No experience in public bathhouses meant he followed close behind her as they entered and slipped into water that was slightly milky in color. Apparently it smelled good and had rejuvenating cleansing properties so that people weren't constantly bathing in other people's grime. That was good at least, but not what made him hesitate. The water was warm and it sizzled slightly when he got in, steam rising off his bare shoulders as a burning sensation recoiled in his gut. But Jae seemed fine... so he just scrubbed and washed as quickly as he could before stepping back out and wrapping one of the provided cloths around his lower body. The burning ache traveled up his chest, making him rub at his neck with a frown. Maybe he just wasn't used to whatever chemicals were in that water... At least he wasn't trying to drink it. So he sat and watched her work, until a blink at her request which made him stand and turn around to expose his tail, which flicked lightly in anticipation... Or was it agitation?

Okay it was worrisome that he was more or less evaporating water...she was sure that it was him with the temperature problem now and that was even more worrisome. Frankly she was surprised he was so compliant...or maybe it was just the fact that most didn't touch his tail but him, espcially where it more or less connected into his spine and thus he wasn't used to how actually sensitive that was when you weren't the one doing the touching. Or maybe he just wasn't. Wading over to him she reached out and lightly placed her hands on his tail, using fingers to measure a bit. She had all her own measurements in her head but not his. Jae tried not to prod too much, seeing as she wasn't sure of his reaction. "I'm good." Indeed his lack of questioning was weird as well. But she merely went to work on his pants, repeating the process and then going about working on tops, slashing two slits up the backs and poking holes for lacing. That accomodated for wings then. Handing him thus the two articles of clothing, she got herself out of the water and dried before pulling on her own clothes, though slight pain was making her take more effort. "We need to get back to the ship now." Getting food dropped to the bottom of her priority list...he just didn't seem well. Granted she could effect his temperature with ice and the like but that meant being in natural form on her part. Which was impractical at the moment.

There were sharp prickles everywhere, traveling up his chest, into his neck and back down again... Not itchy, so he didn't scratch. But it was just uncomfortable, slightly painful even. He stared down at himself, flipping over his arms to inspect them and whatnot. If he was having a reaction to the bathhouse water, it should be visible soon. But nothing showed up and he was momentarily jolted from his thoughts when she touched the sensitive base of his tail, throwing him off balance for a moment and nearly back into the water. "Sorry... Thank you." Hmm, getting uneasy and distracted now. Something was off and he couldn't explain it, which made him dislike it even more. But he refocused long enough to change into the new clothes and walked back out into the streets with her, sunlight streaking down onto his newly clothed body making his throat tighten. Reflexive coughing in response, he merely nodded to her. Things were getting hazy, and why were these fabrics so heavy? "Jae... what exactly was in that water?"

He was still acting strange, only making her more and more worried...he was just never strange acting like he was now. And the coughing made her close the deal on her decisions. "I don't think anything out of the normal from other places..." Taking anything he was holding from him and stepping behind him, her pressed a hand between his wings on his pack and started to pushing to the ship. She could feel the heat coming off of him even through his clothes. And yes she merely ignored anyone in passing as they did board the ship and she continued to push him till he was below deck in a corner. Granted they had no bedding and the like down but she could fix that quick. "Sit."
Pushing him to sit down she grabbed a rag from their things and cracked open one of the water barrels down there. That water was of course cooler since it was kept below deck...somehow though she felt her actions were being guided more by some kind of instinct than any logic truly going on in her head. Wetting the rag she wrang it out and came back to him, plopping it across his forehead as she duly started to go about stripping him of his clothes, care for modesty or anything be damned. If he was that hot he didn't need anything on to make him more so by trapping heat. It was odd...she's seen him sick with fever before but he wasn't sweating or anything...it was almost frightening really.

"Crazy is fine. he's looking over the charts you sent and planning ahead. We have his...replacement to the Prince on board, and thier hatching some other off the wall plan with that in mind. "
though she did notice Kanzec and Bell get back and Bell take Kanzec directly below deck.
"We'll be ready when you are, and full prepared. if we do run across dragonkind, keep the kid out of sight. it might not look well. Not that he's dangerous, but golds are extremely rare anymore. a metallic will probably assume first that he was kidnapped. especially a steel."

