Aria and her date, Christian moved through the crowd to dance, they had barely started when he suddenly looked pained. She had brought him to the side and asked what was wrong but he simply shook his head, looking as if he were about to vomit. She immediately thought of the punch, had someone spiked it? Maybe Christian was a major lightweight, but then again he did taste test hers.

She grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him through the crowd and out towards the entrance. She snagged the keys to the truck from his pocket as they went and continued on their way out. "Let's just go home then, no chance am I letting you vomit on this nice dress." She was kind of upset that she didn't get more time to dance and walk in it, but she would save that for later.

She helped him into the passenger seat and then went around to the drivers side. She had driven a car once, but hadn't really been one to care to learn. She started the car up and let out a deep breath, saying a silent prayer that she didn't kill anyone.

~~~~
She had taken a bunch of back roads home to the institute, and through luck or pure skill hadn't killed anyone.. yet.
She pulled up and left the truck by the curb, no way was she going to try and park this thing. She entered and helped Christian to his room before finding her way to one of the very few adults left at the school, telling them what happened and giving them the keys to the truck.
After that she decided to retire to her room, dancing around it in her dress on her own.
Farren felt her roommate tug her down to the floor just as she caught sight of Forge, his normally darken skin even more so now because of the black soot covering his face. She pointed to his form just as Orchid used her hair to drag the technology buff to wear they sat crouched. The two were getting really freaky on thinking on the same wave length sometimes. Something they liked testing for fun, and to mess with the other students at the mansion. The adults here weren't exactly known for their collective sense of humor, after all.
Before Forge could reply to the hair manipulator's snarky quip about bombs and such a number of things happened at once. First, a motor, stored rather oddly in one of the walls, revved on and Farren could feel the air being pushed up through the vents until the billowing smoke was gone. Meanwhile the fire safety sprinklers in the tiled ceiling were triggered and lowered themselves from the tiled ceiling, covering everything with a light layer of water. The moment the cooling water touched Farren's skin, she began to feel better, though she could still feel the poisonous gases circulating through her body looking for a way out. Forge, however, did not appreciate the raining water, as he immediately shot up, out of the tangles of Orchid's hair and bolted to his control panel on a nearby wall. The sprinklers shut off moments later, much to the floramancer's disappointment, and she stood warily before offering a hand up to Orchid.
"He doesn't really need robots, you know, chica." Farren stated with mirth in her eyes. "He's got the Alpha's and Omega's to test explosives out on. I'm sure Wolverine gets some sick enjoyment out of that." She turned to Forge as he approached the table the rooommates were standing by, assessing the damage done to his week's worth of valuable research. "What was that all about anyways?"
Forge wiped his face to clean away some of the ash with a towel he had stored in his pocket and the floramancer could see his cheeks were reddened slightly."Yes, well, that wasn't supposed to happen." Farren shot her friend a smirked look, before turning back to the Texas native.
"You mean, you weren't trying to blow up your lab, again? Cause that was the impression I got, right Orchid?" Farren shook her head in slight disbelief, no one could say accurately life at the Institute was boring, that much was certain.
User Image
"No, I really wasn't this time." This admission brought forth a couple of raised eyebrows, but he continued, "I was taking a break from studying a most recent abnormality," He shot a curious and calculating gaze to Farren before returning to restoring his tables as he went to explain further, "by examining an unusual rock I found on the grounds the other day. I had a brief flux of my sorcery powers and it seems the rock in question reacted negatively towards it. It emitted a sudden shock force that disrupted some of my machines and caused they to surge with power, thus the small explosion in the back half of my lab you two were caught up in. Satisfied his papers were safe and reasonably salvageable, he turned to face the two women completely. "Why are you two here anyways? Shouldn't you be at the prom, as you're so obviously dressed for?"
