Chloris was enjoying the night with their team leader and teaching him to dance. So when asking for the walk, she had not meant to stare into his eyes...not for so long at least."Why is he staring,"She thought before his gaze would look to the other half of their team then return to looking at her. Feeling a small smile on her lips, she waited for his response. Her smile was a happy one at his agreement to walk with her."I'm glad,"She replied as she would walk beside her tall companion, his comment making her absently think of home as they would look to the sky."I can't argue with that. Though not as clear as back home, it is rather pretty,"She agreed, though it was never to be her rural Mistral where the night skies were like a sea of stars, she did enjoy it. So distracted was she by the skies. The small talk was pleasant, but the silence was comfortable as well. And then the games would begin with either a small shove or a playful poke. A night that she would never want to forget.

XXXThe woman would freely shake her head in denial, black and red locks of hair spurring in a mad frenzy with the motion. When had focusing ever done the woman any good? Act, don't think, it was always her motto for life! Focusing on something for too long always got in the way and caused issues. ... Then again, by thinking that, she's focusing on whether or not its good for her to focus on something. Therefor, this entire train of thought has been made null and completely pointless. Right? ... Who even cared? "Whatever you say bun-bun~ Just keep that semblance focused on me and you might just get out alive~" Rachel's words were growing far more playful the more she talked, as she was still in direct contact with the bunny boy and his intoxicating semblance. This was exactly what she needed to calm down and get through the night. The boy's semblance was much slower than just chugging bottles herself, but it did seem to be effective after long enough. ... Too bad patience was never one of her strong suits, or else she might as for his services again. Perhaps next time, he'll get a bag of jerky! Nothing mattered anymore as her already frazzled mind became clouded and cheeks redded with the alcohol coursing through her system, or seeming so at the very least. At his introduction, Rachel couldn't help but let out a most obnoxious laugh right in the poor boy's ears before displaying another toothy grin. "Bun bun, I ain't EVER gonna remember that name of yours. Rachel Anderson, or RAAAAAAAAAA" Tossing her head back, she'd shout RAAAA at the top of her lungs as a roar. She always thought it was a silly play on her name, Rachel Artemis Anderson, to simply scream to get her attention. If someone tried it though, it would certainly get her attention. At the mention of chicken, her cyan eyes lit up like precious gemstones dazzling in the sunlight. "Chicken!? Oh bun-bun, you've got yourself a right answer there!" Without hesitation, Rachel would pick up the boy and whisk him away to the food table. She could certainly smell the delicious poultry, and now with a fun bun by her side, they would devour everything.
Ren nodded as he kept holding onto her arm as they moved onward to the table of feasts as he could see pretty much her trying to freely fight the argument about her mind. She told him to keep his semblance on her and he did, and soon enough after he said his name, she told him it wasn't one to help her remember, and instead she roared her name as if it was a joke, causing Ren to chuckle happily. Soon, he could see her eyes turn from Tea Saucers to like full-sized Plates as she stared at him before he chuckled and soon shouted, "YES! LET US PARTAKE OF THE CHICKEN FEAST!" He screamed in delight as they got to the food table, with the intent of eating EVERYTHING on it! From the chicken, to the little tiny square cheeses, and even the PUNCH or poor punch, it was not spared being used to help down their food throughout the remainder of the night!

XXXThe young huntress was still clinging to the boy quite tightly in a most affectionate hug. This was all while in awe at the closet that had been filled to the bring with gorgeous dresses and replacements for the two. It was her curious sandy orbs that locked onto those of an electric blue as Eli began to explain the endeavor that was acquiring all these clothes. A task that had defied the improbable and certainly made them all question his methods. Her little head would tilt more and more in curiosity as he began a woman by the name of Lafalle as well as her methods. To think that someone could find a way to utilize his spider silk for something was beyond her, but more curiously was how it resulted in the production of such wondrous dresses. "She did it for... your silk? ... Would... Would she do it again?" Not meaning to be greedy, but it was an inevitable question. Sandy orbs would dart down, feeling an odd sickening sense of greed at such a question. Eli had already done so much for her, far more than he ever needed to... But the question wasn't one out of place! She was someone that needed clothes at a constant rate, so it was only natural to ask. ... Right? If she could produce the silk herself and get clothing in exchange, she'd do so in a heartbeat as she knew Eli would as well. There was always a limit though, and it was something she was always afraid to push in one way or another. After all, time and time again he went above and beyond for her sake. It was he who accomplished a task that no other could for her and her alone. As much as she hated to admit it, she could never begin to repay everything he had done for her. So the thought of asking for more while necessary had always felt needy and displeasurable for her. When would it be too much? Where was the limit in that far too large heart of his? Nox's words would echo in her mind. He was a keeper, but... Was she? To think such a series of negative and curious thoughts could melt away the moment she felt his lips atop her head. All the worry, all the guilt... It shattered, withered away to dust just as everything did against her semblance. A bubble of warmth would swell inside her chest, pressing against her ribs before spreading through her body as a whole. Panicked thoughts of her not being good enough would be chased back to the darkness as they shared one last smile. So tender and sweet, her sandy hues dazzling in admiration. They both shared such a similar expression, a gentle smile as they gazed deep into one another's eyes... Even if it was only for a moment, one could clearly see the love that kindled between them.
