It looks like things were quiet in here while I was on vacation. Btw, I'm a co-host in the Celebration Room of the 8th Annual Ball, so make sure that you pop in when it opens. I've been pretty busy with preparations recently. It feels so weird having a job online. I can't imagine how it was for Kenny when he was still modding. But, it is kind of nice having responsibilities. Too bad that I can't put any of this stuff on a resume. lol

So tonight is hopefully my last night in the hospital. I've been here for a week now. To catch you guys up my bowel perforated last week, not entirely so I wasn't like septic or at risk of dying immediately or anything, but I had a CT scan done and it showed small holes in my intestines had formed as a result of my Crohn's disease so I had to go to the ER and I had surgery last Friday to have the whole bad area removed and I've been recovering since. Everything's gone fine and I'm feeling alright, still tired cause you can't get more than an hour or two of sleep at a time around here without being woken up but I digress. Doctor says I should be able to go home tomorrow though so here's hoping and now back to walking circles around the nurses' station to show I'm healthy.

That's pretty awful Kenny. It's good to hear you're feeling better though, hopefully everything will keep improving.
Are they curing you of Crohn's or just treating the symptoms? I forget if you said if they can get rid of it, or if you'll have it all your life.

I'm pretty sure that Crohn's is something you have for life. There is a guy I know irl who had to have a similar operation. I remember at one point he had a bag that his waste went into because of something with his intestines, but that was only for a few months. But I am glad to hear that he is doing better.
I'm not having any luck finding a job. I'm thinking about getting a part time job while I look. I'm broke. xp

Been home for a little over a week now, have to say it is so much nicer than the hospital ><.
I'm doing fine, no complications and feel good and my incision is healing up nicely so I'll be back to normal soon.
I'll always have the possibility of it coming back cause there isn't any actual cure for it, but they said with this type of surgery, if I do get it it wouldn't be until awhile down the road.

That's the hope anyway.
Also, failtastic update, my house got hit by lightning. No fire or structural damage but it fried a bunch of the electronic stuff that was plugged in xp

YOUR HOUSE GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING?!!! eek Wow! That's awful! And that's so strange! I thought that houses were grounded so that nothing would get messed up. I guess I was wrong. But, wow! How often does that happen? xp
I'm glad to hear that your health will be much better. I hope you won't ever have a relapse. The whole things sounds awful.
@Skippy - I graduated with BA in English, so I'm trying to find any job that I can that can use someone with my credentials. I've been checking several different places, but none of them have responded. I wish I could just go back to school and get my MA right now so I wouldn't have to worry about the job search until later.

No fire or structural damage but it fried a bunch of the electronic stuff that was plugged in xp That's...holy ********. oO I dunno, I wouldn't call this a bad hand. No structural damage or fire, and no one died. I'd trade that in for my electronics. But that does really suck though. Hopefully it can be covered under some kind of warranty or insurance. I know if all the electronics in my house got fried that would be close to (most likely more) 10k worth of damage. I just got back from the Red River Ex (basically the fair/carnival, whatever you want to call it). Had a great time on all the rides, and I won the girl I'm interested in a green monkey and one of the giant teddy bears.