Roland responded to her quip about the sudden change in music with the insinuation that it may have been a product of his own design, the redhead giving him a raised eyebrow. Nevertheless, he insisted that they roll with the punches, something the redhead and inherently adept at, and she released another laugh as he said he'd take the lead with the apparent intent to put on a little show for the others in the room. Who was she to object?
If Kerrigan's ability weren't constantly active, she would likely have had a hard time keeping up with her date's movements as they began their modern tango. Kerrigan was never one to necessarily flaunt her natural athletic abilities, but they certainly came in handy in a variety of arenas. This was just another one that she could add to the list - it felt nice to be the one on display for a change. Their movements were natural with one another, complimentary in many ways. It was funny how they'd hardly spoken to each other before tonight, and now one could easily mistake them for a couple of some duration. Hell, over the previous few minutes, she'd let him touch her in ways other guys would get a broken wrist for. But, it was all in good fun, and as he teased, she teased back. After all, wasn't it the woman that was supposed to have the power in this kind of dance?
She heard a wolf whistle come from the crowd, which she'd momentarily forgot was there, and a fresh smile broke onto her features when she saw Lillian was the culprit. Giving the girl a flutter of her fingers as she spun and moved across the floor, she was glad to see more of the people she cared about making their way into the hall. At the very least it would be another person to make sure that Cissa didn't incinerate anyone over the course of the evening.
As the song came to a close, they struck their final pose, black heels showing as she wrapped her leg around around the back of his knee, their bodies so close that she could hear the beating of his heart as he smiled. Her chest rose and fell in time with her slightly elevated breathing, skin tingling, though the look on her fact was far from pained. It was refreshing to see him having such a good time, and perhaps the best self-validation that she could get. After all, it wasn't often she got a man's feathers so ruffled. And judging from his lingering hand on her cheek and nearly blazing eyes, she could safely assume that they were indeed ruffled.
"The Tango de Mutant, huh? Think it'll catch on," she asked with a wind grin, cheeks still flushed from their outburst of activity. It was a slightly awkward moment, the redhead not sure if she was going to move in for a kiss, and even more unsure as to whether she should be the one to make that move? Did he want her to? Did she want him to? It was something she'd never really thought about before - after all, he'd very clearly asked her to this little shin dig as a friend. Her foot returned to the floor, pale skin once more covered in a cascade of red silk. She brought one hand up to brush a loosened tendril of red hair behind her ear, while her other hand took hold of his.
"Alright, I need a drink after that. I'm parched. And we need to have a little discussion about where the hell those moves came from, because they're kind of amazing," she said with a grin, calling over the music which had once again changed, before raising his hand over her shoulder to follow along behind her. off the dance floor She saw a group of people forming around the snack table, the redhead releasing Roland's hand only when she moved towards the punch to pour herself a cup. Anything to keep her from starting to overanalyze everything that had just happened - for the first time in a long time she was having a genuinely good time with a guy, and the last thing she wanted to do was something stupid that would ruin it. Rolling with the punches was something the redhead did best, except when it came to men…and no doubt Roland was picking up on that very quickly.
A smile seemed permanently plastered on Tara's features as she wandered the edges of Prom on Thomas' arm. He joked about her giving him more work to do, though considering his nonverbal cues she could only assume he was talking about the Alphas and Omegas in general. It made her laugh, shaking her head in a flash of chocolate curls.
"It's not that we like giving you work to do. It's that we like to get ourselves in stations that require your expertise when we get back," she offered as her own explanation, giving him an amused grin. He claimed delicacy as she gave his arm a pinch at the insinuation that his life would be easier without his powers, causing Tara to roll her eyes with an amused snort.
"Oh, yes, I forgot how delicate you are given the fact you perform blood transfusions on yourself on a regular basis." The conversation then turned to the value of his blood, causing him to laugh at the notion that it was the equivalent of liquid gold. The notion of his blood tasting like gold made her laugh, shaking her head once more as he expressed fears of a vampire-esque attack if the word got out. He was quick to turn his attentions forward once more, apparently choosing not to latch onto the second part of her comment which was likely just as well. Especially if they were now going to be working together. The news was most welcome, the brunette glad to know that they would have someone valuable on the Alphas, as well as a good friend. That was never unwelcome news.