It was within the confines of the closet that she and Yenna began to work on presenting themselves in a most dazzling way. The rabbit faunus had a clear fascination of the dress she presented, so eager to try it on. If it was necessary, Cali would use her gloved fingers to help her change and get fitted into it. A sleeveless dress that hugged her hips and curves, giving them a definition that they often lacked. The pure white fabric complimented her hair color, while the red fabric roses worked in turn with her eyes as well as the hair from her ears. A wonderful medley of white mixed with shades of red that formed a most fascinating combination... It was one that Cali found herself admiring, almost wishing that she herself could be so colorful. It was her matching brown eyes and hair combined with pale skin that left her rather plain. It was so hard for her to stand out, especially when makeup and other products vanished in an instant against her skin. All she could use was fabric she had at her disposal and even then it was so short lived. ... That considered, it never stopped her from trying. Tonight though, she had another idea. There was one dress in particular that she was saving, once she saw the style that Eli was dressing in. Conversations between the two would dull as Cali finished slipping into her dress and grabbing a second pair of heels. Not nearly as nice as those she gave to Yenna, but ones that would accommodate for her size.
Soon enough, a soft knock sounded against the door. The handle would rattle before the door would begin to creak open. First, of course, Cali would allow Yenna to step out and flaunt the gorgeous dress that she picked out for her. The white and red fabric roses that wrapped around her legs most certainly accommodate for her cutesy style, while the dress itself wrapped and to make her frame look more mature. In all honesty, it was stunning. The anxious girl would let Yenna have her moment in the spotlight. Instead of popping out immediately, she'd lean against the door, trying to catch her breath... Why was she nervous anyway? Hadn't Eli already seen her in all these dresses? ... Wasn't it Eli who did all of this for her? So now.. Why did she have this anxious bubble welling up, threatening to burst? Her own lack of confidence was like a most potent toxin, trying so desperately to rot any desire to impress she had. This rot that ate away at everything around her now seemed to seep in her soul, feeding off her anxiety. ... But why? Why should she give in to it, especially tonight of all nights? It was tonight that she smiled so brilliantly in the warm embrace of her shining knight, her handsome prince. It was they who stepped through the portal that led them to a world of autumn unlike any they've seen before. Tonight plans were made for a much-needed trip of relaxation after Nox had coaxed her out of her shell for but a moment. It was tonight that Cali took initiative for the wellbeing of someone that wasn't in her little bubble. So many events had stacked together to make tonight more than she could've ever imagined, so... Why would she let the demon within known as anxiety take hold now?
It was tonight and only tonight that she would say no.
Breathing exercises were important in times of desperation, times of panic. As the trio waited out the door for her, she pressed her back to the door and tried just that. To breath. So carefully sucking air between the thin gaps in her clutched teeth, her chest would expand. In turn, she felt the anxiety press so firmly against her inner walls... Gnawing and clawing, trying so attentively to pop. As much as it hurt, as much as she begged for it to stop... It would keep at it as she held the breath in her chest until she finally released. As her ribs sunk back down, as her chest compressed, she could feel the change. A sense of distant ease beginning to work its way through her system... As the air left her lungs, the gnawing and clawing at her core would exhale with it. Becoming softer, growing lighter. Until the pain had dulled to nonexistent... Until she could breathe for at least a moment without popping. This was her moment. Her window of opportunity. To finally act, before it could creep back in and consume her. Sandy hues opened wide with her head raised high. Her gloved fingers would curl around the door handle as the door finally opened, the click of a heel tapping against the floor.
It took what felt like ages, but surely couldn't have been more than a few drawn out moments... Perhaps the trio would've noticed her hesitance, something to be expected from the girl who represented anxiety embodied. Notably, the lights in the closet were off. Brown orbs would gaze through sandy locks towards Eli from the shadows as she took her first step forward, focusing on him and him alone as motivation to step out. As the lights of the hallway illuminated her, it became so obvious why she blended so finely with the shadows. It was her ball gown, one of black and grays with no sleeves. The fabric wrapped so neatly around her torso as dense black frills cascaded down her right. The material was clearly different from the grey chiffon that it cascaded over, a transparent material that expanded to the left. In the first light, the rimstones embedded on her left side would glisten to draw attention. In a clash with the darker tones of her dress, her cheeks had a noticeable pink hue to them. Heels would click over and over as she stepped towards Eli. Sandy orbs would dash back and forth between Yenna and Nox before carefully slipping her arm to hook with his opposing sleeve, one that hadn't suffered from her already. "I..I thought... I'd try to match you..." As softened words escaped her lips, her arm would tighten around his own. With each worth, her body would shift ever so close to his, wanting to be tucked against him. Pale brown orbs would glance up at him, a meek smile forming on her lips though the pink hues deepened. "M..maybe we could try to.. get a picture, when we get back..?" It was from there that the transition from the closet to the ball melded together so seamlessly. After all, the night for team DECO was still so young.
Which brings us to now. Cali's delicate arms were wrapped around Eli's frame, sandy hues gazing up at those of a vivid electric blue. The night up until now didn't have more than a moment away from the excitement. Since they got Cali and Yenna changed at the closet, the team had done so much together. Now that Yenna was in better spirits, it began with another attempt at the food tables. As they tried, it seemed to turn into a stealth mission rather than so simply walking up and grabbing a bite to eat. After all, the terrifying shark woman and an oddly obnoxious rabbit faunus seemed hellbent on eating every piece of food at the buffet. Whether they got their fill or not, the team had to move on to bigger and better things... Of course, photos were a necessity. This was the first big event for them as a team, the first night the four of them really got to bond with one another. Eli had always done so well getting to know those around him, but... This time was a bit different because it was Cali who was working to build these bonds. It took the last couple weeks to try and build up to even speaking on a first name basis, but it was tonight that they could truly call themselves a team. Different mashups and collaborations of the photos added a fun spin to it all. Small groups, duos, as well as the four of them all together in various poses. Of course, the match made in heaven would get their couples photo. In fact, it turned into several. Even though Cali was starting to open up around her team, it was when she stood alone with Eli that their personalities with one another blossomed. Silly faces and ridiculous poses with one another surely produced a collage of memories for the two to look back upon. Though it was those especially tender that settled in their hearts. Perhaps the most tender was the photo of the two gazing into one another's eyes, a moment that they forgot the camera was on them. Cali's arms reached up to wrap around his neck, to bring him closer... To close the gap between them. Eli's arms wrapped gently around her waist to keep her close, all while the two got lost within one another's eyes... A smile so tender and sweet, her sandy hues dazzling in admiration. They both shared such a similar expression, a gentle smile as they gazed deep into one another's eyes... Even if it was only for a moment, one could clearly see the love that kindled between them.