Nothing out of the ordinary... which really translated into she had no clue what was happening to him either. And all the sunlight beaming down on them didn't help his train of thought either. Mind tangenting like crazy to think up solutions, he shuffled along in front of her as she directed him back to the ship and into the hull where all the heat waves seemed to be congregated. Another mild bout of coughs and he plopping down, attention immediately drawn to a tight focus on the sloshing sounds made as she tried to do what she could for him. Licking his lips, he glanced up at amber eyes. It was Jae, he instinctively trusted her but even if he wanted to, he couldn't quite describe these physical feelings. "It's hot here... now..." And as if on cue, red droplets started to fall from his nose onto freshly cleaned skin. If he was in his right mind, he would have been relieved and glad to know that he wasn't dirtying the new clothes she'd made.

“Hopefully he won’t try to get us killed again. It’s really not very charming at all and you and I both know he can be charming.” It was kind of funny that her and Desi were indeed getting along so well, what with Hunter being quite the fuss in the beginning. Women, they bonded over such things didn’t they? But a worried look at passing dragons…hm, that didn’t seem good. A look to the little one again and a nod to Desi…that made full sense and she frankly didn’t want to tangle with dragons anymore. “I’m beginning to think these steels are bipolar.”
Blood made her freeze a moment in her actions. Any little change she was keen to now and even a little sign that she was doing more good than harm would help right her mind. Jae was stating to panic and at the same time was trying to reel her thoughts back in, get into a strategy mindset…yet she couldn’t help but think with her heart before her head. Framing his face with her hands she tilted his head to get a look at his eyes. They were already starting to slit. But she tried to make sense of his words as her mind raced with options. “It’s too hot for you in here? Is that it too?” He was out of the sun but the mugginess of the hull served as a replacement. Stupid! Why didn’t she think of that! Come on brain, work! She could think this through, just had to focus.
Okay, he was overly hot but not in the classic hot or the sick hot. His body was in distress from being so, evidences by blood, the temperature of his skin, coughing as if he was stifling, and the half out of it way he was reacting which was not Kaznec at all. Her brain quickly started to piece things together, “Fire.” Heat was an extension of fire, and it was no secret that the heat was more intense from all the glass nearby. Okay she knew the problem or had guessed to the best of her ability based on what she was seeing in him. Now she needed a solution and she drew on what she did know of elemental affinity in each of their states…it made sense in her mind. This was why they couldn’t perform magic and other elemental things in neutral state…their bodies couldn’t process the temperature changes or the sheer power of it all.
“Kaznec, look at me. Listen Kaznec. We need to go outside and I need you to shift forms. You have to do that for me Kaznec.” Using his name to try and keep his attention at all costs. She was more or less banking on the fact that if he switched forms, his body would be able to process the heat better through reflecting away from him with his scales, more distribution over his body and venting, and maybe a breath or two of fire would get out excess as well. He’d have to stay like that a while which brought in the issue of his limitations…but this could be the only way to stabilize things out. A bit of ice would probably help too since his body temperature would be more environment inclined and if ice was closer than reflect heat his body would cue on it more. Of course she had to switch forms to do that as well, thus the need to get him outside anyway. Jae would have to watch from lowering him too much and causing even more issues.
Wiping at blood some with the rag from his forehead she went about pulling him up, letting him lean against her and supporting all his weight. Him in the crow’s nest all night and late morning sun probably kick started his over heating from exposure and it was just a boulder down a hill now. “Come on Kaznec, trust me on this.” Would get him outside and on the shady sides of ships at least, get him to change and start praying for the best to happen. If it didn’t…she was going to lose it herself. But for the moment her mind was on one track and she didn’t take the time to ask for help or anything. Though she was sure this was going to become quite the scene.

"well not bipolar...but they as a clan have been the worst of the metallics assaulted by lesser races. many because they thought steel dragons must have steel scales. not just that their coloring is that. So they've become very untrusting of other races. and they aren't on good terms with most the metallic clans, because they choose to keep isolated, and are violent to the same. they complain of no help, but they make themselves hard to find to help."
A slight smirk.
"I think he's calmed considerably so far. I think with this mess with the Prince getting over with, everything will smooth out. he's due to show up tom sometime, and I doubt it matter where we'll be at."