"About time? You should have just transferred up with me - we could have used someone like you when the mansion went to hell and I was turned into a zombie…and when we got stuck in a riot at the mall. But you're right, better late than never," she responded with a grin, the sharpness of her words not hiding the clearly pleased look on her facial features. He turned the topic of conversation to her attire for the evening, expressing his clear approval to which she was quick to respond. He of all people would know that she didn't hide the fact that she was sure of herself, and while that might come off as arrogant most of the time, it was better than having self-esteem issues. And Tara was not one to have self-esteem issues.
It only felt proper that she should ask about his date situation, to which he gave her an amused look. It was a perfectly legitimate question, given how little the geokinetic knew about his taste in women. How was she to know if there was a little filly somewhere in the Academy with his name on her or not? He looked around for a moment, Tara mimicking his gaze before he finally admitted that he was there stag and she didn't have to worry about a jealous confrontation at any second. Of course, when he mentioned that he was there as a chaperone, she raised an eyebrow, jokingly insisting that she behave herself so he didn't have to exercise his authority as chaperone.
"What's the fun of chaperoning if there isn't a little drama somewhere along the line," she responded with a mischievous grin, though he would know that she wouldn't do anything intentionally to have him get her in trouble. True, she was the first one to stir the pot when she got the opportunity, but tonight was, hopefully, going to be different. He turned the question back on her, to which Tara gave a quick nod.
"Yea, I'm here with someone, but it's a match of convenience. He matched my dress, and I make good arm candy. But he abandoned me to go check out a new guy he saw walking around with Bella, so here I am." Her shoulders rose and fell in a slight shrug, allowing him to steer them towards the snack table where there seemed to be quite a group forming. One of his purported reasons was to make it easier for her date to spot her, which made her laugh slightly. Surely he wasn't really worried about her date coming up and bopping him on the nose for hanging out with her? The notion, however, was rather amusing. And apparently shared, as Aurelie asked her if she'd changed dates for the evening.
"Not officially, but mine seems to have disappeared," she spoke back with a grin, eyes traveling over the blonde's form with an approving look. She was always gorgeous, but her choice of attire was spot on. Tara had to admit that she was jealous of the girl's natural beauty - she could have showed up in a smock and still looked stunning. Her eyes then moved to Lillian, who also looked stunning in an elegant red gown.
"You ladies look gorgeous, not that I had any doubts. I'm really glad you decided to come after all," she said to them, though the latter part of the statement was clearly directed towards Aurelie. Of course, that meant that as soon as her date knew that the blonde was around, he'd turn into some sort of love-sick puppy dog. She could work with this though - after all, this was Prom, and she was supposed to have fun, right?
Almost as if on cue, Leo reappeared, making a joke that he'd already been replaced as he poured himself a up of punch. He did not disappoint in his reaction to the blonde's presence nearly spilling punch all over the table. Detaching herself from Thomas's arm, she moved over to her proper date, linking her arm through his as she playfully rested her head on his shoulder. Her hand brought a napkin up towards him, offering it with a simple look.
"There you are. I was beginning to worry you'd run out on me. Here, you can use this to wipe the drool from your chin." Her features cracked into an amused smile, grinning as she reached out to get her own cup of punch. Suddenly, prom looked like a lot more fun...
Well, this is new.
