Pistil yenyit Pistil yenyit Pistil No astigmatism, just myopia (near-sightedness) and strabissmus ('lazy-eye'). And I just learned people with myopia usually have bad night vision. o.O Of course, my eyes are just one big anomaly - the lazy eye is supposed to have worse vision than the 'strong' eye, yet it's the other way around for me. I spent half an hour trying to convince the eye-lady that my left eye is stronger than my right and she was all "No way, that's impossible!" and checked my eyes anyway. Lo and behold, once that was over she was all "Wtf?! You're all backwards!" I'm near-sighted 3nodding ...I dunno how good my night vision is though...she actually said wtf? xd crying no. That's what it looked like she was thinking, she really said something like: "Well... I just can't believe it. How can your lazy eye have better vision?" sweatdrop lol...hmm...maybe the lazy eye is better cuz it's used less cuz it's lazy But you would think it's lazy because it doesn't work as good as the good eye. That eye can also go blind if it doesn't get used very often at a young age. Hence my nerdiness and wearing a patch over my good eye to strengthen my bad one. mad I went for surgery at eight to 'fix' my lazy eye. It's not fixed, but not noticeable unless I tell someone. >< It also means I don't have very good depth perception, as I don't really see things in 3D - more like 2.5D (looking with one eye, all peripheral vision with other). Explains a lot of things like my clumsiness, fear of heights, etc. Also the reason I know I wouldn't make a good surgeon - dissecting animals in university proved that: *make shallow incision* Me: ... O.O ... *misses* ... *misses* ... *barely touches* ... *too deep* DAMMIT! lol my couisin has to wear a patch cuz she has a lazy eye too lol...go get it refixed lol...maybe you should have gotten your partner to dissect instead? lol sweatdrop

It took me a while after the surgery before I could consciously use my left eye without closing my right eye first, now I do it without thinking (I especially like going "Left eye, right eye, left eye, right eye. Left right left right leftrightleftrightleftright BOTH" to my friends as they watch me switch eyes, creeps them out). The only thing my left eye can't do is read things up close - like a book - because my right eye wants to take over so I get double vision and lose my spot. stare The fact that my eyes are always halfway closed (mentioned before) helps hide the fact that they aren't quite aligned. My lab partner didn't want to do the incision. mad But then there's also the: *lift muscle gently out of place to view bone underneath* Me: *tears muscle out with tweezers* twisted

Once someone can see that my eyes aren't straight, they notice when I switch eyes.
