So yeah, I know I have very specific goals to work out while we're in the manor for the night but I can't help but start to delve into more of Kai's past. I'm just having a little bit of a dilly of a time deciding on how to lock down his skills and what he was learning at the time he screwed things up and became a cat for over three hundred years. His strength when he was a high elf was definitely in archery and he was seen as one of the best in his village with a very considerable shot range. I do have him learning the art of being able to take on animal forms similar to the Beastmasters of Ragnarok 2, which helps explain why he's a gray house cat now, but I also wanted him to have a secondary skill with magic that he used to enchant the arrows he used. That's where I'm getting tripped up a little. I'm not sure if I want him to use pure energy or if it should be based in one of the elements. I'm in no rush to post again so I can play around with things until I'm ready to make my next post.
I did pin down an age for him though while our power was out earlier today so the FPL crew could do some scheduled work in our section of the neighborhood. Kai's roughly 528 years old. Thank you Siri and your random number search. Now if only I could decide on a general look for my elf turned feline. xp

MasturChef Okay, my next post may or may not be fairly long. I'll see how it goes while writing it out. The reason for that is I'm more than likely going to throw Chef into the rp. I'm going off of something Cel posted earlier in the rp about the town council needing to formally call Caelen. My idea is that Chef was in a meeting with the town council to talk about the events of the day before. Chef was trying to convince the council to let Cae investigate the crow incident and defend the town from any further attacks. But in the middle of their meeting the dark pillar emerges and the council get this misguided fear about Cae because he happens to use dark energy. The rest I will work on, but eventually Chef will meet Terra and take her back to the Manor. I'm loving this idea already. Oh, I also read over your finished profie for Terra. Nice work! It sounded good enough to be an actual Greek myth. There is one thing I do need to know. How does Chef (OC) prefer to be addressed, just as "Chef" or by a first name? I've been wondering about that for a while now.

Hmm, well it seems to me that if an elf was using a specific elemental magic, the logical choices are Earth or Air. In K'taal, where my novel Cel is from, Earth was the primary elemental energy used by the elves. There were a few who learned other disciplines. One even went bad, but for the most part the elves stuck to their Earth roots. Air energy was an all together different practice used more by creatures who could fly than by anyone else. The exception of course being the Cyrstalmancers who were required to study all disciplines, regardless of which element they were most attuned to. Don't know if that will be a helpful insight or not, but it might provide an idea or two.

I think. I don't remember what I decided to do. Luckily his original character sheet is still floating around in another thread. All I really need to do is rewrite his backstory. Well, I mean, I don't need to. I just want to. Pretty much! Alice and some others I have not decided yet xD

I'm trying to use the other magic he knows as a part of his archery skills so what kind of magic he used back then plays a part in that. Like I said, I'm still trying to pin down things with his past and it's still a bit of a work in progress.

Well, I was going to post a reply last night to respond to both Hydro and Cree, but I got tired of staring at the screen, so just shut everything down. Then Cel had to go and get herself distracted by finishing up a novel. @_@ Bad time to get me started on reading again. Once I pick up a book, I won't set it down until I've finished it. I did finish reading that particular book at about 6 am this morning. xp so I believe I can focus now.

So I have something worked out for my next post but I'm not sure if I'm going too heavy on the Kai stuff and light on everything else that's going on in the manor at the moment. I mean I do want to delve into a bit of his past but at the same time I don't want to overshadow what should be focused on if it's not a Kai centric post. Plus it feels like I'm going in circles a bit but maybe that is just me not being satisfied with the post. Still, once I have a couple of things pinned down and worked out I'm going to post it. Prim is going to get that firm yet gentle reprimand and Aylin is going to take blame for their current situation.