User ImageRoland and Kerrigan finished their dance, and it seemed that both of them were a bit confused by the situation. It was quite an intimate moment admittedly, so they seemed to quickly diffuse it by vacating the dance floor. She remarked how their dance that she named the "Tango de Mutant" might catch on. He could tell she was excited, and having a good time. He could feel her pulse as she was pressed close to him during their dance. He'd asked her to this as a friend, but he honestly did not expect this to wind up going so well. He was honestly surprised over the whole evening itself. Aside from his rather idiotic moment before, this night has gone quite well. Roland was genuinely excited over the whole evening. And it seemed that he was entertaining his date as well. Jean would be pleased with this development in events. She placed a hand into his, and it felt good. He laced his fingers between hers, genuinely enjoying the touch to his scarred hands.
She remarked that she needed a drink, and to discuss where he learned to dance like that. She called it "amazing" to which Roland had to chuckle to himself a bit. No one had ever called him amazing before, except for Sonja.
And after tonight, perhaps he would be willing to put her behind him. She would want that just as much as he did at this moment, "Let's just say that I had a good teacher." he remarked to her, "And besides, I had a good dance partner. It's hard to find someone that can do that kind of thing with the confidence you had."
He honestly was enjoying himself. As their hands released, he himself took a cup of punch, and downed it in a gulp. He was hot from the dancing, and the cold punch felt good as it went down his throat. He didn't want to over think things, and he made himself a resolution for tonight:
If things happen, they happen. And when they do, he'd just go with it.
Felix couldn't help but to agree with the blond as they spun for a moment. The growl coming from her was somehow endearing. "It does kind of put things into perspective doesn't it?" Not that Felix was feeling sorry for the humans of course. Well most of them anyway. His upbringing had numbed him to such an emotion towards others. Still he wasn't a robot so naturally he could feel sorry for the humans that didn't deserve such treatment. When Narcissa continued speaking Felix nodded in agreement. "Staying off the radar would be nice. After all it should mean a peaceful night. Well as peaceful as can be expected. It wouldn't be a mutant prom without a little shenanigans." Were Cissa not currently his date Felix probably would have been involved with such things on some level. As things were he was content to simply dance and be envied by most of the straight men in the room.
The question of what she wanted to do next was silently answered as far as Felix was concerned considering they remained on the dance floor. Letting a few songs pass in silence as the blond leaned her head on his shoulder the warm her body offered was welcome. It was also a silent reminder of what she could do should he do something she didn't like. The sudden purr coming from the blond was quite odd as was the suddenness of her leaning back and pulling him closer to her by his tie. The final nail in the coffin of odd was the look on Cissa's face, it was completely foreign to Felix and therefore not one he liked in the least bit. She was up to something wasn't she? Instinct told him to guard his family jewels and for a moment his hand twitched towards before he stopped himself. He hadn't done anything wrong all night so this couldn't have been for him right?
Watching as the blond leaned forward, chuckling and touching her nose to his, Felix kept his gaze on her with a curious and perhaps slightly confused expression on his face. Somehow he imagined he might like her idea of fun as long as it didn't involve roasting anything on him. "Fun huh? I am always up for fun." Allowing himself to be lead to the punch table Felix took the two punch cups that were handed to him. Why was she getting two cups as well? Listening to the question that followed, Felix looked in the direction Cissa was speaking of his eyes landed on Raine and internally he let out an 'Oh' at the sight of Aren and Raine. So this was what she had meant by fun? Shame. While normally Felix would have had no problem lying to the blond he didn't see the harm in answering truthfully. "Yes I do."
The blond continued mentioning having never met the brunette and introducing them and Felix raised an eyebrow at her. The impression he had got from Raine every time Cissa was mentioned was that she knew the blond and had met her. While Felix wouldn't doubt that Cissa would forget her on purpose he figured this was something else. The blond knew Raine on some level and had met her, of that Felix was sure. Not to mention the tone it was delivered in. For now Felix would play ball though. "I can do that I suppose." There was no need to mention that the omega on Raine's arm had almost been Felix himself. At the mention of offering his drinks the speedster nodded figuring he could at least do that much. Seeing a drunk Aren and or drunk Raine was much too amusing to pass up after all. "I think I can manage that."
