"Hmmm," she said thoughtfully, poking at his ankle. She wondered if he was ticklish. "Your sis must be wise. N' ya really dun see any footless kids in tha slums, but I thought it was 'cause they all died or summat. Can't run wit no feet, ain't useful anymore. Not useful, ain't fed." She shrugged and lightly began to wrap his foot and ankle in gauze. The light hairs on his leg tickled her fingers.

A mischievous gleam lit in her golden eyes. With a smirk, she lightly began to dance her fingers along the bottom of his foot.

As always, Axel was never quite sure if Preacher's tales of the slums were true or not. It was true that most people didn't much care about slum kids -- he felt a pang of guilt -- but even so he found it hard to imagine a bunch of footless dead kids going unremarked and unnoticed. This conversation was taking an unexpectedly morbid turn.

He was distracted from thoughts of footless dead kids by Preacher's tickling fingers. His foot jerked.

Oh, damn it.

Axel bit his tongue, trying to stay quiet and still, hoping Preacher hadn't noticed. But she had, damn her, and she kept on tickling him. Unable to hold it in, Axel barked out a laugh, trying to get his foot away from her without attracting too much attention.

"Stop it, Preacher, HA, stop it," he hissed.

Preacher did not stop. Giggling despite himself and trying to gently kick her off, Axel let out a theatrical groan.

"Jeez, hahahaghh, I should've gone out with Harper. Hahahahastttoppp."

She snorted when he giggled. Preacher had been right, Axel was ticklish - he had seemed to type to be, after all. When he let out a loud laugh, she giggled too. Finding other ticklish spots would be useful, she thought, especially when she couldn't punch him. She could just irritate him by tickling him. And, well, Preacher found herself wanting to punch him a lot of the time. She scanned him carefully - maybe his sides? His neck?

"-I should've gone out with Harper."

Oh. Oh. She froze. That was right, he should've. In fact, if Harper had been here, Preacher would have insisted on switching partners. Because that's what friends did for each other. They did -not- tickle the feet of men that their friends loved. She swallowed, face falling. Suddenly, she slapped him on the bottom of his foot, pinning a tight smile on.

"Ya... ya jus' go n' show tha instrutor ya foot or summat. I jus'... remembered somethin' I gotta do. Yeah." With that, she abruptly stood, grabbed her boot, and made a beeline for the nearest tree. She circled it, and once she was out of his line of vision, hoisted herself up into the low-hanging branches. Once there, she hugged her knees tightly and picked at the gaze still wrapped around her ankle. She hoped he wouldn't come looking for her.

Axel watched her go and sadly stuffed his gauze-wrapped foot back into his boot.

Shun gave a shrug at that. Sure. He could throw the tarp on. And thus, he went ahead and did just that. The tarp was tossed over the sticks. Once that was in place, he went ahead and tied it down.

"There..."

Taking in a deep breath, he looked over at his partner and nodded, then went to sit underneath.

"This looks a little wobbly.."

Erevette was soon there looming over the pair with a strange gleaming smile on her face. This time she choose to poor the water on first and truly it was very much able to withstand the force of impact. Yet it was when she went to toe it with her boot to inspect for stability did it break down. Her eyebrow shot up about half up her forehead and it collapsed down on them. All these trainees and their tents had been her constant source of amusement making sure to impart knowledge when she could.

"...woopse. looks like this stake wasn't tied down enough. You two can move on just uh..make sure you check every tie down when your securing your shelters." She tried not to laugh, namely so neither felt bad. She shook her head the instructor gave pause rubbing her chin slightly before wandering away from the pair giving them her blessings.

Lip listened to the other comment as if he didn't hear him. As they walked, he remained silent until the perfect moment where Alec was beside him. He swiftly thrusted his elbow into the others stomach and continued walking. "There. Now you know what a class A jerk looks /and/ feels like." He growled as he continued to make his way to the first aid materials. Worst case scenario, he would get in trouble which frankly... He could care less about. Working in partners was futile.

