 ✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ A couple of strangers. ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Training Field ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝Training❞
Yata nodded as the stranger spoke. It made sense that the boy surging with power was being controlled by someone else. No one who knew anything about the DWMA would be stupid enough to release such a massive amount of energy here, unless they were allied against the Shinigami. Yata narrowed his eyes slightly at the blue haired female who was boasting about what she had done to the boy. He could barely hear her voice, but from her movements and facial expressions it was obvious that she was pleased. The boy who was by the darker haired female, on the other hand, wasn't so happy about it.
"Well let's hope that she can keep him away from the building, too. The priority would be not getting anyone killed, so it might not be able to be helped, but if he gets inside the school there could be chaos. That level of power could bring the building down easily," Yata mentioned, somewhat absentmindedly. He wasn't really thinking about the school at this point. He was more focused on what was happening in front of him. That was the best way to keep himself from getting injured. Yata's focus was broken momentarily by a new figure emerging from behind Yata and the strangers he was standing with. This one a female.
"Any idea on how to actually stop him? Or maybe cut off her control somehow?" Yata asked, regarding the mans reply to the newcomer. He didn't notice that Xeno, the student from under the tree, had readied himself to take on the monstrous entity, and Xeno was gone before Yata could tell him to wait. He watched from where he was as Xeno surrounded the god-like being with wire, as well as the group that was in it's vicinity. Someone who used wires as a tool, that interested Yata slightly. But this wasn't the time for that.
Yata tightened his grip around the bat that was resting on his shoulder and threaded his wavelength into the metal material. Almost immediately the bat's metallic surface shimmered and warped, melting and reshaping itself all in the same moment. Within seconds Yata was no longer holding a bat; instead it was replaced with a six foot long metal bō staff. He watched intently, waiting at the ready just in case he needed to step in to pull Xeno out. He shifted his eyes momentarily to the man and woman standing beside him. "Any ideas on what we should do, exactly? Or is it more like one of those 'hit him until he falls' situations?"

(Please forgive me for anything which may come across as over the top. I don't mean to godmode or belittle your characters, but this is something of a plot-heavy part for my story, and I'd like it to go smoothly, so please bear with me. C: Thank you.) "Illo!?" The shock shook from Xuza like pollen from a pine tree, and out came the info. "No, you can't fight him! I've seen what he can do." A step back. She was afraid, and it was all she could do to keep herself in the area. As she was warning Han and the others, the monk was dealing with Xeno relatively easily. The wires were repelled with telekinesis and sent every which way from the two of them.
"No... Please, stop!" Xuza was still frozen, and it didn't look like the fight was going to end after just one attack--as one could expect of any fight.
"Oh my... I think we're being attacked--though it is a little hard to tell," said the witch snickering. "It could be that this is some kind of gymnastics routine, or some exhibition. ... In any event," now a slight tightening of her face as her sight narrowed on the man who was the height of underhandedness: Han. His whole crew, they were now to learn what it was to spit on a god. "I think it's time we show these people what it means to stare down infinity. Don't you think, Illo?"The monk's thousand-armed soul started to move, and the ethereal glowing arms with held different mudras suddenly launched themselves at the one known as Xeno. A couple dozen palms made of pure energy flew at Xeno like arrows--arrows that home in slightly, that is. They packed quite a punch, and wouldn't track electricity to Illo's body. There was no expression from the monk: no hate, no effort, not even that cocky smirk he wore into his sparring matches; as if was in a deep trance, unaware of everything he was doing.