Following the blond over to the pair of prom goers Felix hadn't even considered that Raine might not have heard who his date was. Stopping in front of them Felix gave Aren an amused look. For now he would let Cissa talk and simply watch the resulting chaos. As Cissa mentioned the drinks he held them out in silent offering to the two mutants. Returning the offered nod from Aren in an amused way as Cissa examined Raine's dress for a few scant seconds, Felix returned to silently listening. He didn't miss the subtle thought from Aren that maybe he should have asked Cissa instead. So he had thought the blond had not intended to come? It was his loss and Felix's gain.
Grinning at Aren as the native mentioned his kiss he couldn't swallow the comments that came after. "I am sure she contemplated it. The kiss was anything, but sloppy however. It was more like a sampling of fine wine. For someone who has never experienced such a thing I can understand your confusion though." Felix was sure Aren knew it was all in good fun. Cissa was another story and for a moment he hoped she had not heard the comment. The night had been going so well before now after all. The amused look didn't leave his face as Aren mentioned being disappointed someone had got further along then him in that conquest. For a moment though Felix couldn't help but think 'poor Raine'.
A sideways glance was given to Cissa as a very warm hand brushed against his almost in a threatening way. Watching the blond as she spoke and then look up towards him in a way that was quite suggestive, Felix turned another amused expression to Aren. "Aw you are going to make me blush kitten." Oh yeah he was going to hear it for that comment later, but Felix just couldn't help himself. No doubt the roasting of his chestnuts over the open fire would commence later. It was worth it though. As Aren turned down the offer of punch mentioning he didn't indulge Felix gave him a look of understanding. "It's alright Tiny, I understand. I would be quite scared to go against me in a drinking contest as well. Not everyone is man enough after all." The tone it was delivered in was a very 'there there' tone like one might use with a child. Felix was again sure Aren would get the joking tone of it all. While Cissa clearly didn't have pure intentions, Felix was finding it all to be just good fun.
As Aren continued about showing a lady a good time Felix inclined his head in understanding. "I suppose you can be let off the hook this time. We can drink anytime after all. Well I can anyway." It was a silent challenge for Aren for the future should the man choose to accept. Somehow Felix didn't think the man would disappoint. Felix was sure they would get along famously. Letting the blond finish trying to goad Raine into drinking, Felix looked to Aren as the man mentioned just letting the girls drink. "Oh yes I think I can manage that just fine." Granted Cissa would want him in her room again anytime soon. Needless to say Felix was quite ready for a Cissa and Raine drinking contest. Letting the native finish trying to get them to do it Felix grinned. "That does sound like a... good idea." Things were still going to turn out quite interesting even if he would have preferred to see both Raine and Aren drunk at the same time.
Alpha: Oh fun times to be had at the prom..
User ImageLillian looked at the blond on the bed. A serious look held on her face. She could explain how the girl prevented the city from being uninhabitable. Could tell her that if not for her actions the death toll would of been exponentially higher. Or even that it's unknown just how far the fall out would of been. From what Lillian had heard those under Magneto after being refused to be joined were very much out for keeps. For all anyone knew the fallout could of been designed to carry even as far as the academy itself. But the look Aurelie had made it clear she had heard probably anything and everything on the situation and more on her actions. So that time Lillian just held her tongue and smiled brightly before returning to the search of a dress.
"Besides your going to be in great company." There was a short pause before she continued. "Mine." Lillian said looking back briefly and continued in a tone meant to convey she was just messing around. Sure a non fancy gown was not the accepted norm of such an event, but really who cares. Lillian wasn't excited back in highschool about her own prom. Granted she did have a whole other reason for it given her no touchie power and all. Even now Lillian liked to distract herself from the thought of her exposed skin. "Oh it's just cause your sister is probably stuck in thinking of things along the norm that tradition has placed on such things. But if she could see you when I am finished with you." She couldn't help but letting the devilish smirk adorn her features. "Lets just say it will alter all her perceptions on the subject." The power mimic couldn't help the almost mad scientist like glee from her voice.