As they made it to the first aid stuff, Lip listened to Alec. Surely he was mocking him... Unbelieving that he knew what he was doing. Phillip scoffed at him, "Of course I know how to tend to a broken arm.. Is first aid really on that?! That doesn't teach you to cover a wound properly!" He complained as he grabbed and placed the sticks on each side of Alec's arm and started wrapping it with focus. Once he was done he gently moved Alec's arm away, "there, easy... Pathetically easy." He griped then sighing.

Alec hadn't expected the other to stalk after him and wait till he was distracted to strike at him. Grunting with a rush of air taken from his lungs he rubbed at his side huffing at the other. The teacher hadn't seen the altercation and in reality Alec wasn't one to simply whine and turn tail and run. "I dunno how we got off on such a bad foot, but I'm sorry." He finally stated with a small sigh.

Realizing he'd managed to piss the other off by asking about his skill set the red head sighed. This guy really did have an ego the size of a colossal titan. Watching him bandage his arm carefully he gave the other a tilt of his head before speaking. "Its just one of our exercises, they have to field train us..this is just covering the basis's pretty sure we'll have other days like this." he continued with a shrug.

Lifting his bandaged arm the teen smiled suddenly. "I wouldn't mind learning how to make a proper wound stopping too.." he offered gently, implying the other truly was skilled and some one he wouldn't mind learning from if he was willing. "If not forget I asked." Alec added with a small nod. Trusting he didn't elbow or kick him...or hit for that matter it wouldnt be so bad. He was just out of arms reach, surprisingly with a small smile on his face as they chatted.

Content with his tenting work, he crouched down to unroll the sleeping bag by simply pushing it with his foot, since his hands were preoccupied with the medic kit. There. That should do it. Turning back to the girl, he watched her as she got her own tent set up, quietly watching the mild struggle, but not saying a word. If she needed assistance, she would speak up. Or if she didn't, well... Mykanos would be able to lend a hand should she seem a bit crestfallen in her attempts. But that didn't seem to be the case here.

By the looks of it the girl had managed to get a decent looking shelter put up, Mykanos' brilliant sea dyed eyes trailing along it slowly, with a trained gaze. As the girl moved on to the next portion of their training, first aid, Mykanos watched with very faint curiosity in the clear change in her demeanor. The stuttering, stammering, timid way she'd acted before seemed to turn right around to a more confident front. Her eyes were sparkling, and she was radiating with... something akin to glee. Interesting. It increased even more as she began to give instruction to one of the other boys who was here. Looking to them, as they were chosen for the concussion wrapping, Mykanos made sure to pay vigilant attention. This chick knew what she was doing, and he wanted to make sure he was doing it right himself. He witnessed the wrapping and the listing off of what to do as it was done. So he wasn't too off base there. Nodding slowly, as though he were taking notes, the strong silent type veered his attention to the first aid kit himself. It'd be good to give it a try too, just in case. The more practice the better, and that's what they were here for after all.

Rooting through the various tools and supplies they'd been given in the small box, Mykanos internally named off what he did recognize and didn't. Like before, this stuff was much higher quality than what he was used to making due with. It was nice. Fiddling with some of the soft gauze, and the tougher bandaging used to keep the tender fabric in place, he looked up when prompted by the young miss. So many options.... Something in the eye? That was a new one. A wrist was pretty simple and straight forward, and something he'd dealt with similarly already. Lifting a hand, he tapped a finger against the side of his socket, "Something in the eye." he repeated if his indication wasn't enough. Honestly, he wasn't sure what that all entailed or meant... And with the eye being as delicate as it was, he would definitely need some insight on how to deal with it requiring medical attention. Especially since, while he was able to be gentle, using a delicate touch on your own eye which was in a position where you couldn't actually see it, or what you were doing... it really sounded like it could be bad news if anything went wrong. Maybe that old saying of 'don't poke your eye out!' would apply in this situation. That didn't sound good. Nor did the idea of being blinded. It seemed like a grave disadvantage to have, even more so for him considering he was a hunter. All senses were a necessity.

First Aid here we come!

Farvardin gave the small shelter a nod before getting under with Shun. She gave Erevette a strange look when she realized the instructor was taking great joy out of this activity. The water hit the shelter and they didn't get soaked! Farvardin was about to give a cheer when the whole thing fell down on them.

