Making a mental note of the rift, KB couldn't help but smile on the inside. Though there would probably be nothing left of Tegral in that realm, the consequences of sending an explosive there would be widefelt. Perhaps even enough that the realm might have something to offer in that particular location at a later time. In any case, KB had stepped to the lip of the crater, sparing a glance at the unidentified woman.
At this point, a prized posession had slipped from his grasp. Though, a new pawn had been placed upon the field. Indeed, though Xol's power was great, he'd never succeeded in doing much other than serving. In fact, even in servitude his skills were frequently replaced or outmatched. The loss of the swords and his position hadn't given him strength at all. Nor had his b***h, who KB hadn't seen anything of either. Damnable cross-breeds, oh how he loathed them. Regardless, KB couldn't help but wonder about what to do next. The best bet would be to seperate himself from Sai, for her own protection, and to secure his children from Mastema. Then, he could begin to work. After all, he didn't need an alliance, he had himself.

True desire hmm? *Mastema watched with mild interest as Xol took over the stand off between him and Tegral. No doubt the cyborg would perform his little explosion on the other side of that rift. Mastema would relinquish his telekinetic concentration, and with the same grin he had a moment ago, would stand straight up and start restoring his destroyed arm* You have changed sides continually, Xol.... but your ability to surprise seldom seems to fade. Very well... I shall agree to your proposition for the moment. I have nothing to lose from it. However if you want more than an alliance you will have to make it clear. *He chuckled, more amused than in cold blood* Well then.... I believe my business here is done..... what of you? *For now, Mastema paid little mind to KB*

"Yes Mastema, true desire. Surely you know that the ultimate purpose of the Seraphim race was oppression. We were made to do the dirty work of 'Him' and his beloved Angels. Why else would I have joined the side of Lucifer? At least with the Dark Lord I could carry out my plans at my own accord."

A deep rage was etched on Xol's face, most due to the memories now surging to the front of his mind. Memories and old 'feelings'. He suddenly grinned though, contorting his face unnaturally as the sharp fangs peeked out from his top lip. These were the fist steps in the realization of what he and Lucifer had planned so long ago.
"Let it be know that this will not be a master servant relationship Mastema. We are two beings with a mutual agenda. My services are at your disposal as I assume yours will be at mine. However that does not mean I will be at you every beck and call like the dog I was to you long ago. And again, I assume you know that I will not think of you this way either. As goes without saying that it will take time for the trust to build between us, so let us go to the Citadel and perhaps further discuss matters there..."

Stealing a peripheral glance at KB, Xol just curled his lips into a smile.

KB would've interupted about a saying of Servants and Masters, but Draconic sayings often made little sense, even to beings as old as Xol. Of course, KB had never aquired to Mastema's age, not that he expected Mas to be very old. Perhaps a few thousand years at most. In any case, KB felt that the discussion topic had gone astray from what ideas he held. If anything, speaking of Mastema's mate and offspring would have to be reserved for a later time.
Shrugging, the cloaked figure began to move away from the edge of the crater. The land was not a place for two, for only one could truly rule. KB didn't have any intention of having Mastema rule, and Xol's treachory would be overly expected. That left very few choices to 'ascend to the throne' though, there was always the boy.

*Mastema finished regenerating his arm, and gave it a few test contractions just for the sake of comfort* Oh most assuredly.... I also know that the seraphims were not the only ones, known or not, entrusted with such a purpose. *Mastema chuckled at the next statements made by Xol* Oh come now Xol. You and I both knew, even then, that it was never truly a master and servant bond. Trust is just a variable.... I will see how much of it I entrust to you. My aid is request only, and I trust that you and I will only call upon one another for matters which are truly urgent. A random encounter for either of us is hardly reason for us to need one another's assistance, unless our foe is truly one of merit. But as we can both see, the Black Company is long since dissolved. *Mastema shook his head at the request* Be sensible, Solaris. If I were to take you into the citadel with no prior knowledge to my generals or associates, the results would not be favorable towards you gaining "their" appreciation. However, you may choose another location.