Xeno Zavier Mesiter 3rd Year Gloves- On/ OffDWMADWMADWMADWMADWMA Xeno sneered as his attack had no effect. Xeno then focused his lightning withing his legs, making him go a bit faster, as the guy seem showed his soul with a lot of arms. He would then send palms towards Xeno, looking like arrows. Xeno tried his best to dodge them all but to no avail as he his hit hard by one of them and sent back to a tree. He hits the tree and it knocks the breathe out of him for a moment, as he falls to the ground. "Well, wast expecting such a comeback." He muttered as he slowly got up holding his stomach. He felt like a rib or two was broken as he winced a bit after getting up. "Dang, guess i cant hold back, he sure wont." Xeno said with a smirk as then then started to move his hands randomly, or tho it seemed. After a while the wires came together forming a small sword the length of one of his arms. He then grabbed it with his free hand and then ran surges of electricity through the blade. SO much so that the electricity was visible to those around him. HE then waited for someone else to make a move before he did as he simply got into a defensive stance trying to recover from the damage he received.. OOC- ok next

 ✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ A couple of strangers. ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Training Field ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝Training❞
Yata watched Xeno's trick with the wires was countered by some unseen force. He mentally checked off the possible forces that could have dismantled Xeno's effort without being seen. Human error, check; telekinesis, check; wind manipulation, check; reality distortion, check. Yata continued running through this list as Xeno was pummeled by the spiritual hands that were sprouting from the monstrous soul that belonged to the man known as Illo. He hefted the bo staff in his hand and twirled it between his fingers for a moment, getting a feel for it's size and weight. It had been a while since he had used a pole-arm in combat, though he does have a vast amount of experience using one. That used to be his weapon of choice.
Yata glanced back at the woman who had followed the mysterious suited man as fear crept into her body and swallowed the shock that had momentarily immobilized her. He does seem powerful, that much I'll give you. But I can't really sit by and let him injure students. Regardless of if he is in his right mind or not," Yata said, his voice full of determination. He turned his eyes back to Illo as he continued. "You two figure out exactly how you're going to break him of that witches control. I'll do what I can to distract him and keep him from killing anyone." When Yata had concluded speaking, his wavelength rose a little. From the small amount that it had risen, it would be easy to decipher that Yata was holding back much, much more than he was capable of.
Yata once more allowed his wavelength to flow through his body, as he had done before while he was training. This time he allowed the boost his wavelength augmentation would give him to come normally, doubling his speed and strength. Yata took a couple of steps towards Illo before breaking into a full run, the staff he was holding held linear with his body as he moved. When he got closer, Yata jumped from his front foot rather than propelling himself forward, bringing his body into the air and soaring over Illo and landing between the monk and Xeno.
Yata glanced at the witch for a moment before spinning his staff in his hand and leading into an upward swipe toward Illo's chin, using the moment the spinning motion had brought the staff to place much greater force behind the swing. The momentum, coupled with Yata's doubled physical strength and the location the staff was heading for was enough to take a normal man clear off of his feet and knock him out cold. However, Yata knew this was no ordinary man. As the staff journeyed towards its target, Yata plunged a dose of his wavelength into the staff.
This time the wavelength coursing through the metal was different. It didn't have the same property as it did before. Instead of trying to manipulate the metal, Yata was planning on hitting Illo with his wavelength. Knowing his wavelength wasn't large enough to overtake Illo's and deal as much internal damage as Yata was normally used to dealing, he chose to use his wavelength like a small needle, attempting to infiltrate Illo and disrupt the resonance rate of his soul. In doing so, he could knock Illo's soul out of rhythm for a moment. In theory, this would limit the amount of power Illo could access, but it is just a theory.
Wavelength ↗↗ Stable, Rising, Aggressive ↙↙ Status ↗↗ Healthy ↙↙ Out Of Character ↗↗ @Cotton Shorts Kid: Don't worry, I'm not the kind of person to have a character enter someone else's plot line and steal the show. I have a character in the works that I'm planning on having evolve over time, a very long term kind of character, so I know the personal plot importance of it. However, that being said, Yata is designed to be nearly on Stein's level (trained by Stein during his years in the DWMA, then further intense training, etc), so I don't intend to have him go down easy. He'll obviously lose the fight, or at least he'll be at an extreme disadvantage depending on when Illo regains control, someone else steps in, or the witch stops controlling him; but he just won't go down in a one-shot kind of situation. If that's all the same with you, that is. ↙↙ Quotes

