Hey Twi!... I have pretty much quit, the only thing I come on here and do anymore is log in to come to the RST... I don't even check my notices anymore... well, I did last week because I had like 52 of them...

You know Scarlet, I am starting to think I could really get into the pirate thing... not that I need any other tangents to go off on... but anyway...

Now a question... Does anyone know any good resources on astral travel? I am finding it rather difficult to find anything that really sounds legit, and my husband is really trying to figure it out... I am a rather accomplished lucid dreamer, but want to see if there is anything beyond that... but I don't want to waste time on fluff publications.

Hollywood doesn't do anyone justice.

I love Mythbusters XD Especially when they do the entire movie episodes and you see how much they fabricate things.

and @ Elta: I'm a pretty accomplished Astral Traveler. but I dunno how good of a teacher I am. I've never taught an adult before, but all the teenagers who wanted me to give them lessons never kept up with it and ended up giving up entirely on it.

one of them ended up learning later from someone else though. 9.9

anywho, if you want published works on it, I'd suggest material from Raven Silverwolf, or anything about Gnostic Magic, Shamanism, or Eastern Meditations.

I was kind of upset they used Ice Cube in the second... But woot Vin Diesel will be back! I love all of his movies, even The Pacifier

first of all, Silver Ravenwolf is a man. secondly, Raven Silverwolf is not the same person. and aye, they're both a liiiitle fluffy, but neither of them are "crocks".

but realy, everyone's a critic. you're gonna hear good things about wrong people, bad things about decent people, all the folks disagree with one another. so a little hunch realy isn't enough.

now, before anything more is said, I realize I'm being more than a little harsh. so I wanna appologize for that. I'm just uncertain how else to express it right now. I hope that's ok. this kinda stuff isn't realy for everyone anyway. I never honestly expected you to care much for Magic/Occult stuff beyond acknowledging that it's there. you've shown alot of strong opinion about a wide variety of those topics without expressing any interest in researching it, so. yeh.

I stand by my suggestion. Elta should peruse those books and see what she can find.

I actually found a couple books that seem to be what I was after at Barnes and noble the other day.

To be honest, I am not really into Silver Ravenwolf, as his publications exaggerate the mystic elements to some things.(IMO)... I am looking more for techniques, I already have established my belief, if that makes sense...

It has been years since I picked up any Ravenwolf though, so I might be holding onto an obsolete impression... I may just have to look for one of his books again.

Anyway, Dave and I have an extensive occult library, but as we went through it, everything talked about astral travel like we should already be pros. The most help we got were tips to enhance practices already established. So, I went to the psychological section of the store on a hunch, and found one of the books I bought, and then back to the occult section for the other. I'll recommend them if they turn out to be worth it. My husband seems to be getting results already, but he has been researching longer than I have. I think the self hypnosis techniques in the psychology book are what he needed... time will tell, I suppose...