"I can understand that...though at the same time it's sheer stupidity. A dragon with true scales of steel would never get himself off the ground, even I know that." Dragons scales were surprisingly lightweight but highly durable. Which is why so many ships tried to get hold of them for hull plating. Shaking her head, "They're just like the men of any other species then. Hardheaded and selfserving." Tilting her head though. "Let's just hope not in that glass so much that it causes troubles. I like me and my ship being in once piece."

"Open my ears." He could do that. Reaching up to his human ears, he held them at the backs and nodded. "THEY'RE OPEN NOW!" But then Desdemona popped up and he more or less hid behind Gem because she was mean to him more often than not. He knew they were talking about him and listened for a bit then glanced down at his scales. "I'm not rare! I gots lots of brothers and sisters." He did, he knew he did, he just didn't know where they were.
Hadn't he just said he didn't wanna get wet? Now she was confused but quite relieved as Xeke popped up and she bounced happily. "Xeke! I'm...sorry?" But back to Logan and she buzzed angrily in his face. "You're bein' rude again!" Xeke had just answered his question and he'd all but ignored him!

"Not rare, hmm? tell me, how many other gold dragons have you ever seen?"
Desdemona crosed her arms lightly with a tilt of her head.
"I've been around a long time. and I've only ever seen three."

She couldn't help but chuckle at the little dragon before it seemed he had just been upset. Patting between his horns on top of his hat she looked to soothe him lightly. "You have lots of sibling do you?" Well they weren't with him...or were they just tucked away in the brothel? Turning a look to Desi and rolling her eyes. "Don't be mean, he's just a dragonling."

"I'm not being mean. if he knows that somewhere there's a clan of golds, for certain, then that would be big news in the dragon community. Golds have always been pretty rare for as long as I can remember. Thier powerful dragons. one of the few kinds that can wield mortal magic in neutral and natural forms."
Glancing down at the dragonling again.
"Only silvers can do it besides golds. but silvers are mostly loners, family groups at best. and they prefer to keep to thier own affairs over getting involved. Golds are more like the rest of us, clan based. they can be much easier convinced to help others if the need arises."

"I wasn't trying to be..." Logan sighed, the heat was getting to him a little, he needed to get inside the boat before the heat fried his brain. "Well the if people want to risk getting themselves cooked then that's fine by me, I on the other hand rather live where the sun wasn't being forced into my face all the time." He wasn't all too pleased to have another Seon around but they could pop up anywhere so Logan needed to get use to that. "What is beyond this sea anyway?"

Yes, blood... Even without bringing a hand up to catch a few of the drops, he knew that. But he still did it, rubbing the crimson liquid between his fingertips for a moment and watching the stains intermingle. Like her, his mind was acknowledging the changes and trying to work through the meaning of it all. Unfortunately, his mind was still hazy and it was hard to stay focused on the new symptom. Her hands got his attention though and indeed slitted pupils stared back at her even as his body fixated on how cold and... soothing her touch was. Her words were lost on him for the moment; all he knew was that he needed more of it, more of her touch. Skin to skin.
Which worked nicely for the moment because he felt himself tugged to his feet and he instinctively wrapped an arm around her shoulders, hands perhaps gripping her more tightly than was necessary to keep himself stable. Breathing accelerating more as sunlight hit his skin again, he glanced around, somewhat confused. Why were they outside again? Well, he supposed that didn't matter much seeing as she was still here and she seemed to be able to make him feel better. Which was imperative at this point, the suffocating feeling was coming back... The words streamed through his mind again: skin to skin. Thus grabbing her rather roughly, he pulled her flush against him until they were chest to chest and his tail sought to entangle with her own. "I trust you." Trusted her to be the answer to his problems at least.
A buzz of acknowledgment. "It seems I'm kind of behind on the newsflash. Didn't you sign up to come with us, halfling? You volunteered to get yourself cooked." But blue light suddenly dimmed and the Seon started vibrating in what could only be an anxious manner. Hmm... things were getting out of hand. "I wouldn't worry about that. Top priority is getting across this sea."