It was after the photos that the main event was finally happening, the dance itself. Rumor had it that the dance contest itself had already come to a close, but that wouldn't stop team DECO from enjoying themselves. As promised, Cali and Nox would have their dance with one another. Cali herself found Nox's skill in the art quite impressive, given the history of the only dance partner she had. The two of them bot possessed admirable skill in the art. Thus, the lead was passed back and forth between the two by whoever was willing to take the initiative... Something that surprisingly enough, Cali managed to do from time to time. It certainly had her anxious at first, but that didn't stop the sweetest smile form forming on those cheeks of hers. Perhaps the two of them would get a chance to dance again before the night came to a close, but now... There she stood in the arms of Eli with her arms wrapped so delicately around his collared covered neck. It had worn and torn, but a quick replacement left him more than ready for whatever he had to offer. "I.. Still can't believe everything you've done. Are you sure you're not a fairy god spider? I've been suspicious for a while now..." The girl couldn't help but smirk at her remark, feeling so incredibly witty. Gazing into those vivid blue orbs, Cali's playful lips would would settle into a soft and cute smile. Though the dance itself had yet to start, the two still managed to sway like leaves in the wind. "I've been waiting for this all night.. Eli, did you want me to lead?" Now that it was just them, Cali's shell would creep open just a bit more. Right now, she had no reason to be anxious or nervous... It was just the two of them, ready to sway like a dance of feathers in an autumn breeze. The offer to lead stemmed from her being the dancer of the pair. More often than not when they practiced, she was the one who managed to lead him. It was always short and simple, with her occasionally talking him through a trick or two. It was something she loved through and through, a small hobby that they got to do.

With Yenna and Cali back in their make-shift dressing room, he and Nox were left to their own conversation. His sideways glance towards her was met with that of somber crimson hues. Electric orbs would soften, all signs of the usual goofy and playful Eli were gone. Instead there was a much more serious side, a side that only came out on occasion, when the situation couldn't possibly be resolved with teasing and banter. It was a sode that Cali would be most familiar with, but one he was now showing to her. It was the side that showed just how much he had truly been through with the ghosts that swam through pools of liquid lightning, a sad smile parting his lips. There was no doubt that there was a certain darkness hidden within his past, it had marked his body time and time again. However, while the signs were visible it was not something he usually showed in attitude. He was always so bright and cheery, full of smiles and laughs. He had a brightness about him that was usually contagious. Thus far the only blips the team would have seen in that, were the moments Cali's well-being was threatened, be it a physical threat or an emotional one. His hardships were ones that could not he left behind or forgotten, they had taken a special chunk of his heart, but to him it was Cali's sake he was more concerned with. It was her well-being and happiness he was more concerned with. So just like he had often brushed asside the foul words of children on the school yard, the same held true for this. It was truly a rare sight to see it all out in the open like thise. "I know I shouldn't have to thank you... but it seems in this world I do. So many were so quick to judge her, jumping to the harshest assumptions. Even at Signal. Cali was terrified of coming to Beacon, and admittedly I was a bit concerned at first as well, but both you and Yenna have eased those worries for me and I know just how much it means to her." Cali was a gentle soul, riddled of anxiety and so often unsure. She had become so dependent upon the acceptance Eli had always given her and it had gotten her to where she was today. Opening her heart to individuals who were also willing to accept her would only help her to grow. It was somethin he knew she needed, even if she hadn't realized it herself yet. As always, the spider seemed to know what was best when ir came to her. He was like a a researcher who'd devoted his entire life to a subject, discovering every detail hidden with in such vast knowledge. Only rather than a subject, he had chosen a person. A person to which his own soul called out for, whose strings of fate were tangled so closely around each other it was nearly impossible to distinguish one without the other. There was no Eli without Cali, nor was there Cali without Eli.
As his captain continued into her speech, she brought to light the knowledge that she had been marked by the same darkness he had, that Cali had, and even their little bunny friend. Once again, soften orbs would meet hers, listening to her words as they left an inkling of a trail to a sadness hiding in her own past. He was quiet for a moment, waiting for her to continue, quiet still when she didn't. Eli wasn't one to pry into one's personal business, but there was a certain curiosity. More so, he wanted to be sure she knew she could confide in him, whether it was now or later down the road. Rather than ask so bluntly something she might not be ready to share, he took a more passive approach. As big of a goofball he was, he was gentle and tactful when the situation called for it. "Some might say I lucked out a bit when it came to the faunus traits. I have my webs, but I'm practically indistinguishable from your average human. However, my parents were the exact opposite and in a small town it wasn't something that could be hidden. Even if it were a possibility, I wouldn't have. I'm not ashamed of them. They were wonderful people. When Cali had no where to go, they took her in with open arms and together we faced the world. They watched over us both, cared for her as if she were their own, until the very end." His eyes would remain on Nox as he spoke, but as he went on they would grow distant. Staring, but not really seeing. Rather images of a happy childhood flashed behind his eyes, marked by the ostracizing of a little town, all ripped to sheds one fateful day. "People can be cruel, often finding flaws in others for things that are far out of their own control. It was a lesson Cali and I both learned at a very young age and one that they were always there to offer comfort from the harsh reality of the world at the end of the day." By sharing a piece of his own past, by trying to relate to her on some level or another, he hoped it might encourage her to share as well. For Eli this was a sensitive topic, one that caused his heart to ache. His parents were not a subject he breached often, due to the pain that remembering their loss always caused.