Lillian couldn't help but let out a light laugh at Aurelie's actions reguarding her comment on hanging out in the nude. "Oh oh I know. But hey at least you know when hanging around me interesting times can be had." The poor TK user was probably now afraid of what may happen while in the company of the power mimic. Even minus the fact that with a simple touch of another person could alter Lillian's personality for a time.
"No truer words could of been said." Lillian said at the comment of there being less reputable to pick up after. It was true more of her time was spent around some of the older X men then around those her own age. Given that she was often found in the med bay or Forge's lab. If she wasn't with them she would be around Cissa.
Now that the dress had been chosen and the two set out to make Aurelie look breath taking. "Oh no luck needed. Just that naturally beautiful self of yours." She responded to the blonde's comment wishing the power mimic luck in making her gorgeous.
--------------------------------------------------------
"Oh ye of little faith." Lillian said to Aurelie before laughing at her mention of her stating telling her sister she would never wear the dress. "Best not tell her I got you to wear it or evil evil plans could be devised." She couldn't help but letting out a slightly evil sounding laugh with her finger tips steepled together. That only lasted a couple seconds before a bright smile returned to her face.
The prom itself was certainly in motion as the room at the university was packed with people. Some sitting at the tables, the dance floor, snack table, as well as some outside for fresh air. Lillian beamed slightly at the wave that was nothing more then a flutter of fingers from Kerrigan after her wolf whistle. She turned and beamed at Aurelie as well when she said she would only bolt if forced to dance. "Good but you know if the mood strikes you to dance just go with it."
Lillian grabbed a carrot from the veggie platter. Popping it in her mouth as Aurelie took that moment to speak with Tara and the man standing next to her (Thomas). When Tara commented that she and the blonde looked gorgeous it made her smile. "See told you I would make you look gorgeous." She commented to Aurelie before turning her attention to Tara and Thomas. "Sure it took some prodding to get this one to come." After giving them a quick once over she added. "And I must say you and your well not date there look amazing yourselves."
It was only a moment later Leo appeared with another man (Blake). For a second Lillian tried to place where she had seen Blake before he did look familiar. She would remember eventually or he would introduce himself. But those thoughts were put on hold at Leo's reations to seeing Aurelie. Leaning close to the blonde she whispered in the girls ear. "Who is being out shined here? Boy didn't even notice me." She stood back straight and shrugged. "Hey it is not like I had many options sans gloves. If you would of prefered I could of just grabbed hold of your shirt, potentially exposing you to others in the room and halls. I will remember that for next time." Her attention went back Leo. "And you mister. I know I made her look positively breath taking and all. But really no love for the girl who put you back together after some metal sharks got through with you." She said with a look of mock hurt. It was somewhat difficult when Tara handed him a napkin and mentioned it was for the drool. Yep she could see herself and Tara getting along just fine.
Aren, in true gentleman fashion, reassured her that she might be spared Narcissa's wrath considering it had been he that asked her to accompany him for the evening, though in the pit of her stomach she knew that it wouldn't be so easy. In the blonde's mind, all the Omegas belonged to her, and she was sure the Omega leader would see her coming to the dance with the size-shifter as a theft of one of her possessions. A possession she had to be protective of, for whatever reason. The simple solution would be for the firefly to stop associating with those in red and black, but for whatever reason, she refused to let Cissa win in that respect. And it was that stubbornness that lead to her constantly being tormented by the horrid little imp from hell.
