LEVEL UP!
New level: 5

New item created:

Name: Defective Red Gloomdeer Lucent Stone
lightcast: +22 roll1 attack
auracast: +22 roll1 parry
charge: 23 points of damage
When cast, roll a roll1 lightcasting attack with the noted bonus and designate a beneficiary. This attack is stored until the next time that the beneficiary is struck by an attack. If lightcast, then the spell will immediately fire, attacking with the full strength of the roll to damage the attacker. If auracast, the spell will fire at the attack, attempting to parry the blow, parrying as normal.

This means that you are effectively storing that round's (the round that you cast the stone) attack or parry until the next time the beneficiary is attacked. You may choose any combatant in the fight, friend or foe, as the benficiary, and the next time that they are attacked the attack will be unleashed. It should be noted that, in the case of an auracast, the attack must be making contact to trigger the effect. If the beneficiary would dodge or successfully parry the attack, the effect will not attempt to parry the attack. The auracast effect will parry the attack after the beneficary's evasion has been subtracted from it, or will add its own parry to the beneficiary's parry to supplement it. It is decided at the time of the lightcast by the lightcaster whether the effect will punish enemies that do not make contact with the beneficiary or not.

Once cast, the stone can be recharged and cast again, even allowing for multiple charges to be stacked on top of each other. In the case of multiple stacks, each will be fired simultaneously, being calculated as independent attacks or parries, and they may be targeting the same creature or split among multiple attackers.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note on charging multiple like stones:
Note: when charging multiple stones of the same color, the full charge that you gain that round is split evenly between the stones, with any remainder being given to the lowest charged stone. For example, if you deal 10 damage in a round, and have two red lucent stones, each will gain 5 charge. If you deal 10 damage, and have 3 red stones, each will gain 3 charge. However, if one of the stones is completely charged, then it is not counted as you divide the points between the others.
If you have three stones with the following charges:
5/10
2/10
1/10
and deal 7 damage, then each will gain 2 points, with a remainder of 1, which will be given to the lowest charged stone.
10| 5+2=7
10| 2+2=4
10| 1+2=3+1=4
Now, if you deal 12 points of damage, each stone will be given 4 points of charge. You'll notice that this will fully charge the first stone. So, to figure out how things will charge, simply subtract the 3 points you need to max that stone out (12-3=9) and then divide that between the other two stones as normal.
10| 7+3=10
10| 4+4=8
10| 4+4=8
In this case, we have a remainder of 1, but both available stones are equally charged. In this situation, it is up to the player how that remaining point will be distributed.
In addition, when casting a stone that shares a color with other stones on your talisman, that stone does not gain charge, and the others gain charge at only half the normal rate.
That's about it. It may seem like a lot, but it's really a pretty simple thing to get used to. Happy Casting!
purple motes of light are created by crafting. Lightsmithing generates these as a byproduct.
new lucent stone created:
Blue: light: +5 friendship | aura: +10 roll1/2 | charge: 12 points
lightcast: roll as normal attack, deal friendship instead of damage.
auracast: roll attack+10 against 0, damage resulting from that attack is given as bonus to ally's next roll1/2, or caster's next roll1/2 at half normal value.
The Lightsmith
The woman thanks you for your help and takes the crystal from you. She places it into the lightforge, where it rests on a small stand, and begins rotating the forge's various rings and lenses to focus the light of their surroundings into slender beams that pierce the crystal. "This forge is marked for you, you so can know about where to set the rings for healing crystals, but there are many more things you can do once you've figured out the science behind the forge. It all depends on the light that you allow to enter the crystal, and the reflection of it that is captured inside. That's why healing crystals glow. You're not just letting light pass through them, you're trapping it inside, and when you will it, that light comes out to influence the world." As she rotated the last ring into position, the crystal flashed and began to softly glow. "There we go. You can have this one. You're welcome to use this forge anytime you like, but it's only a level 1 forge; it's all I can get my hands on out here. It won't be able to handle the more complicated formulas."
Retroactive rewards for Rota:
Mastery rewards:
~Congratulations!~
Quote:
You have completely mastered the Metalwork Arte: Iron Ingot (Master I, Innate I)! At this point, no matter how much more you use it, it can never become more powerful. You have two options: you may choose to keep the arte at this level, and continue to enjoy the benefits of a maxed out arte; or you can reset the arte to level 1 and gain a new mastery bonus which will give the arte a new and exciting ability, but return it to its original quality with the addition of the special quality.
With this arte, you have a choice of three mastery bonuses, in addition to the qualities that the arte already possesses:
1: Master's Touch II: this mastery will allow you to enhance the basic statistics of the iron ore that you are working. Your ingots will produce stronger, sharper, more durable weapons and armor.
2: Innate Talent II: further enhance the innate power of the ingots that you create
3: Prodigious Potential: Increase the quality and adaptability of any and all materials created with the ingots that you create
Quote:
You have completely mastered the Weaponsmith Arte: Rookie Iron Two-Handed Straight Sword! At this point, no matter how much more you use it, it can never become more powerful. You have two options: you may choose to keep the arte at this level, and continue to enjoy the benefits of a maxed out arte; or you can reset the arte to level 1 and gain a new mastery bonus which will give the arte a new and exciting ability, but return it to its original quality with the addition of the special quality.
The arte may be upgraded to the following, or may remain as it is now:
Weaponsmith Arte: Journeyman Iron Two-Handed Weapon
2 units iron ingot and 3 units charcoal produce one two-handed iron weapon of impressive quality
Quote:
You have completely mastered the Weaponsmith Arte: Refine Weapon! At this point, no matter how much more you use it, it can never become more powerful. You have two options: you may choose to keep the arte at this level, and continue to enjoy the benefits of a maxed out arte; or you can reset the arte to level 1 and gain a new mastery bonus which will give the arte a new and exciting ability, but return it to its original quality with the addition of the special quality.
You have the choice of upgrading the arte in the following way:
Weaponsmith Arte: Refine Weapon II
Paying either the ingot/monster part cost of crafting the target weapon or sacrificing a whole weapon, one can strengthen the target weapon. The weapons do not need to be the same type to be combined in this way, and no special qualities will be carried from the sacrificed weapon to the target weapon. There will be a 5% chance that this process will increase the quality of the refined weapon.
When refining a weapon, roll a 1d100 and list the two pieces of equipment (and their stats) that you are combining clearly. A weapon can only be refined so many times, as decided by its quality at creation. This Arte applies to all weapons.
