i'm having trouble in the flute section at school...our section leader sucks and half of the flutes don't give half a flip about what happens anyway. they are PaTHETIC! high school players should not miss notes in concert Bb...it's just sad...any ideas? question

My section leader sucks too! She thinks that she's above us because she is the section leader, so she doesn't practice and she ends up being the one who gets our entire section into trouble for 'messing up the entire song' neutral It totally makes me want to cry crying

I might not play it next year, but I'll keep my instrument or change to Piccolo or Trombone.

I've been playing the flute for about 10 years now and I've been thinking about investing in a piccolo. What tipe of piccolo should I get, metal or plastic? And please recomend a brand if its not to much trouble. mrgreen

And please recomend a brand if its not to much trouble. mrgreen both types are good... and i like gemeinhardt flutes and picclos they sound good

The best kind of piccolo is a wooden gemeinhardt. NEVER get plastic. Get real wood.

But she plays okay, so I don't get on her case (although I did tease her for a while about her tendency to write and scribble all over her book, when I realized that I had her old geometry textbook)

MinorHeaven The best kind of piccolo is a wooden gemeinhardt. NEVER get plastic. Get real wood. What about the silver ones? Mine sounds pretty good!

i love my flute!!! and proudly i was first chair(under a mutual agreement....[how did that happen... it never happens.... we alway fight for first]) well i was first chair for the entire year pretty much! and I'm going back to that school after the highschool's out to teach private lessons! pirate

I play the flute! I'm first chair in my school! I've played for a year -almost two- but I played with the grade above me along with my grade. (They only had 4 flutes on a band of over 60 kids -we have 4 bands and about 60 kids in each, that's over 200 band members O.o)
