If it's getting that late probably should....
Daemon replied back uncertainly.
I would suggest if there is any large tree to take shelter by it's trunk, it's not perfect but it'll do. If there are pine trees those might be better, thought quite prickly...

Any way to avoid trees? Gion asked hopefully. What if I burrow or something? Like the animals do?

Yes, if you burrowed into the snow it would provided insolation. Despite the coldness of it, it'll keep heat in actually.... people use to build small huts out of snow at one time in a place where there is never any summer or spring as you know it.
Daemon was embarassed he hadn't thought about it, and all those survival skills he was taught in school. Well it wasn't like he was outside for this long anyhow back home.

At least it would keep him out of the wind at least was Daemon's thoughts, really it wasn't so cold it was the stupid wind that made it colder.

Gion dug until he had a hole in the drift big enough for him to lie down in and tall enough for him to sit up without slouching, then pulled out his pack and took a long drink from a canteen.
Warm in here, he thought to Daemon happily. Could be quite comfortable ... even without the blanket.
He looked down at his snowy floor. Though ... I think I may need to change my pants come morning, he added, unless I sleep on my blanket instead of under it ...

It's going to soak through.

After all your body heat is going to be melting the snow all night.

Gion shrugged. I'll just sleep on the blanket then, maybe it won't be quite as bad, he decided. I mean I'm going to have to sleep on the ground no matter what. I can't levitate after all.

Yes, every winter we would have snow... how much varied though a good snowfall is always good.

How long does it take to melt? Gion questioned, munching on some naekeurtsl. Back at the castle, Yukito's snow melted almost right away ... but it was a lot hotter there ... obviously.
He chuckled.
But what about when there's this much of it? And it's this cold?

It takes a while, it doesn't warm up right away, and some days it gets colder just as it is getting warmer.... I'd tell you when it usually melts but our months are different.
As Daemon discovered evenually over time.
There's usually quite a bit, at least enough to play in. I can't tell you if it's this cold, partly because I don't know how cold it is.
