant...she'd make a compromise. Thusly she pulled her robe over her head, letting it drape behind her shoulders so the hood stayed on and shielded from the sun, as well as unclasping the black gold trimmed jacket that was a normal wear for her. Yes, that was her idea of compromise. He wouldn't understand even if she told him why she layered up...he seemed happy to be ignorant to her little 'quirks'. "Better?"
Nope, she really didn't care what he was doing anymore, though if he did venture too close he got a low growl of sorts. Yes Kaznec was for all intensive purposes stable but with all the other factors going on around her, she wasn't giving into a guardless manner yet. Though she did drink down the rest of the water before curling up some where she was sitting and wiping a hand across her forehead, wiping away sweat that came more from exertion then heat.
'Compensated' got a few pleasant flicks of tails from others but she remained rather stoic in her mannerisms. "Your task will take you out of here, yes? I'm sure you understand...this is not a place where we show mercy nor we let things slip. Though I will say you and yours are brave to venture out here as bare as human babes into fire." And bravery to dragons was something they liked. "Let us see what you have to offer..." Though she'd kill them all in an instant if this looked sour to her. More compliant because it got her closer to something she could off if needed than in actual wanting to help. Thusly a whistle to two others and a flash of silver mist for them to natural forms. "We'll take a look and then I'll decide if you can dock and get your help."
His younger years showed off the air of suspcion that had been bred into him from who they were and where they lived...granted their tribe as a sort of motely crew of color. But he abided by the warning he was given and the reassurance as well, still staying close and watching her.
She looked up to him as he approached her, squinting some at the sunlight to focus in on him and try to pay attention to what he was saying and what it meant. She was still on the low side of the curve after all. Weapon and breath in the same sentence must have meant the thing that happened with that word and the kicking that came with it when the riders wanted it. A scrunched up look as if she wasn't sure what to call such a thing and looked around frantically for a comparison. Getting up she walked over to one of the barrels and pawed at the water some with her hand. Was that right?

"The benefit comes in other forms. Aiding the dragonlord aids the Laerethe, who have given him a task. it aids his would be mate, who is desperately trying to keep him alive."
A small shrug.
"We have one with us that practices a unique brand of magic. maybe we can barter some of the information on it in exchange for help. we have little in coin or jewels, but we are in dire need of the help you can offer."
maybe political ties.
"Would it sway your thought to know it is Lycear's son?"
Hunter frowned a bit, she didn't seem quite graps what he was asking, so he'd try simpler terms.
"Can you make ice with your breath? Like bell does?"

Logan sighed a little in frustration as he flew in the air, the wind helped cool him down but the heat from the sun was still bothersome, still the goggles the first mate gave to him did help of course, his eyes were more sensitive than other had to believe. Though as he flew Logan kept an eye out around the area, but all he saw was glass, glass and more glass than he wanted too. If he returned to his home after this he would hide the mirrors in his house for a few good months. Though as he soared a little higher Logan pulled out the orb again and looked at it for a moment. "Aiden?"

The amusement at her disgusted reaction to his blatant action disappeared as she only went halfway. "No." That wasn't going to cut it for him or for her. "Strip it off, Savryn. You aren't modest and, even if you were, your life would be far more important than any girlish embarrassments."
He was unimpressed. "But no benefit to me or mine." And that's what he wanted more than anything else. These two dragons were obviously not rogue dragons which meant they could go back to wherever they came. "Leave this area and he will survive. You do not need our help." A blink at the name. Sure, he knew who Lycear was but the politics of a city meant nothing to the politics of the desert. They were rogue, Lycear was not. It was as simple as that.
"Our task involves reassembling the Gift to which pieces have been distributed among your kind. The Goddess will be very angry if you do not assist though I can offer only the compensation that She allows." Sparkling mist that turned her into her natural form as the legendary Laerethe. "I borrowed the form to find you but mean no deception. We come in peace but there is precious little time to barter. Your help must be secured with the faithful belief that my promise is sound."