Eli hadn't missed Cali's hesitance to step out of the closet, but it was one he had also expected. After all, despite the fact that she had already tried on all of these dresses for him, this was outside the comfort of their dorm. They were in the company of Nox and Yenna while while she had made impressive progress in opening up to them, she couldn't completely escape the grasp of anxiety. Every drawn out moment would be met with nothing but patience on Eli's end. A soft, tender smile as vivid orbs remained on the closet door, waiting for her precious form to emerge from the shadows. As the door creaked open, revealing the darkness with in, spider eyes would lock onto her pale form that remained so carefully hidden. Electric hues would lock with sandy orbs as she slowly stepped forward, the smile on his lips only growing as the light of the hall splashed across her dazzling attire. As delicate arms wrapped around him, he wouldn't hesitate to pull her in close, chin resting atop her head for but a moment. "You look beautiful, Cali. Even more so than usual." The words were soft and tender, whispered into her ear. Pulling back just slowly he would peer down at her, vivid eyes roaming over rosy cheeks and lingering on that adorable smile of her. "Look at that, I think we look like a perfect fit. We'll have to br sure to capture the moment." Any traces of the conversation he'd had with Nox were lost, washed away by the swelling happiness that Cali's pretense always brought. As they walked down the hall together, the team would make their way to the food tables. They would eat and laugh together before taking a variety of pictures together, both as teams and pairs. Of course Cali and Eli were saved for last. It was in these special moments that the comfort she shared when with Eli, when she forgot about the rest of the world, was truly brought to light. They way they made silly faces and stuck ridiculous poses. The way he reached around to boop her nose just before the camera went off only to be met by an equally sneaky nose boop from him. The way they gazed into each others eyes when they thought no one else was watching and the warm flames of love that crackled softly between them, shining like embers in their eyes.
Eventually the team would finally make it to the dance floor, despite the fa t the competition had already ended. It didn't matter to Team DECO as they just wanted to enjoy themselves. Besides, Eli still had an ace hidden up his sleeve and he wasn't going to let the night pass without playing it. Cali and Nox received their dance, as promised. During which Eli took the opportunity to offer Yenna a dance. He figured after such a sour mood she'd come across earlier this would only help to cheer her up further and there was no point in them both just standing on the sidelines to watch. Then, nearing the end of the night came the moment both he and Cali had been looking forward to the most. Cali because it was one of her favorite activities, Eli because he had a special surprise for her. As they finally returned to each other's arms, they would take a moment so simply away and enjoy the warmth of one another's embrace. At her comment, a playful smirk would cross his features. "A fairly godspider perhaps, but only for you." Eli was sweet and selfless, he would go to any lengths to protect another or make then laugh. He always did what he could to make those around him happy, it was just part of his nature. However, there was a very special amount of effort that he put ino making Cali's life a fairytale. At his question the smirk only grew. He knew she was expecting a clumsy dance due to his own two left feet, only to end in a fir of laughter from the both of them. He knew she didn't mind, these moments were special all the same. However, he had gone out of his way to be sure tonight woukd top the list. "That's okay, princess. I think I got it this time. After all, it's not quite midnight yet, which mean the magic hasn't worn off." He would flash her a playful wink, a rather flirtatious smirk crossing his lips. There would he no hesitation in him then taking her hand in his while wrapping the other so carefully around her waist, pulling her closer. There was a certain confidence to his movements, a knowing smile on his lips as he waited for her surprise to show, as he knew it surely would. Just as suddenly as he got into position, he would delve into the steps, following the beat of the music, just as Felix had showed him. Each step was careful and sure, followed by the gentlest direction to her. Lifting his arm, he would twirl her around, fabric of black and grey swirling about their feet. As she came full circle, a gentle tug would bring her back to his arms and he would step forward, pulling her in so their torsos were pressed together. "What do you think, little minx. Worthy of a fairy godspider?" The playful tone in his voice and the mischievous gleam of electric hues indicated that he wasn't finished yet. He had a few more tricks up his sleeve.

__They rate me at (16) Level 0. ______My aura is.. inactive, and my semblance is.. down. ______I fight with teamDECO. ________My status is.. content ___I am at.. Beacon Ball_______Currently I'm in the company of.. Yennefer?, Calista, and Eli
___ Eli got serious when he saw her face. It was a side of him she hadn't ever seen outside of combat. It made sense that he could be serious when the time called for it. Honestly with how Cali was most of the time the situation generally called for a more laid back attitude any way. Still it was interesting to actually see him like this when there wasn't some impending danger. He said that he knew she was right. That it shouldn't be needed, but he was right about how this world they lived in seemed to require it. He filled in again a bit of reasoning why something so simple was so special for Cali. "Well... Even though I don't require a thanks if you feel one is owed then I can still at least accept it. You're most welcome." Nox forced a smile that didn't reach her eyes as she gave the standard response to a thank you.
