Jami nodded and gently held her against him. He brushed away the occasional tear that ran down her cheek, wishing he could do more. "I don't know of any way to deal with second personalities. However, I did read of a technique that allows one to view the mind of another. If you wanted me to, I could try...."

"I don't think it's a second personality...she just talks. She doesn't intervene or push her way into anything... It's like she has all of the gall to do things that I could never dream of...dark things... I think she's just an unexplored part of my concience..." Alyssa said, resting her head on his shoulder. "You can try, if you want...she doesn't listen to me."

Jami nodded and gently buried his fingers into her mane of red hair. "Don't worry. I know that this is a Padawan level technique, since Leia Organa Solo performed it on her brother once. Hold on...." He closed his eyes and delved into her mind....
He felt his way around the darkness of her mind, a few stray thoughts whipping by him. Still, he felt nothing of the dark presence Alyssa had told him about....

Jami turned around quickly and saw her, or at least the metaphorical her. "Alyssa, I presume?" To anyone looking at his physical body, it was as if he was in a trance, but mentally he was very alert and very aware of Alyssa's dark conscience.

Jami smiled lightly and shook his head. "Perhaps. Though it could be that she doesn't often need to fight her own battles since people don't tend to pick fights with her. What else is wrong?"

"So Sephiroth exiles us from the Temple. So what? Sephiroth needs the Jedi, not the other way around, and he fails to see that. At this rate, the entier Jedi order will be exiled except for one or two who follow his every whim. I'm content to follow his orders, but if he exiles us, then we'll find a way to live happily."

"I would throw away my life for this 'little girl'. Apparently you don't understand what it means when one person cares for another." Jami smiled lightly and began assaulting her with his feelings for Alyssa, how it felt to be around her, how his heart rate quickened at the mere thought of her. His attempts were very clumsy at first, but slowly became surer.

The dark Alyssa began to flinch as beams of light flowed out of Jami into her spirit. Light began to pour out of her eye sockets, mouth, and ears. Then, another Alyssa, this one dressed in the usual loose pants and shirt, picked the dark spirit up with the Force and performed the same roundhouse kick she had done before onto the other's head. The explosion of light from the spirit's form shoved the spirits of both Jami and Alyssa into their bodies.

Jami opened his eyes, shaking his head. "Alright. Nothing like that has ever happened before in any of the books I've read. Unless there was that time with Exar Kun...." Jami shook his head and gazed down at Alyssa. "Are you alright?"