(Ok, cool. I'll give Yata his fair share of spotlight then. c: ) Left without any option but to fight--as dictated by the witch who saw this group as antagonists for making the first move--Illo was now putting his years of demon slaying experience to work on the training field. It was odd to watch; Illo's reactions seemed slower, allowing Yata to get the better of him the first round, but it didn't seem to matter. The monk turned slowly to Yata, not following his movements as quickly as one might expect, and finished setting his feet to face the challenger just as his staff connected with his chin.
"You don't understand!" Cried the winged meister to Han. "That doesn't help us at all. I've seen him at his best. The guy made a mountain appear in the sky for Death's sake!" At this point Xuza was beginning to tremble. Out on the field it was becoming clear just how deep in they were. Illo, struck, stumbled off a few silent steps to the left and finally stopped, his head hung to the side. "... He did it without the slightest effort. Like he just had to think it and it happened." That hollow-eyed look waxed into view again as the monk straightened himself out and brought himself to face Yata as though nothing had happened. "How... How can you fight something like that!"
"Illo, dear... Please don't worry me like that!" Followed by cackling. "You're absolutely right though. ... No one can beat Illo!" Now she was looking to Xuza. "Not even the Furious Angel." And the fight continued as the witch taunted Xuza. Illo employed his spatial conversion to lengthen the distance between himself and Yata. On his next attack (but only for one turn) the distance between the two would be comparable to a certain infinite staircase.
"How--How do you know that name?"
"Oh... You wouldn't remember, would you," answered the witch with some disappointment. "... I was there, honey," her voice becoming as sweet, "with you always and through it all. ... No matter what place; no matter what time."

Xeno Zavier Mesiter 3rd Year Gloves- On/ OffDWMADWMADWMADWMADWMA Xeno could hear the two men talk from where he was kneeling. He then watched as the guy with the bat went in to fight. Xeno then watched as the battle transpired before him and smirked. It was rather interesting to say the least. Xeno felt bad he couldn't help to much but he decided to to do nothing. So, while taking a deep breathe, he stabs the sword of wire into the ground making the lightning from the sword dissipate into the ground. Xeno then would dig in his jacket to pull out 4 different cloths. He would then sew each cloth into like a kite of sorts and let them be flown into the air by the wind. He then slowly positioned the cloths around the fight in a circle. Zeno would then wait for the right moment to strike as he picked up his sword and once again held it in a defensive position. ✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ A couple of strangers. ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Training Field ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝Training❞
'Illo... That's his name,' Yata noted mentally, kneeling onto the ground as the distance between himself and the godly being before him suddenly grew to an impossible length. 'He certainly is powerful. But he's far too slow.'
Yata placed his palm on the ground, his wavelength reaching into the ground and pulsing outward. He sat like this for a few moments, taking advantage of Illo's seemingly more defensive move. A grin spread onto Yata's face and his hand sank slightly into the wavelength charged earth. In response, the ground gave in to Yata's will, rising all around him and surging forward. It formed a series of fists and sharp points at the crest of the wave of earth that was forming. The area around his body was disappearing, giving sustenance to his attack and in its place leaving a growing crater around the man.
In the middle of Yata's attack, a mysterious pair moved in and attacked Illo in Yata's place. His grin grew. While they took over the fight with the god, Yata directed the earth to change directions. It pivoted in response and moved towards the witch controlling Illo instead. Yata pushed more of his wavelength into this attack, and as it reached the front of the wave, each fist and point split up into smaller, but more numerous, branches. He was no longer aiming to overpower, seeing as that didn't look like it was going to work, instead he was aiming to overwhelm the witch and hopefully break her focus for the slightest moment to give Illo a chance to fight back against her control.