___ When she continued her words Eli listened to her. After she was finished the last of them hung in the air between them like a heavy weight. Creating an oppressive sense to the short silence. Eli eventually cut into with a story of his own Nox listened to what he had to say as he told about his parents and how different he is from them in how easily he can conceal his faunus heritage. His eyes were on Nox at first though as he approached the end of his story they seemed to drift back into time. Nox nodded her head slowly in agreement to the statement about how people can be cruel. She lifted her hands up before her chest. The fingers of her left hand gently caressed the band of the ring placed on her right ring finger. The band looked like simple white gold. Inlaid into the top was a garnet who's dark red depths perfectly matched the eyes gazing upon it from a few inches away. Eli and the rest of the team would be familiar with the ring, Nox wore it everyday after all. The only times it was seen on her dresser was when the girl slept or bathed. Besides the fact that she wore it a lot and was fond of it no one really knew anything about it, but it seemed clear by the look in her eyes right now that that ring was much more precious to her than something she wore simply because she liked it.
___ It seemed as the silence after his story ended that she was done. But after roughly fifteen seconds his gentle, tactful approach to trying and get her to share more bore fruit. "I was a merchant's daughter when I was young you know. Heh, I guess I still am technically. Though times changed since then..." Nox looked over to Eli and gave him a look of curiosity, seeming to ask if he would of ever guessed about her parent's profession. "When I was little my parents owned a small merchant business that dealt with and moved dust. That changed in less than half an hour of hate." Nox turned her head and fixed her eyes upon her ring once more. Her voice dropping to a whisper Eli could barely make out. "People can be cruel to each other. Some times that cruelty crosses lines to just plain evil... Have you ever encountered anyone from the Tribe before?" The question was rhetorical really and she only paused after asking it to take a breath and to gather her nerve. "I don't know fully about what happened on that last day in your parent's village, but I know that on that day I encountered such pure hate. I've never felt such contempt from other living persons before or since, not even from the grimm. The tribe shot down our airship. Not because they wanted dust. But because they wanted to hurt faunus, they didn't care who that faunus might be really. The airship went down relatively intact, but that just made what happened on the ground all the worse."
___ Nox lowered her left hand and placed it against the side of her waist. Over the only real scar her body had on it. Eli had shared the story about his past so Nox took another breath and pushed on to finish hers. "A fight broke out when they came to check on their handiwork. Calling it a fight though would be a joke. It was more like a slaughter. Luckily my father had been in the airship's cockpit. The locking mechanism was damaged so he couldn't get out but no one could get in either. As for my mother, all she could do was find me and try to protect me. They... didn't care that she had a child in her arms or anything. She was just another faunus to be shot like some kind of animal. I'm not sure if one missed or went through her but in the end my mom was gone and I had a bullet lodged in my side. I survived because I was a bleeding child who couldn't fight back and they, I suppose, had gotten their fill of violence I guess. Not that they seemed to care enough about the faunus they took to try and sell for some money to make sure that she didn't bleed out on them. They got what the deserved when the huntsmen came to investigate why they saw an airship crash... Nox fell silent for a while after that. She had covered most of the story. The important details at least. Why she disapproved of all those things. Why she wanted to make things better. Why she didn't want to give into a cycle of hate. She made her mind focus on happier things so that she could get back into the moment. After all the girls in the make shift dressing room should be coming out before much longer. She concluded her story by explaining, or perhaps confirming about the ring. "I have two things I really consider precious. This ring, which was my mothers, and a coin that like this ring I carry around most times for good luck. I got it from the huntsman that took me out of the cage those Tribe members had stuffed me in to die or become a slave. Not sure which would of been worse, honestly." Her arms dropped to her side and she moved away from the wall.
___ Now that she was done talking she gave Eli a small smile. It seemed like she had genuinely managed to cheer herself back up. The smile for the most part was reaching her eyes. "I don't really like to talk about that day anymore than you probably like to think about the one you told me about. So, I'll give you permission. To make the decision. If you feel the time is right or that they need to know, you have my permission to tell the others, or anyone else for that matter, about my past." A handful of seconds later the door they were guarding opened. Nox turned her head and her eyes lit up when Yenna came out. That was an overhaul beyond what Nox had been expecting. The snake girl immediately started to fawn over Yenna's dress and seemed to forget all about the dark topic that Eli and her had been talking about minutes ago. She did pull herself away from Yenna long enough to use her scroll to take a flash-less photo of Cali while she was standing there in the hall making doe eyes at Eli. It wouldn't be anything professional grade but it turned out nice looking and she would keep it for the time being.

XXXBreath. That's something that the girl continued to remind herself. To conquer the anxiety she just had to remember to breathe. In out. In out. While each step was astride of elegance, they were clearly done with haste to close the gap between them. As her arm carefully interlocked with his own, it was he who took the initiative to pull them closer. To be whisked away in his arms and pulled so close would bring her head to his chest, her ears to his heart. Tu-tum. Tu-tum. A chin planted so gently atop her head, words that tickled her scalp as his tender words lightly strummed the strings to her heart. Her cheeks were red as roses, something that could never cease with all his flattery. As he pulled back her sandy orbs would look up so cute and innocently towards those of vivid electricity with a smile so sweet. "S..says the most handsome spider in all of Remnant.." Her words were soft, like a whisper. Yet with such a flattery, her stutter would noticeably drop. His flattery meant the world and more to her, but she could never express enough the same for him. Her words were always so few and far in the presence of others, but she wanted him to know all the same. Tonight of all nights. With the way he talked, the way he smiled... She was none the wiser to the words that were exchanged behind a closed closet door. Both him and Nox played it off so smoothly while Cali's anxiety had distracted her from any signs, even the stealth photo that Nox managed to snag of her.
