If Lex hadn't been distracted with fiddling with Regal after releasing the charge, he probably would have given Wash what for. Thankfully, the man apologized. All was good, even if his shield was down a little lower.
When Ami gave him her last bandages, he smiled widely. Apparently seeing her on her birthday had done something for their budding friendship. He slapped it the back of his hand, feeling it rejuvenate his shield. Almost good as new.
And then he misfire and shot Jordan. Son of a-

Torgus ran dead on for the fog beast as confusing emotions played against his mind. There was the twinkle of something on the tray in her hands, something that called to him...
After all, he was a cut above the rest, wasn't he? Baca had never truly appreciated his genius, always berating him every time he made the smallest mistake. Pfft. She just didn't understand - no one did, he was all alone, and no one understood him -

Rep was trying to hit Julie and hit a passing gaudily dressed horseman by mistake.
It was a legit error ok.
He might have been smirking as he did it. See, he could fight things. Stupid ******** people always underestimating him. He could hit horsemen and he could be a badass.
He kept looking back to the crowns, and even as soon as he'd struck the unlucky passer-by, his attention swung right back to them.

Bix's head swam with need for the crown and the cocktail of emotions that seemed to be driving everyone into a frenzy. Foes and friends alike were muddled in fog, striking out at anything that moved.
Bix's fingers once more hesitated on his bowstring and he merely fired into the mist.
Sorry Rep.

Gene made eyes at the crowns. No, not again - please not again.
Yet it happened. A strange hunger grew in her core, telling her that she deserved a crown. She was unappreciated, no one treated her the way she deserved. She needed a crown, then they'd treat her like she deserved.
She made a false swipe, but failed to connect. Rats.
Some help Shikoba was. Her elf disintegrated in front of her before he could even touch it, and she stared at the wispy tendrils of where it was left behind, before shooting him a glare, then looking around the battlefield to see that indeed, all of the elves had disappeared.
Well, that was interesting.
"Move." She snapped at the man in the air in front of her, even as her own wings unfurled behind her, launching herself off of the ground both for a better vantage point and to get herself out of the horrible snow. Her dagger flashed in her hand just before she threw a well aimed blow at the human like figure, the gold from the crown still enticing to the horsewoman though she didn't know why.
Wary of the odd feelings mounting inside of her, the war chieftain flew backwards several long feet, hoping that the distance would help her to shake it off.
The blow from the red-haired hunter sent the horseman spinning, but he was too wrapped up in himself to notice. He felt overwhelmed. Awash on a sea of tears and emotions and even more tears okay, and not the eagle kind or the single manly tear kind but the kind where you snot all over yourself and your face gets blotchy and you just know you're the scum of the universe and no one understands your GREATNESS and-
"I HAVE SO MANY..."
He stopped, caught between a hiccuping sob and a haughty sneer.
"SO...SO MANY FEELINGS..."
He continued to jab wildly at the air with his massive knife, flailing erratically until he actually hit the foggy figure.

He almost doubled over as the crowns sang louder in his mind. So beautiful. Mmur moved forward of his own volition, the newly reformed elves dragging him closer to the vortex as well. His whip cut through the air, striking the fog. If he could disable the misty woman, they'd all be his. Stacked. On his head.

And then everything changed.
Once again, Madison felt clammy hands around her legs, pulling her closer to the crowns... and to the vortex. She tried to kick away, but... well. There were bigger things to hit. And if she continue to attack the one carrying the crowns, perhaps they might fall.
Perhaps she might claim one.
Madison lunged wildly, but her strike connected with a different target than her intended - though hitting a Horseman was a decent enough consolation prize. Still, the glee such a good hit would normally have brought her was fleeting, consumed in her desire for the crowns. Everything in her life up until this point felt distant and soft - surely, everything until now had been merely the path, a vehicle to bring her to this place, this moment, and her rightful prize.
After this point, with a crown in her hands, her life would truly begin.