Fine. Stripping off her jacket as well as her belt she set them off to the side. "You can stop worrying about you and sit your sweaty self down. As you've said, I have no modesty concerns but I do have others." She lad little motivation to fight with him too much, she just wanted to be left alone and put her mind elsewhere out of this heat.
They seemed settled with the change in the form before them, her the most...she was old enough to know their kind after all. It was worrisome and perhaps a bit more compelling but she wasn't going back on her word. "As I said...let us see." Thusly to the air with her, she already knew where those ships were and she was going to make a few passes...after all, she couldn't let anyone thay may be more trouble than they were worth be among her kind.
He seemed more responsive than the elder and actually side stepped closer to him a bit, looking up. "Ornla jaci confn?" After all, they knew who it was and was it a good idea to perhaps be the undoing of that particular son? He was nervous as his youth dictated.
Ice? That was when the water got cold yes? One of her brothers could do that. Another thinking look from the little dragon as she was trying to piece things together in her head. She knew quite a few water tricks indeed. "Sky can try...?" Water yes, she could do that. "Frahraek word...use element...yes?" That's the word they used to tell them to do it. They said that word and it told them they could use their powers they were aware of. "Sky change now?" After all, she could only do that in her natural form but knew she was rather big even for this deck. Had learned she had to be careful.
Fire seemed to stir in the little orb logan had, flicking about it it seemingly formed an outlined like image in the fire of whom he was calling. Though detail did slowly fill in some even if the fire remained, showing off perhaps facial expression and the like. "Logan? Is something the matter?" It was said in a soft concerned tone, like she had been doing something and his voice had pulled her from it thinking that something could be going wrong. Did worry while he was away from home after all.

Logan smiled a little when he saw the 'image' of Aiden, even with it just being inside the small orb and all he could still picture her as the woman he knew. Though he blinked at the tone of her voice and he frowned a little before he shook his head a bit. "No, there is nothing wrong over here. I just miss you that's all." To hear her voice was a blessing, it was soothing to the ears. "I just wanted to see how things are back home, is everything ok over there?"

Hunter nodded lightly.
"Yes, you can change and try. if you can make the water ice, then we can keep everyone cooler. Frahraek."
knowing the word might prove useful.
Desdemona growled lightly under her breath.
"We can't leave. we have to pass through the glass sea. there are too many enemies to go back. What will it take to get you to help? I fI have to I will lay you on your back. It's important to those we travel with that he be kept safe. the black of the Salt Beds even wants him safe."
Hey, Sae was an old, and quite powerful dragon in his own right.
"There is a resistance to the yoke coming. the more allies we have, the better the odds. even you can understand the help the city of Lycear can give. and I know that your clan is as preyed upon as any."

He'd won that battle, hadn't he? She might think he was just being mean or worrisome but it was worth it to keep her safe and intact. Bending down, he pressed a kiss to her forehead, knowing better than to fight the hood covering her colorless eyes, and then sat down beside her, leaning his head back against the wood with a sigh. The material of her tunic was so much thinner than everything else she wore and he knew to push anymore right now would invite nothing but retaliation. "What's your toy telling you?"
"You won't find anything." That ship held nearly nothing on it but stripped pirates and small chests of booty. These dragons were hoarders that was for sure but there wasn't a whole lot of treasure on the ships to begin with since supplying and whatnot costed loot. Eilynne waited patiently, counting down the minutes and then joining them in the air. "Will you help?"
Young ones always worried far too much in his opinion. He understood what the other was getting at and merely shrugged. Desdemona didn't frighten him and if she thought it was going to be easy to bring him down, she was sadly mistaken. He'd have her tied in a knot before she could even move. "Threats will certainly not soften my will."
She was desperate and they could always use that. "Enemies? Do you seek protection as well? We wish for none to bother us and those who do come through rarely make it back out." His own warning to her. He knew what she was talking about with the yoke and he also knew that she was trying to work things in her favor. "Perhaps. But we learned to deal with those beasts long ago. Lycear can do no more than we can. I will confer with others and bring you your answer."
Patting the younger one on the shoulder and instructing him to stand guard as he changed into a large golden dragon and took to the skies, finding the silver easily enough. "astahii tuor hesi letoclo."