Almost as if her comment had been a premonition, she saw Cissa and Felix making their way towards herself and Aren. Like a snake, she whipped herself into their path, effectively blocking off any escape, and Raine suddenly had the feeling that she was trapped. Consider present company, that was never really a good thing, but this was Prom. There'd be hell to pay before she backed off and let the Omega leader ruined what had started out as such a wonderful night. The firefly remained silent as Narcissa addressed Omega company first, remarking that she'd wondered if Raine had stood him up as an excuse for their relative tardiness. Raine flashed the girl a smile as Aren corrected her on the name in his explanation of why they were really late, a grin sneaking its way onto her features. The idea of one of her Omegas sharing an intimate dinner with herself was sure to get Narcissa's blood boiling a little bit. At least, she would have that as ammunition if the night took a sour turn.
Of course, just when she thought she might be in the clear, ruthless blue eyes turned on Raine, the brunette knowing that the blonde was intentionally getting her name wrong in an attempt to get her riled up. The worst part was that it was working - few others would know the depth of insult attempting to penetrate her always professional demeanor. However, she managed to keep her smile pleasant, a hand moving to her chest as the Omega leader "complimented" her dress color, as if it was the sweetest thing she'd ever heard.
"I am so glad you like it, but I'll just never be a match for your sense of style," she responded, her tone honey sweet despite the anger bubbling in the pit of her stomach. Most others wouldn't realize what exactly was…happening here. This was a war. The official start to a passive-aggressive girl war.
She caught sight of Cissa's hand brushing Felix's and it almost took the brunette by surprise how much it hurt her. What hurt worse, however, was the conversation she caught going on between Aren and Felix. The words "sloppy kiss" were like a knife through the heart, breath catching in her throat as she had to fight hard not to show that she was affected by the notion of one of her so-called "friends" locking lips with the devil incarnate. Add to that the fact that he seemed to enjoy it, and then to hear her own date insinuate that he was disappointed it had not been him - well, this was just not how tonight was supposed to go at all.
She suddenly felt like she was in the way of the conversation. Like she should just leave and let the three of them have whatever fun they wanted. But that was exactly what Cissa wanted. And Raine was determined to show her that she couldn't have everything she wanted with a snap of her fingers and a well placed insult.
Her expression, which was taking all of her energy to remain soft and not drawn down into a deep scowl, never wavered as she glanced between the blonde and the speedster before reaching out to accept the cup of punch as it was offered to her. There was something…wrong…about this entire situation, but she wasn't about to back down and show that she cared how the blonde was treating her. That would allow the Omega tyrant to win - it was unacceptable. She warned them that the punch may very well be spiked, which didn't shock Raine in the slightest, though she took a sip of it anyways. That was, as it turned out, likely a mistake, as Cissa toyed with Felix as if he were her own personal boy toy. She was perfectly aware of how Felix looked in his suit - damn good - but she didn't want the blonde's claws kneading further into him as she deliberately tried to hurt the firefly. Couple that with the fact that he seemed to be sucking it all up, even going so far as to give her an affectionate pet name, her stomach turned. The topic of conversation, however, turned to drinking, which was almost a welcome relief. Almost, until Narcissa once more set into the firefly with a new host of underhanded comments.
"You're sweet, Narcissa, but my figure's nothing compared to yours. It fills out that dress so nicely. But you're right, we certainly don't want anyone to resemble trailer trash in any way, shape or form." It didn't take much for the brunette to realize that she was dangerously close to losing control of her electricity store, which would, unfortunately, shock poor Aren if she didn't keep her emotions in check. And dammit, it was certainly becoming a lot harder the longer she had to stand there and be insulted under the table while having to pretend to be civil to the one person on the entire campus that she just thoroughly could not stand. She wanted to cry as the blonde deliberately tilted her head to rest against Felix's arm, a silent claim that it was yet another person that Raine was forbidden from interacting with. But, rather than submit to the powerful emotional urges of a teenage girl, Raine chose the more…productive option. Getting pissed off enough to fight literal fire with fire.
