Seeing the water ball come right at him, Jonah shifted the earth underneath his feet to slide himself to the left. The water ball passed right by him, leaving him open to do a return attack. Jonah went about doing an intricate foreward stepping motion, pivoting a few times with a few violent stomps. This created a series of stone lances to shoot out of the ground right at Rave from the front and both sides, but their tips were blunt as to not cause any serious damage. Since it was a spar, blood was unecessary.

"Perfect, just tire him out..." Since Jonah was an earthbender, he had a greater capacity for stamina and endurance. Bending the element of substance required the bender to be tough, on the inside and on the outside. Even though Jonah was a tall and slim person, his well-defined muscles said he was an earthbender with a good amount of practice.

As he sat, watching the ensuing match between the Water Bender and the Earth Bender, Zorin felt a small feeling of boredom creeping up to him. Lazily, he stood up and brushed the dirt from his pants, not that it was going to shake any off of the filthy cloth. As he looked around, he saw one of his instructor’s companions walking around with scrolls under his arms on the opposite side of the room. Raising an eyebrow, Zorin decided to go see what he was doing. Making an effort to walk around the wall as to keep out of the fights way, he headed to the scroll holding person. As Zorin approached, they dropped the scrolls and began to practice from one in particular. Zorin was on the same wall as the person when they suddenly shifted their stance and performed a strange technique Zorin had never seen. The ground trembled as the ground in front of his feet shifted up in a sort of ramp. Zorin nodded his head at this and leaned against the wall to see what they would do next.

(I just remembered something Fulgar; the character I started with in the water tribe was originally blind in one eye. I guess he’s been cured.)

Fulgar smiled, “fu-san” it sounded so funny, and apparently was cute like a bunny. But whatever, it didn’t matter what he was called as long as it wasn’t “ding bat” he’d always hated that, thought it was rather silly. “Shopping district sounds good, not much else to go to besides that, maybe I can find some fun stuff to play with. I’ve still got a pocket full of money, I think about half of it is gold pieces.” Fulgar had obtained quite a bit of cash through his traveling, mostly working for people hauling hay and things like that, not his favorite thing in the world, but it paid well enough to keep him on his feet, he’d also learned a lot from his employers, such as how to create make-shift weapons, and hunt. Fulgar walked beside Kurai he had both hands behind his head and was listening to Kurai talk about some new job, at first he’d thought he heard her stutter when she said “head for new job” but it didn’t really matter he passed it off for nothing, he didn’t want to pry or anything. “Yeah, if we find that vender, I’m buying.” Fulgar said, he’d never felt right if he had a girl buy him things, or if he had to rely on anyone to buy him things, it wasn’t polite to do that. The sun had finally set, and the walls of Omashu cast great shadows all along the road that they walked on.

Kurai surprised him when she turned around and started walking backwards. She asked him to teach her the healing technique. “It doesn’t heal anything.” Fulgar said trying to get his thoughts straight to explain a little better. “We aren’t waterbenders we can’t heal” he started again, “what I did was heat the blood around your wound to stimulate the blood cells to thicken and clot together to seal the wound. What I can also do is relax aching muscles. To fully be able to do something like this you need to act somewhat like a waterbender. Sometimes people’s qi can be blocked or ‘clogged’ by regulating your qi along with the warmth produced through firebending you can help to get the qi moving correctly or ‘unclog’ it.” Fulgar wondered if she got it, or if his explanation sucked. “It wasn’t overly complicated to learn how to do something like that, but it wasn’t the easiest technique either, Fulgar had thought of it when he fell down a hill, his knee had been badly bruised and hurt like crazy, ice wasn’t easing the pain, so he warmed it and that eased the ache away, he began studying qi or “chi” to see if there was another way he could do this technique and have more of an effect, there was by using his own life force he could cleanse someone.

“Um, Kurai, there is something I need to talk to you about. Your training isn’t even nearly finished, but I have to leave Omashu sometime soon most likely within the next few weeks. I was wondering if you would come with me to the air temples to master firebending with me.” Fulgar had been thinking about this for the past few days, he’d been in Omashu for some time now, he’d become a better firebender thanks to his teacher, now he’d taken on teaching someone else, he didn’t want to leave her here with her firebending at this stage, now it was easiest for her to lose control of it, he’d never liked doing things half-a** he didn’t want something so important to be left unfinished. “I don’t really want to leave, I’ve made such good friends here, but I have to. Kurai, I would like you to come with me to the air temple, we can master firebending together, and you can complete your training. I’ll be leaving within the next few weeks. It’s up to you, if you don’t want to go, that’s fine. I will be coming back when I master fire, if you stay you’ll need another teacher, if that’s what you want I’ll find one suitable for you before I have to leave.”

Kami found a decent piece of land, she jumped, taking the fire staff with her. She stood on top of a tree. With some of the fire from the blazing infurno, she made it long. She made it so long that she could put it on the ground and still have some heading into the air from the 20 foot tree. She smiled slightly, "As soon as I find the Avatar, I will finally be happy. That's something no one can take from me!"

The fire blazed higher, the heat making Kinzo sweat. The woman had jumped in the air and performed fantastic fir bending. The quicksand had not worked, it seemed, but he wasn't so sure as to stop there. "I must focus regardless of this heat. My powers can overcome this. The sand is my best bet so far. Even though this may not be going my way, I have to make something of it." Kinzo flew the sand upwards at the airborne Kami and made to wrap around her whole body with the sand, to capture her and send her plummeting to the ground. It whirled around her, closing in on her from all angles, even from down below and above. The sweat on Kinzo was left unfelt, his focus reverted towards the airborne bender and the sand that would hopefully soon surround her.

((I wasn't sure whether that blazing inferno was sent for me or not, so I roleplayed as if it were just expanding the fire for you, and not actually heading for me.))

Kami saw the sand a moment before it came, which was the perfect time. She created a shell of fire around her body, so the sand turned to rock. She pushed out, and the rock-hard sand broke, "You won't get me with that lousy trick," she snarled.