"Hmmm, of course, you have many under your stead to which I would have to be on good terms with as well. Very well, as of right now you have temporary access to my Keep. However, I reserve the right to take it away as I see fit, of course. It shouldn't come to that though..."

With that, Xol's body transformed back into that of his more normal appearance. He knew it would take a bit to gain the trust of Mas, the same as it would take him to trust Mastema. Even though it would not be a full trust, more of an uneasy symbiosis. It would still be more reliable that any other of the alliances he had been in as of late. Besides, Mas had nothing to gain in bumping off Xol and vice versa aside from one less evil b*****d around. This made more of a tactical sense.
"I need to rest. It seems the evolution was more draining on my body that I had originally thought, but if you see fit to visit then I will humor your company."
With that, Xol was gone in a flash of black mist, leaving Mastema to think or follow.

*Mastema couldn't help but chuckle at the offer* Perhaps, perhaps not. With the luck cast on this land we may seldom need to arrange meetings either way. And come now Xol, you would do it right or not. *Watching Xol flash away, Mastema felt it time to return to his stronghold as well. Opting for a faster method than he'd come by, Mastema faded away, not caring that Mugiri was not here*

Ka'rinth made his way into what was left of the place the dojo had once stood, Ah, of course all things shall return to the dust of the earth from which they arose. In life as in death may pain be it's own reward. As he spoke Ka'rinth's deep bass voice echoed into the night sky and his red eyes scanned the area. He paced slowly allowing the memories of a distant and recent pass to fill both of their minds. Perhaps together they could succeed where each had lost interest, a balance between skills, form, knowledge, and pure power. Ka'rinth and Shadow both laughed darkly as they reached the center of the crater and sitting crosslegged began brainstorming in their own manner.

As he sat in quiet contemplation of his next move Ka'rinth spoke softly, By all means brother, take the lead, and the shadows shall dance. Suddenly his voice had changed and he stood slowly, Shadow once more in mind and as he moved, he began to pace the crater reciting a poem as he moved.
As the shadows rise and the light fades, I do more than I was bade. My heart beats still, but is now embraced by this chill. The warmth of your embrace forgotten, lost forever in this cold void I have begotten. Can you melt this icy darkness? Or am I doomed to this bleak starkness?
You abandoned me once and I shall never forgive you. I will fill my soul with this darkness as I wait for pain to become a hazy memory What I am now without you is myself pure and true I am now of the night filled no more with doubt or temerity
A name is all I need to seek now, but what should it be I ask as blood coats the pure snow. As I step on your broken body and hear the crunch of marrow It comes to me that my name shall forever more be Shadow.
He paused as his path took him once more to the edge of the crater and with his left hand rising to cover his eyes began a deep baritone chuckle that quickly worked it's way into laughter that verged on the edge of insanity.

Long fingers flexed and stretched as though the creature walking with his dark aura and burning red eyes tinged with madness had itchy palms. As he paced and thought leaving Ka'rinth alone to contemplate on his own, Shadow focused on his memories from the days he had lived in this place. He thought about the fights, the studies, the sweet betrayels, and of course, the screams of the people of Enid as they were massacred and all hope of their ressurection stripped away. A dark smile played across his lips as he turned and made his way away from the dojo, there was no longer anything here to draw his interest. No targets and no tools meant that he only needed to find some place that did possess them. Maybe it was time to visit an old area of the forest, one that was almost like a home to him. With that thought he faded into the shadows of the tree line and aimed himself at a portion of the forest that he had used to store important items from even himself.