Laughing as she emerged she nodded at the advice given. "Yep. Will do." She said stepping in some mud. She looked down at her boot and shook her head. It would dry and then she would clean it.

Heading over to the first aid supplies she looked at Shun. "So where is your puncture wound? I'll fix ya right up!" She said with a grin that could be taken as slightly malicious (not that it was). She picked up some gauze and a wrap ready to play doctor.

Rennati couldn't have been more relieved to see their shelter hold up to the test. More being glad that her crappy knot had held than anything else. "We did it!" She exclaimed happily and resisted the urge to jump up and down and give Hilda a high five. And now it was time for them to move to first aide, something she had quite a bit of first hand experience with. Especially gashes. She went over to the little crate that had all the first aide stuff in it and looked to see what was in there. It was mostly simple stuff, some bandages and what not. There was some soap in it surprisingly. "Do you have much experience with first aide?" She asked her partner while looking through the odd assortment of things. "I tend to get lots of little cuts and what I normally do is just wash it with soap and then wrap it up with some bandages." She said pulling the two items out of the crate and held them out to Hilda. "Do you wanna fake your injury first or me?"

Hilda was disappointed. They could move on to the next part of the test, but she thought they would do better at building the shelter. She couldn't blame Rennati, but she was disappointed in herself. Next time she would have to do better. Was there someone she could ask about tent building?

"You can fake it first," Hilda said. "Medic Hilda at your service!" Bypassing the gauze and soap Rennati held out, Hilda took the first aid box to examine the equipment herself. She eyed everything, not quite sure what any of it was. A white roll of gauze caught her eye and she picked it up, unwinding several feet of the gauze wrap. That would be useful for the gash. She could use it to staunch the flow of 'blood'. The kit had plenty of jars and tubes. Hilda picked out a few, examining the labels. They were all different ointments, for bug bites and burns and even chapped lips. Leaving the ointments, Hilda found two pieces of wood.

They must be for making a fire to cauterize burns and cuts, Hilda reasoned.

A small stitching kit was next. Hilda looked it over, glancing down at the buttons of her own shirt. A sewing kit made sense. Hilda figured patching up the clothing of the wounded was the least a medic could do while their patient was resting. It was a nice personal touch.

Just before she closed the box, she noticed something wrapped in canvas. It was very thin, but when she picked it up she realized it had weight to it. Hilda turned it in her hand and untied the ribbon holding the canvas shut. Inside was a saw. "We'll call this Plan B," Hilda said, eyeing Rennati's arm and imagining a huge gash there.

"Okay, Rennati," Hilda said, holding up the gauze. "You have a severe gash wound! I will save you with my trusty first aid kit!" Hilda's voice was enthusiastic as she took the sticks and waved them around. "I'll grab this gauze and these sticks. I can use the gauze to stuff in the gash to stop the flow of blood. Then I'll apply pressure with these sticks." Hilda was totally convinced her insane scheme was the perfect way of treating a cut, and her face was shining with confidence.

If that didn't work, Hilda figured she could always use the rubber strappy things in the kit to apply a tourniquet above the gash. And then there was that saw.

Shun was hardly amused as the tent came down with one kick. Grumbling under his breath, he crawled out from under the tarp, then went on over towards the first aid stations.

He eyed Farvardin warily as she gave a sort of grin. Then, with a sigh, he pointed at his leg. It was his left thigh.

"Let's say here."

Farvardin nodded and looked at the supplies she grabbed. "Well depending on the type of puncture wound and how deep and things like that I may have to put in stitches or if no needle or thread is available then I would possibly need to cauterize it. Let's just say you have a shallow one and just putting some layers of gauze or other cloth over it and wrapping it will work." She said. She put several layers of the gauze over his left thigh and then began to wrap it.

"Hm.. well I would also have to either get you to strip off your pants or cut them off. Also would have to clean the wound but I don't think you really want that to happen." She commented looking up at him for a quick moment, "Okay done!" She sat back and looked at her work. It was wrapped but was rather loose.

"We need to keep pressure on it as well, correct? To help slow the bleeding?"

Cuts and stuff were things he was a little more familiar with. He hadn't done anything like cauterize or whatever, but he had cleaned and tended to some minor wounds before.

"Yes, that sounds about right. Good."
