This Thursday we had a concert and I got an improv solo for "The Game of Love". It was amazing! I got nervous, though, but I guess I did alright!

I'm having a concert next week and my flute got broken and it won't be fix until monday (which thats when the concert will start). Now I can't practice. I'm so angry and nervous at the same time!! mad sad
I'm dead on monday.

Thats alright, we have a concert in a week and i've had a viral infection in my lungs and have missed 2 weeks of school and i havent even SEEN the new music... but I'll crank one out, that's why I'm 1st chair.

Our concert is in like a month and I'm sick and tired of the music-- because some people can't play we've been doing the same songs for months

I'm a flute... We have a concert on the 22nd.... it annoys me though... because the trumpets and clarinets and tubas can't get their part correct!

so there are these girls who are trying to kick me out of the flute section for some reason.... I'm a fairly decent player but they think there should only be 5 flutes in our marching band this year, yes 5! why should we have only 5 when the flute is one of the softer instruments! they've already psyched last years freshmen flute girls and they'll try with the new batch of them coming next year!! it's so agrivating!

I play flute and have for 2 1/2 years. It is SOOOOOOOOOOO much fun! I love the music that our band plays, and our band director is AWESOME! heart heart heart heart

Hi, I'm new. I just started playing the flute this year and let me just say that it is AWESOME.
Uhm, not much going on band-wise, but I do have honor band try-outs coming up. We have to play the scales we learned both octaves (G, F, Bb, Eb, and Ab), the whole chromatic scale, and an excerpt of music. The only problem I'm having is I don't know the entire G (I have a hard time remembering the fingering for high F# most of the time), Bb, and Ab scale. Otherwise I think I might make it. smile
All of the beginners this year were flutes, all four of us. We were supposed to start last year but they let us join this year. So it's a lower chance that I'll make it. The two other flutes really annoy me and my best friend because they think they're so much better than us (which they sorta are, at least for me, but for her they're practically the same) and one of them absolutely hates my best friend guts and actually admitted that if she had to do an ensemble with her she would shoot her brains out. So yeah. We're trying to avoid them from killing us. biggrin