Another jerk back at his odd gesture that she never quite understood. Everyone seemed to do that to her and she never knew how she felt about it. He wasn't her brother, or her father, or her family...he was just a familiar stranger that thought he knew best and deferred to her like a child being stubborn. Sure she was twenty four years younger than him, but that didn't make her a child. "That there's too much damn out here that's going to be points of interest. We're not just passing through...how many people have realized that is the question." Shifting uncomfortably again and wiping at sweat once more.
Indeed she seemed to perk up at his word and recognition was in her eyes. Him saying it was clearly different from her saying it, and it meant more than what she had been saying. Thusly blue mist to let to a little dragon form and staring at the barrel of water...her brother had certinally did this and they all had the same primary affinities...so she should be able to do it too, right? Or at least force cold, right? Thusly an intake of breath that seemed to visibly draw moisture out of the air and into a ball just behind fangs...and a little concentration had it go misty...and then a little more crystally...till she was holding a ball of ice between fangs that was duely plopped into the water...which indeed seemed to frost on the top. Not a compelete freeze, but that wasn't her forte. "Yes?"
"Oh...you had me worried a moment." Clearly from the image, she was standing in front of something that was transmitting back to him, seeing as he could see her look to something that was in her surroundings back home. "Everything is just fine, Janus was over earlier with an invitation but that's about all. Quiet as ever here. I take it you're enjoying your travels." The barest hint of frown in her expression telling that she still worried about his wanderlust of sorts.
Oh great, he was left with her. But he merely picked himself up a little, straightening his posture...though admittedly his eyes roamed over her form some in unhidden manner. She spoke of some many things that could be so bad and yet she wan't horrid to look at for such a bringer of bad news. "The black doesnt come here often."
High in the air to minimize her shadow she made a point of letting sharp eyes look over what was going on decks but she was more eager in sensing out things...the magics on board were both strong, as well as foreign....adn there was something familiar in there too that they had been hanging onto themselves. Mayhaps that was the reason things were happening now. She came to a hover however as gold flicked in her line of vision and she gave a snort. "You...I knew it would only be a matter of time." Shaking her head. "I'm offering. If that doesn't please you then stay away from my territory." Thusly a look to star bearing creature. "Yes. Change their course northwest...you will find a wave of glass which is plated with dragon scales...they may dock there." A look to the gold then. "You're going to be interested in them as well, however."

Well he was a gold, not a bronze as she had first thought from his appearance. son of a b***h. But she stayed put, watching the younger bronze look at her. not that she minded. she was long since used to such things.
"I'd imagine not. He seems to prefer his privacy."
though this did get her speculating.
"Did your clan lose a young mother or soon to be mother that was golden? not by death, but by flight?"
Hunter walked over and ran his hand over the frost...it broke through easily, and the water was much cooler.
"Yes, that is very good. can you do this to all the barrels? and if you can, try to apply it to the sails. if you can do all that, or at least all the barrels, I'll give you any treats you want out of the galley."
the frost was light enough it wouldn't dampen thier travel speed, but the melting frost would provide almost a ship specific drizzle that might help the men.

"Sorry, I just wanted to see how things are with you. I know I can easily talk to you through this but I do worry for you Aiden." He smiled a little as his wings gave a small flap to keep him in the air. "Janus was over? Well now what did he have to say?" It was still clear that Logan did not like Janus much, ever since they had a little problem with getting Aiden back the halfling and the 'god' were never on good terms. But Aiden's latter words seemed to bother Logan for a moment and he sighed. "Yeah it's alright, met some interesting creatures and what not." He then told her about the dragons there and some of the odd creatures like the giant squid and Jones, and the fact that the ships travel on sand. "Though how is everyone back there? Isle still forging that large sword some one commissioned?"
