Alyx knew he would be seeing the truth. She knew he'd see all those she had changed and every memory linked to it.

He looked at her and sent one thought to her 'Don't be the monster they wanted' He turned around and headed to the door and asked "Where are we headed?" He knew that she would probably see the mixed up feeling that he had and that nothing was simple.

"They never wanted a monster," Alyx whispered. She felt her legs give and she sank to the floor. "You see they wanted a soldier. I am not that. What they did is wrong but they had clearance to do it."

"There was many that called soldiers a necessary monster." Ace told her as he stood there. "Having clearance to do something doesn't make it right." He added.

The scientists continued to experiment with different combinations of liquids.Rowans body tensed up more as the pain increased with each liquid that was added.She fought to keep control of the changes that they wanted to happen and to remain human.

"I chose to be a monster," Alyx said. "I still am that monster. You see all of the Zombies...they're...linked to me. If I die so do they. One of them dying has no affect on me. Ace, please. How can you want me to live?" She hid her face in her hands in an attempt to hide her tears. Her shaking body gave her away though.

"You chose to get free" Ace told her. He walked towards her and pulled her into his arms and quietly said "You wanted to get free, no one can blame you for that. What you do now is what changes things. If the scientist and the labs are still running then your death and the death of the zombies will mean little to them. How about we make sure that they can't restart the same project or continue it?"

After a while Rowan blacked out and was unstrapped form the table and dragged out of the room.The guards took her back to her cell and tossed her in closing the door after.After a bit Rowan came to and stared out of the small window at the moon.

Alyx let her hands fall from her face and looked at him. She knew he could feel her feelings for him but didn't care. "Yes," she whispered.

Ace nodded his head and said "Alright." He could feel her feelings for him, but he wasn't sure what he was feeling for her. He told her "As to answer one of your questions from earlier, I do feel something for you and it isn't hate or resentment." He slowly let his arms fall down and said "Now how about we take care of the lab."

Ace just let out a sigh as he knew that no matter how hard he pushed she wouldn't see any value in her own life. He turned and started towards the door and asked "So where is this lab?"

Alyx coughed up a bit of blood and sent him an image of a place out west.
