Thanks Rhiannon, actually it's sort of a relief he was nearly 24 years old (I've had him since I was a kid) and the last few years have been a little rough on him. Basically he was goinf deaf and blind but also he had arthritis and skin cancer from playing in the australian sun with me. While it's sad to loose a pet I've had for so long, I'm glad he's at peace and no longer in pain

I share you love for the Dark Tower series.... I started it in high school and hated the wait for each book... which took quite a few years for some of them.