The zomboil heard the calls of his friends as well, and it made something inside of him ease up a little, though he had to stand strong, had to make sure both himself and Sophie didn't end up sucked into that void. He had no doubt that where ever Medea was, she was okay. But she was a priestess, the head priestess. She was mysterious, and strong despite her frail features. She seemed to have a never ending supply of tricks up her sleeves. Alex, however, did not, and he did not wish to find out what was on the other side of that swirling vortex.
And so he held on.
"No, we should stay where we are. It's too easy to get lost in all of this." He gestured with his free hand. "Sophie, I'm sorry. I'm sorry you're here and that...you had to see all of this. When we get out I'll explain everything to you, and---" His words cut off abruptly when suddenly the elves that had tugged against became nothing more then wisps of fog, collapsing and gone again. He let his body relax. He even went so far as to let go of Sophie's hand, just for a moment, as he turned towards her.
"Yes, we'll all go home together. Of course." He gave her the best smile he could manage, though while the elves were gone, the woman with the tray of crowns was still there. Something about those crowns called to him, just as the red crown had done before. He had been able to resist that call the first time, but this time, with three of them ringing out, the urge to procure one was even stronger then before.
No, he had to fight this, he could fight this. Alexander closed his eyelids and concentrated, reminding himself of who he was, how what ever it was those crowns offered, it was not something he wanted for himself.
And then the elves returned, and he found himself being pulled, torn away from his sister as his eye shot back open in surprise. He was down on the ground in an instant, pulled along towards the void.
"No!" He cried out, kicking at the elves that slid him through the snow easily, further and further away from his sister and his friends. He scrabbled for purchase with his hands, for something to grab a hold of. Finally a large rock within grasping distance slid by, and he reached out for it, grabbed a hold of it with his deathgrip. He wrapped his arms around that anchor, again kicking at the elves until they relented enough for him to see that he was close, very close to the figure now. There were others attacking her around him but he didn't want to get any nearer then he was now. He let go of the rock with one hand, and grabbed for another, smaller one nearby, barely buried beneath the snow, and threw it at the woman.
He then looked back to where he had been, but could see nothing but fog. "SOPHIE!" He called out, hoping she could hear him. "I'M OKAY! JUST STAY THERE!"
CUMULATIVE DAMAGE TO BOSS: 325 The crowns had called him.
It wasn't truly an alien feeling, to want something so badly. Sharra swatted the elves away as he strove to attack the shadowy figure who held them. even as he was dragged closer, he knew that he needed to press forward, to overwhelm that twisted lass and her blinding smile. The nergal had far too many things that he was not willing to lose now, he knew that without a shred of doubt. He had come so very close to destroying everything that he held dear...and not even held in the twisted throes of Insanity. He'd nearly lost his love, his life, his mind, and now, right before him, was the answer. It was as though the rest of his vision was blinded and all he could see before him were those diadems.
He was getting closer now - closer to the dangerously swirling fog and the weird figure with her funny hats.
That hat would probably make him look fat. Like, PHAT. Because he'd be so awesome. But also so sad, and alone forever. He had no friends and was the worst no he was just too cool for them, clearly that was it-
His brain went into overdrive.
This was all very confusing, and he was pretty sure if the emotional roller coaster he was on didn't slow down his gizzard would rupture. Did he even have a gizzard? Maybe Bacca was right, maybe he was pretty useless, probably wasn't even good enough to have a gizzard, whatever they were -
Stabbing. That was the ticket. He'd just keep stabbing until everyone died and then he really would be FOREVER ALONE. It's not like they even missed him when the islands were destroyed.
His blade took a slice out of a nearby horseman, but he failed to notice. He was suffering. okay.

He didn't know when the elves returned, but they were there! The fog-like nature made AJ hard to attack them, they were not even real. However, the dragging force was there as he can feel he was getting closer to the ghoul and the vortex. The ringing of the crowns were deafening, together with the elves, it was not bearable. Not even a minute. He got to end this and he knew taking down the ghoul would be the only way. "Brother, it's time to end this!" AJ woke up his sleeping second head. He closed his eyes, tried his best to clear his mind and took a few minutes to accumulate the FEAR inside him. He needed to make a big hit this time, after missing so many. When he felt FEAR were around his hands, he put his hands onto the head, channeling the FEAR inside it as what he did in the first-aid workshop. "Go and snap her, brother!" The boil stood still and ordered the head to bite on the ghoul figure with its deadly venom. The head extended and snapped on her leg promptly. He watched as the ghoul lost her balance for a bit. It should be enough to make her suffer.

"No no.." Bix shook his head as the elves appeared again. Other's were closing in on the crowns and all he could think was that he was more deserving. He was worthy.
No one else.
Bix's bow pulsed as his volley of arrows came down into the crowd like a shower of volatile red rain. Each arrow stuck and exploded and individually they didn't cause much damage, but as a mass they were painful and deadly.