Eli often seemed to be something so akin to a fairy god figure. A boy that was so sweet and optimistic, that prioritized the happiness and wellbeing of all those around him before himself. It was what he lived for, what he thrived on. Just as he did for the attention in the center stage. It was in the kindness he radiated so naturally, she knew the truth laced within his words. That just as she tried to do for him, there was always a step beyond that he would take for her. The two spent their lives together creating a fairytale of their very own. Peter Pan, Cinderella, sure enough, this ball counted as some sort of wonderland. Something that let them break away from the steps of a life that threatened time and time to rip their story to pieces. It was his claim that turned a playful smirk around on her, settling into the cute and loveable smile that she often held whenever she gave him the doe eyes.
Sandy orbs would widen softly in surprise, not to the confidence he displayed, but the actions that followed. The spider had always possessed overwhelming confidence in what he did, whether comical or over the top, but never in a moment like this. Though the two had practiced time and time again, he never possessed such initiative when it came to the series of rhythms laced between their steps. From zero to ten, Cali found herself pulled so closely with her fingers laced with his own. Her free hand would rest on his shoulder, fingers gently curled into the fabric with a soft squeeze. "Eli..? When did..?" A question that couldn't be finished by a girl who pieced it together just a tad too slow. Just as quickly, his feet would begin stepping in a series of movements that matched the rhythm that played overhead. It was such a sudden delve that even Cali took a moment to catch up, adapting to the series of steps he laid out before her. Though he was so spry in his actions, there was a certain level of caution with each step that was meant to guide her to follow. A role she had only experienced with Nox for but a moment, an actual lead that carried her on her heels into a most elegant display. She could feel it coming, a rise in his hand for a spin that this dress was designed for. As much as she wanted to step forward, take the leap and start the spin herself, she fought back every fiber of her being to give him this. To let him lead, to show her a way she had never quite experienced. An eager smile would cross her lips as his motions led her into a twirl. A spin that caused the waves of fabric that cascaded down her to rise in a most miraculous spin of grey and black, all while the rhinestones glistened under the autumn lights.
As she came full circle he would lead her steps seamlessly to close the gap between them, pressing their torsos together. Eyes like polished sandstone would shimmer in the light as she looked up at him. "A fairy godspider that's made all my dreams come true..." The eager smile on her lips settled into one of adoration with a touch of disbelief. Her mind was still processing the series of steps he led her on, nearly leaving her behind! Never once had he taken the lead so prominently, so it begged to wonder... Was this boy actually a godspider? To turn those two left feet into such jaw-dropping choreography, such a feat had to be an act of magic itself. It was with torsos pressed together that the girl would lean up on her tiptoes, bringing her sandy orbs as close as she could to those of blue. A look of disbelief finally shifting once again towards an eager curiosity, wonder just what else he could do. "Well, fairy godspider? why don't you show what else you can bippity boppity do?" For a girl so soft spoken and anxious, such a tone may have come as a surprise to their other teammates. Not to Eli, though. It was a tone she rarely got to use with him. One that was playful, teasing, and excited all the same. It was her lips that curled into a playful smile, ever so mischievous like the minx he often claimed her to be. Following her playful words, the boy would surely feel the fingers slip from his shoulder before sealing her playful banter with picture perfect nose boop. It was then she'd settle on the balls of her feet, heels tapping the floor. It was her gaze that showed she was eager for him to lead again.

Who would have thought that such a deep and sentimental conversation would have conspired between himself and his leader at this autumn ball. One that left inklings and clues towards the darkest parts of both of their lives. One that lead to stories that some might say were best left untold. It was one that revealed a new piece of each of them to the other and one that stuck with him as he walk down the hall with Cali tucked so carefully beneath his arm. Despite the thoughts that lingered on that conversation, both he and Nox had perfectly transitioned into smiles and giggles as their other two teammates returned from behind closed doors. Even now as he thought back to those shared moments, he kept the thoughts so expertly from showing through to his expression. It wasn't something he wanted to share with Cali, at least not on a night as special as this one. He wanted this to be perfect and bringing a conversation like that to light might stir up unwanted feelings and memories with in the sandy haired girl. It was a talk they would surely share one day, after all, they shared everything, but he would save it for when it became necessary. After all, he wasn't one to just go spilling other people's beans, even if his raven haired captain had given him the permission to. Of all the words that had been shared, there was one question that kept ringing through his mind. "Some times that cruelty crosses lines to just plain evil... Have you ever encountered anyone from the Tribe before?" It was a rhetorical question, and even if it hadn't been, the girl had not paused long enough for him to answer, even if he had wanted to. However, the answer to said question was written clearly on his face. In the way his electric hues darkened. The way his eyebrows furrows together. The way his lips pressed together into such a tight line. The shadows that swam with such vivid orbs as memories of that dark event slashed behind his his. His own cage. His own scars. The pain that would always reside in that empty hole in his heart. A pain that most days lay buried beneath layers of that playful and mischievous charm of his.
"...to die or become a slave. Not sure which would of been worse, honestly."
His initial thought was that dying would have been a far better fate. After all, he had spent weeks in that cage with Cali and he knew the true horrors of being a salve to the Tribe. He knew the darkness behind hidden walls and the atrocities no one dared to utter. However, he remembered just how hard he had fought to get out of there, to survive. Then again, he hadn't really been fighting for himself or his own future. He had been fighting for hers. Just as she had been fighting for his, in the only way that she could. To think that a couple of orphaned children could have bested the tribe. To think they could have escaped. To think they could have gone on to live happy lives full and love and laughter, even if those lives were far from normal. It was a story he would keep to himself for now. One painful story was enough for one night and soon enough their other teammates would have returned from their make-shift dressing room. Instead Eli listened to the rest of her story, quiet but with an expression of genuine empathy on his face. A hand would reach up, gentle but firm to rest upon her shoulder and give a soft squeeze. It was a simple movement, one many might not think twice about, but it held a lot of wait behind it. "I'm sorry to hear about your parents, but I would like to think we really can make a difference... together." The spider would return her smile, then just as the door of the closet was opening, his hand would fall from her shoulder and the too would fall back into step as if nothing had conspired between the two apart from possible small talk about future studies and homework. There would be no cause for suspicion or questions. In fact, it seemed that Nox had already forgotten about the hardship she had shared with him as she fawned over Yenna's dress and it was absolutely clear that there was nothing on his mind but the beauty of the sandy hued, gray clad girl in front of him.