  "Then you're..."
"Yes!"
"Paradox!" Xuza growled and swiped her hand across the air in front of her and drew out a rapier and a devilish grin on the witch's face. Wings burst from the meister's back, and their inky blackness rippled and shimmered rapidly as Xuza leapt into the air after her sworn enemy. She warped right around Han, taking the fight to Paradox in the air.It was about this time when Yata and Xeno were taking their turns trying to solve this problem. Yata seemed to want to take on Paradox directly, while Xeno was biding his time with a more coverage-based strategy. Either way, Illo wasn't about to let it happen. Under Paradox's influence, the godly monk directed some of his arms to smash Yata's attack at the stem, pruning off all his fists before they got to her. She and Xuza went at it; warping and stabbing, and screaming from the meister, quiet chuckling and teleporting from the witch. At one point Xuza ran into one of Xeno's kites, sending her groundward for an instant before she warped and landed correctly, panting. "Why don't you die!"
"Why don't you hit me?" The witch kept taunting Xuza, not to mention holding her full control on Illo, as she flew and teleported around the arena, seeming to have no limit to her power either. "Xuza... This is what you've been searching for... Please, try a little harder?" Xuza snarled. "It was so inspiring, the way you dedicated yourself to killing me so fully. I had such hope just watching you pursue it! ... But now, it looks like that spark couldn't light a significant fire; try as you might, it was all for show: when you went to the future, when you trained alone for twenty years just so others wouldn't be burnt by your white-hot vendetta."
"Shut up!"

"You know you can't beat me, and yet here you are." A sigh escaped the witch's lips as the two found themselves standing in mid-air; Xuza panting. "Maybe I'm just getting bored of your heroic charm. It no longer satisfies me to know that you want to kill me; how could I be thrilled if there's no threat of it actually coming true! ... And your friends, they don't seem to be powerful enough either. Forget about Illo, you need to focus on what's in front of you. Let me help you."A snap of her fingers and the intrepid meister was in such pain her eyes had almost burst their blood vessels. She fell to the ground like a stone dropped into a deep lake, landing in a broken heap and writhing, her wings shuddering and growing and shrinking rapidly, randomly, as her wavelength oscillated on the edge of sanity at an incredible rate. It wasn't anyway as powerful as Illo's, but it was clear something was going on here. Meanwhile Illo pushed two powerful telekinetic blasts at Yata and Xeno. His wings, made of mudra arms, folded and readjusted constantly. He fell into a Wing Chun stance and motioned for the two to come at him. "You'll see, my darling meister," said Paradox lilting to the floor of the training field, "in time you'll be more powerful than you can imagine. ... Just look how far you've come, chasing me." At this point she flashed a cheeky smirk to Han. "Hunting is such good exercise, after all." As the battle wore on Illo proved he was a treat to all in the vicinity by launching palms from his wavelength at all present, even Han and Amara and Salvia would have to be careful, lest they take a strong blast of energy on directly.

Xeno Zavier Mesiter 3rd Year Gloves- On/ OffDWMADWMADWMADWMADWMA Xeno sneered as he had to move from his spot to dodge the blast heading for him. HE looked back to see a tree fall from the impact of the blast. "Lucky tree." he mumbled as he looked back to Illo. Xenos eyes narrowed as he let go of the sword made out of wire. HE would then move his fingers making the sword burst into ravels of wire then reform into a long stick. Xeno then catches it in one hand and uses his other to throw 3 needles at Illo. He knew it would have much affect, but he had other plans. HE then rushed forwards, keeping in mind his ribs, and passed Yata, heading straight for Illo. He the imbued the whole stick with lightning as he swung it hard at Illo s waist. OOC-....

 ✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ A couple of strangers. ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Training Field ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝Training❞
Yata watched carefully as Illo's spectral arms broke Yata's earth-forged attack with ease. He made sure to ingrain that in his memory, it might come in handy later whenever he was up close and personal with the monk. Yata, as Paradox and Xuza fought, continued to use his temporary influence over the ground to build a barrier of rock spikes behind Illo tilting at an angle that stepping backwards would impale him. Yata was barely able to finish constructing the spikes before he was blasted with an unseen force. Yata's hand was detached from the earth, breaking his control, and flew backwards a fair distance.
'Great, he's telekinetic too,' Yata thought. He laid back on the ground for a few moments as Xeno rushed past him. Yata watched him run as he brought his legs into the air and threw them forward, flipping himself onto his feet, charging his body with wavelength while he was midair. As soon as the soles of his shoes met the ground, Yata noticed the energy forged arms heading directly towards him and activated his Experimental Ectoplasm ability, forming a large dummy around him to absorb the onslaught of hands. They met with the gooey exterior and were absorbed into its form, leaving Yata unscathed. Though, as the rest of the arms dissipated, Yata deactivated his ability and immediately began running.
His body directed Yata towards Illo, quickly closing in right behind the other meister. As Xeno aimed his weapon at Illo's waist, Yata aimed his own palm at Illo's chest, fully charged with the full force of Yata's wavelength. Earlier, he had kept it condensed down so that he wasn't so easily distinguished from a student. Now, however, his soul was on full display, easily outclassing the standard meisters at the DWMA. Having seen a little more of what Illo was capable of, he knew better what he needed to watch out for in an up-close fight. And given the stance of the current enemy, he knew to watch out for whatever martial arts he could throw at them. While Yata wasn't necessarily adept in those kinds of fighting styles, he had been fighting with nothing more than hand-to-hand combat for years and knew the basics of what to expect.
He also knew that since Illo's feet were touching the ground, and he had hit Illo with his wavelength earlier in the fight (the staff hitting his chin), he would theoretically be able to use that wavelength that would still be in Illo's system for a few more minutes to stitch him to the ground should things get too hairy. Yata made a note to thank Professor Stein later.
It was thanks to him that Yata was able to make a name for himself in the DWMA. He wasn't much more than a punk kid whenever he was a first year student. He got into fights with the other students, and most of them he lost. But, after training with Stein, Yata matured a lot. He rose to a level as high as any Weapon-Meister pair. The difference: Yata did it all on his own. H was the only 3-star meister to graduate from the DWMA without a partner to collect souls with. And he did it a year earlier than the rest. These facts, as well as his fighting style, gave him a nickname around the school. The Wavelength Meister.
"Soul Purge," Yata growled, pushing his speed to the limit as his palm raced rapidly towards Illo's face. If the attack connected, the resulting pulse of wavelength through Illo's body would knock the rhythm of Illo's wavelength off balance, limiting his control over his own abilities for a few moments (two posts), and he wouldn't properly be able to resonate with his own soul or anyone else's for that matter.
Wavelength ↗↗ Stable ↙↙ Status ↗↗ Healthy ↙↙ Out Of Character ↗↗ Just a side note; if Illo does end up stumbling back into the spikes, they wouldn't stab through his chest or head or anything. More along the lines of his arms and legs. Again, that's only if he does fall back into them. Just wanted to throw that here, cause I didn't want it to seem like I was trying to kill your character lol ↙↙ Quotes

(Go ahead and neutralise Illo now. Thanks for your patience. C: ) The group was fighting valiantly, even beginning to work together as they made another push to try and break the monk. Unfortunately for them this was an opponent who was quite used to multi-staged attacks. Thank training with three thousand possible adversaries for that. This was of course compounded by the fact his powers were comparable to the fiasco at the lab.Illo seemed to be smarter, or at least quicker, than he was before. As Xeno’s galvanised weapon came at him the Iron Phoenix employed a simple but effective Wing Chun kick block to bat the strike away from his torso; the electricity bounced off his wavelength, some of it leaving minor burns on his skin. It gave him the chance to shoot a quick Wing Chun side kick at Xeno’s solar plexus. Next was Yata. His attack wasn’t so difficult to block. The monk didn’t have to be put off balance or in an awkward position to aim his kick at Xeno, so he was prepared for the wavelength meister’s strike. From the outside his hand came to press just below Yata’s elbow. He held that pressure, guiding Yata to side slightly and opening up his ribs for a quick but strong Tan Da. These strikes, if they hit either, as it was likely they would, would be much more powerful than the ethereal palm strikes of earlier.
“... You’re really going to try me, aren’t you?” said the witch with a smoldering hatred in her voice. “Fine! I’ll leave you to deal with both these monsters if you think you’re so clever.” And away she went, leaving a small wake of madness in the silence that filled her space. Meanwhile, Xuza was shaking. After a moment of that something odd started to happen. She seemed to be aging and growing young rapidly, flipping through life stages as though they were songs on a mediocre playlist. Illo’s power, on the other hand, had yet to decrease, but at least Paradox didn’t seem to be a problem at the moment.