Derrek worked his way into the clearing. When the Dojo had come under attack, he had been swept up in the tide of those fleeing the dojo. For a while, he had remained at a safe distance to watch the conflict. With so many people fleeing all around, it was hard to discern exactly what was happening. Derrek saw brief parts of the conflict, but not the entire incident. Eventually, most of the people were clear and he could see through to the dojo. Unfortunately, that's exactly when D had decided to destroy it. Derrek was caught on the edge of the explosion, but suffered little damage. The Orb of binding, given to him by D, had shielded him from the brunt of the explosion by holding the space around him in nigh-stasis. This made it so the detonation didn't immediately fry him. Soon after, Derrek took to the forrest, as this conflict was well out of his league.
Standing in the crater left by the explosion, Derrek was astounded by exactly how much damage D had done. He'd known the man was powerful, but hadn't known exactly how powerful. Derrek had been a prodigy in the Academy, but had never seen anything like this. The only things which he knew might have comparable power were the orbs D gave him. Derrek removed the unbinding orm from his pocket and contemplated it. He'd wondered at first how useful this orb would be. It seemed at first only to release things already bound, but he had discovered there was more to it. Laws, rules, and connections were some of the strongest bindings out there. This orb could, with enough practice, likely allow one to escape those rules and defy logic and nature. He had an idea of how to use that power slightly, but needed more time to practice. For now, though, he needed to find D. As the only one in the Dojo who he'd made any contact with (and a participant in the battle that destroyed it), he'd be the ideal one to turn to at this time.
Plus, he still needed to separate out Draeken's parts. Derrek began looking around for any hints, magical or not, that might lead him to where D was now. THe Binding Threads around this area were frayed and tattered, though many remained in Draeken's colors. Maybe one of those could lead him to wherever Draeken had taken refuge.

"Found it!" Derrek exclaimed to no one in particular. It had taken him a while to sort through the magical strands that lay all around the wreckage. Many were Draeken's, frayed and charred from the massive release of energy. However, Derrek eventually managed to find one that lead to the North. *Far* to the North, if Derrek's guess was correct. Travelling there, even by horse, would take a long time. Deprived of the Dojo, Derrek was eager to find a safe sanctuary for himself. As such, he wished to reach the one person he'd become friends with over the time at the Dojo. But how to get there was the question. Derrek reached into his pocket and withdrew the orb of unbinding.
...well, why not? If Derrek's assumption was right, this orb could, if used correctly, allow something to partially escape the confines of reality and what was possible or not possible. If this were true, the doors to nearly anything, even the impossible, would open. No better time to try it than now. Lifting up the orb of unbinding. Looking down, he sought out the various threads he had seen which bound him to the world that lay around him. Picking at one, he saw that a few of the strands had begin to fray already. He could not determine what that thread governed, but it was not what he was looking for. After touching a three others Derrek tried a fifth. This was what he was looking for. This thread bound him to the natural laws of correspondance and distance. The orb glowed a dark blue as Derrek contemplated this. This could go horribly awry and cause untold damage. Was it worth the risk simply to experiment with magic?
Yes! A definitive move of his hand snapped the thread. When nothing monumental happened immediately afterwords, Derrek looked around for a moment. Nothing appeared wrong. Deciding it must have done nothing, Derrek took a step forward and found himself at the edge of the clearing. Turning around, Derrek saw that the distance he had covered in one step was farther than he ought to have. In fact, that one normal step had moved him ten feet forward. Deciding to experiment, he stepped again and was at the other edge of the clearing. This step had been farther than before, but Derrek had been concentrating. How far did this extend? Reaching out his hand, he grasped upwards and plucked a flower off the ground six feet to his left. Grinning, Derrek marveled at his success. His magic, combined with the snapping of that thread allowed him to attempt feats far greater than what he had imagined himself capable of. Turning to the North, Derrek silently wondered how many steps it would take him to reach Draeken's mansion. A single step and he was deep in the forest. Three more and he was out. Two beyond that and he was gone.

Marching into the crater, the drone turned and seemed to make a "here we are." Display with a forearm. The crater was cold, and dirty, the few remains of things scattered about. Little had survived the blast, nearly nothing at all but ash. A desolate place indeed, if not entirely abandoned. The perfect place for new housing oppurtunities, if one didn't mind building on top a crater.

Bits of plant matter, and ashy wood.
Something caught her offguard. In the grass surrounding the crater from the forest, a small note lay, half burned. She walked over, and picked it up, read the contents, and threw it away.
"Bugger."

Unaware of what might be causing Eva's annoyance, the drone simply awaited her next action. The fact that he'd protected her borther didn't mean much to the drone. The children were young, growing fast, learning fast, but still young. The drone could simply wonder what was going on within their heads, since biological circutry was so oddly defined. In any case, Eva and Kaiden both would probably still want to see their parents at one point or another.