The closer they got to the dance floor, the farther the conversation he had shared with Nox slipped from his mind. His only concern at the moment was Cali and ensuring this was nothing if not the best night of her life so far. Not that this was entirely different from usual. Eli strove every day to ensure her happiness, to make her feel normal despite the blaring difference in her nature. Making others happy was a trait of his that drilled down to his very core. It thrived upon it, just as he thrived on being in the spot light. Cali's happiness was different though. It was not an option, but a necessity, as crucial to his well being as oxygen. Just as her presence was in his life. He could not be without her, nor her without him. Tonight still, was different than every other day. The mischievous spider boy always seemed to have something up his sleeve, but his trick tonight was one Cali never would have dreamed of, not even in the wildest of subconscious thought. It was something she had like lost hope of years ago when Eli had proved to have nothing but two left feet. Sure, he did his best to follow her lead and not step on her feet too much, but tonight it was his turn to swoop her up right off her feet, which was exactly what he did. In fact, he did it so well that for once it was her trying to catch up and not the other way around. She seemed equally surprised as she was pleased by his newly found dance skills, which only made the smirk on his lips grow. Shocked as she was, she couldn't quite seem to finish her question, but she didn't need to. "You remember Felix, right? That faunus boy you kicked upside the head?" He would question, the corners of his lips twitching with that playful smirk of his. "When I went to make sure he was okay, I learned he has a bit of an interesting semblance. When you touched him, he gained you memories... So I asked him for a bit of an odd favor." Electric orbs would gaze down at her, gleaming mischievously as he examined her, waiting to see if she would put the pieces of the puzzle together. It would certainly explain any of his odd disappearances over the last couple of weeks, for as many dresses as he had collected, it couldn't have taken up nearly as much time as he had been missing. "In an odd way... I guess you could say its thanks to you that I learned how to do all of this."
"Well, fairy godspider? why don't you show what else you can bippity boppity do?"
It was a side of Cali that only came out on the rarest of occasions, but one he enjoyed all the more because of it. That playful smile on her lips, both cute an enticing, was one of his favorites. The way she stood up on her tip toes to get their noses as close together as possible only added to the effect. It was an action that might surprise the other members of their team that were so used to her closed walls and anxious nature. Eli was not surprised in the slightest. Rare as a sight it might be, he had spent long enough with her to see it time and time again, Not to mention he knew just how to draw it out of her. In fact, it was this side of Cali that coined the nickname he often used, little minx. The smirk on his lips would grow, indication that he had far more planned than she could have ever imagined. Faster than one could blink, his hand would slip from her fingers, drawing a soft line up her arm before planting the gentlest of pokes upon the tip of her nose. The nose boop wars were never truly paused after all and she had presented him with the perfect opportunity. Before she could retaliate, or likely even fully process the situation, his hand would slide gently down her should to her wast, where his other hand was already resting. Almost effortlessly he would lift her into the air, tilting his gaze upwards to watch her expression. He didn't want to miss even the briefest moment of her reaction. As he lifted her, he would spin in a circle in time with the beat of the music. Once. Twice. A third time, then he would place her gently upon her feet. Leaning in close, heads nearly touching, he would breathe the words softly into her ear. "Better take a deep breath now, little minx, because you won't get another chance." Smirking down at her, his hands would return to their positions, only to spin her outwards once more, only this time as she reached the end of his reach, he would slip his fingers from hers with a gentle thrust forward to keep her moving. Rather than his arms closing around her, it would be a string of web that circled around her wrist, spinning her further outwards before finally tugging her gently back into his arms. "How's that for bippity bobbity boo?"

XXXA question that left her lips unfinished. Hanging in the air waiting for the boy to snatch them up an answer. That boy was mentioned again, Felix. The faunus boy that she nearly kicked to death that constantly gave her a pang of guilt. Whenever he came to mind her head would fill with clouded thoughts of what she did to him. In the end she always tried to justify it, proclaiming to herself that he started it by hurting Eli. It never worked. Why mention him though? Why smile about it? "Felix.. I know.." Her dear spider knew how much thinking about him made her upset. Where Eli's lips curled into a smirk, Cali's would dive into a brooding frown. It wasn't like Eli to do this. To bring up something that made her unhappy deliberately. There had to be some meaning to it. Sandy orbs had dulled, tarnished by the weight of rekindled guilt. But only for a moment. A glimpse before they glistened in curiosity as she looked up towards the spider boy. "A.. memory semblance..?" Piece by piece she was putting it together. The curiosity and interest igniting in her words, almost childlike. There we so many unique semblances in the world, hers being a starring example. A girl cursed with pestilence that always admired the more flashy elemental types, much like her spider's. She had never heard of a memory focused semblance. Cogs would fall into place as the gears whirled, only for warmth to well in her cheeks in a rosy pink color. "W-wait... HE.. HE has my memories..? He.. how much does he know?!" Brownlocks would frantically shift from her forehead as she began looking back and forth. Where was this horned boy?! What all did he know about her? Did he know about her pestilence? What her favorite color was? Their credit card number? Why did Eli wait so long to tell her this?! This was dangerous, a breach of security! Was that why the boy kept looking at them? Because he had black mail on her to get back for the hardy blow to the head?
.. ".. E-eh..?" A blip of confusion, a slip of the tongue. Sandy orbs would blink as her panicked bubble popped, leaving her looking up towards Eli. What was that suppose to mean? .. It was thank to her that he learned how to dance? What did that have to do with the favor he asked the boy? .. That's when the final cog clicked into place. Gears would whirl madly as she blinked in realisation, taking a double take at Eli before pointing to herself. "I did..? He... My memories.." A curious tone within words that didn't quite get her point across. She figured it all out. The number of disappearances were far more than a simple trip or two to the store. Even if this Lafalle demanded more time from him, it wouldn't explain the number of hours she spent alone wondering. At times she even wondered if something was wrong. Why had he spent so much time away? A thought that may have plagued her mind a bit more if it wasn't for the teammates present to keep her company. That mixed with the guilt of wondering how she'd approach Felix again. .. Now it all made sense. The updates about Felix weren't just that, they were summaries from days of practice. If the boy had gotten her memories then it was within the realm of possibility he learned how to dance. ... That explained the familiarity in Eli's own motions, following the countless step sequences she taught herself over the years. The same that she tried to teach Eli, though it never quite sank. "I can't believe you... Are you sure you're not a villainous mastermind?" It all played together so well. The effort the boy was willing to put out for the girl was almost terrifying. Imagine if he put such attentiveness into anything else? Academics, plotting, or villainy. He would be an unstoppable force. Instead though, he put it to use on making every day the best it could be for the two. A thought that was concluded at the touch of her nose, causing her smile to grow once more.
Her nose would twitch, her playful smile growing in anticipation. She left herself open willingly, knowing such a battle would never end between the two. Half tempted, she was ready to unleash a second boop in retaliation. It would be just like the two to let such a magnificent dance boil down into the endlesss nose boop wars. That chance never came, however. In the blink of an eye his hands would change places. A firm palm caressing down her waist to join the other. By the time she could put two and two together it was too late. A squeak of surprise escaped her lips as her tiny frame was hoisted into the air above them. Orbs of polished sandstone widen in surprise only to glisten under the autumn lights, sparkling in wonder. She was held so high, she could see most of the ball from here. Above the crowd under the focus of the fallen vibrancy. Shimmering orbs would take it all in as her smile grew wide, her mouth hanging over in wonder. Those same shimmering orbs would fall upon Eli after a moment, softening a her mouth closed, but her smile remained all the same. She was having the time of her life with every twist and turn. She didn't know the first thing to expect from a spiderboy who finally learned that the reason he had two left feet was because he had 8 legs to work with. Excitement continued to whirl as the two would twirl, the series of autumn colors blending into a equinox medley. The pace was just right, fast enough to create an irreplaceable sensation, but slow enough to avoid the sense of dizziness. As effortlessly as she was hoisted, she would be gently planted on her feet. Only given a chance to blink at their closeness, she'd only have the time to draw in her breath to speak before they were on the move again. Hands reclaiming their position, her frame would shift to spin with his guidance. The series of movements she was given were woven so intricately together that not even her dance with Nox measured up to it. Each motion wove seamlessly together by a pair that knew each other through and through. To be led by someone that knew every step she could manage, while having the edge of surprise. It was an indescribable sensation. Her frame would follow his outwards spin, fingers ready to latch against his only to be pushed forward. Brown orbs would blink in surprise, anxious yet eager to see where it would lead. It was then she'd feel the familiar snag of his net embrace her waist, providing a guiding momentum. Then, in the flick of a wrist, she'd be tugged into his arms as a climactic finish to the second sequence. Just was she did to him before, his words were teasing.. Almost a taunt. A playful tone that demanded to impress.
This man was a saint. A sneaky saint. A truly blessing in her life. Not only did he spoil her, but he treated her like a normal girl. That even in her sugar coated reality he thrived to give her, he never did rob her of the experiences every girl should have. The teasing, the planning, the mischievous antics. His willingness to lead her on a wild goose chase of thoughts, only to surprise her in the end. To make her work for her surprise, while at the same time willing to treat and pamper her from a harsh reality. To say that he was a blessing in her life would be an understatement. It was him who gave her a life to live, a reason to rise from bed every morning. ... A voice in the dark that kept her above the surface, from sinking into the inky abyss that the world had given her. Even as the anxiety took over and the abyss flooded her lungs. It was this boy and his encumbering presence in her life that filled her lungs with the oxygen she needed. That gave her heart the strength to beat again and again, filling the chasm in her chest with rhythm. In a world of black and white, he was the color that drew attention to the finer details. The brushstroke that gave new life to a long abandoned canvas. A presence that made the sky a little bluer, the grass a bit greener. A muse for much needed by a lonely artist who had long put down their brush. The inspiration that an author without purpose needed to finish those final keystrokes. In their presence, their existence, was a silent confession as their story unfold. Perhaps it was the excitement of the moment. The adrenaline coursing through her veins. As the girl settled in his arms, orbs of polished sandstone would gaze up at electric hues. In an absence of words there would instead be action. The gloved hand would grip his shoulder as the girl pulled herself up. A gap of several inches closed in a second, bringing their lips close enough to feel the kiss of one another's breath. At the last moment, Cali's own gloved fingers would slip between them as their lips connected with the opposing sides of her hand. His to her palm, hers to the back. A disconnected kiss was held for a few seconds before she'd drop down, heels clicking against the ground. Tugging her hand from his lips, her finger would lightly tap the tip of his nose. Her own cheeks were a shade of scarlet, a playful smile becoming meek in an instant. "Bippity bobbity boop."