She felt Aren's hand find the small of her back, body turning to lean into his as she slid up a hand to rest against his chest with a quick, nonchalant glance towards Cissa. The native, insisting that he didn't drink, comments on his charge to make sure she had a good time, which made her smile softly. Just when he couldn't get more perfect - that was sure to stick Cissa in a wrong place. A smile spread across her features as he asked if they trusted the men enough to take care of them if they decided to drink like a fish, before asking if either of them were up for a few rounds. It felt like a trap, but with a pointed grin in Cissa's direction, she took another drink of the punch in her hand.
"I trust you," she said with a smile, glancing up at her date with a playful grin. Felix too seemed enthused about the situation, though as far as she was concerned for the rest of the night, he was dead to her. If he wanted to play the Omega puppet, who was she to stop him? Let the games begin.
Who can you trust in this place?
In whom can I put my faith?
If you're real then show me now--Who you are...
How can I love without grace?
Shine a light on your face...
If you're real then show me now--Who you are...
“Autism? You blame that on autism? Autism??”, Isabella demanded, her voice getting higher in pitch everytime she repeated the word. Her carefully sculpted eyebrows had slid up her forehead in a way it rarely did…Politics were an exceedingly rough subject for her, as of late. “He is the reason the airport in New York, that I touched down at last year, was the victim of a mutant hating riot… He determined that they didn’t need anymore security at the inbound terminal….Even though the airline had been receiving threats for weeks.”
“I walked in to see the luggage carousel on fire…Say it with me…”, she raised her hands as if she were conducting an orchestra, “Inbred.”
She crossed her arms, stewing about how mothers of autistic children everywhere would likely take offense to being compared to that…Failed experiment of a man. Only to forget the topic when Blake seemed to have to shove his fist in his mouth at her mention of beads at Mardi Gras…Her head tilted confused…Was it something she’d said?
“You go down to Mardi Gras and watch the parade…They throw them off the floats…”, she responded slowly, as if he were just a little daft. Displaced chromosomes were once again coming to mind. Her hands raised in the air, shaking as she shook her head at his offer to pay and escort her… He really was daft wasn’t he? “I don’t—You don’t need to do that.”
Any ulterior motive went directly over her head.
“If you wanted to come along, I wouldn’t mind…But you should spend your money on you. I’ve saved up enough.”, Isa explained, her eyes hitting the ground…Her family made a decent, honest living through the brewery…But her mother had always tried to instill some sense of humility into her. She didn’t have the trust fund and assets that Blake had available to himself. She bought things from consignment shops out of choice, and frequently made her own clothes, both because she’d rather save than spend needlessly—And also because she enjoyed it.
That isn’t to say that she didn’t like the occasional shopping spree…She just liked to be prepared, and prided herself on good budgeting skills.
She grinned though when he mentioned that it would likely be expensive bail over her head, if she bewitched an entire crowd. He was likely the only one she knew, with that kind of money, that she could call, if something like that happened. There was always Lillian…But Isabella would feel infinitely guilty… And neither Scott not Emma would ever let her live that particular embarrassment down. “On second thought…You should definitely come with.”
“But I’m still paying for my own ticket.”
Her smile lingered despite herself, when he rebuked her words about garden snakes…”What….Do you prefer then, nene, if not garden snakes-- Pythons?”
She waved off the blame as easily as one brushed off a butterfly, knowing that he would likely be just as exasperated with that comment, as he was with the first. Clearly…It was his fault for not making it expressly clear, which lane in the game of life he’d chosen. After all… She only wanted her friend to be happy.
“Of course you played for the other team. Most girls don’t date boys that pretty…They’d be too afraid that the boy is prettier—And they’d be jealous all the time. That’s not a healthy relationship…”, Bella reasoned, trying to hide a smirk behind her hand. She was teasing, of course…Clearly she knew better from how many women had tried to get their claws in him over the years. “That isn’t the first time…But really…Pretty isn’t the same as handsome, Blake…”
She laughed outright when he suggested getting her drunk, emerald eyes shining in the dim light…They hadn’t seemed so full of life in a very, very long time. Laughter might not have been a cure all…But it was certainly a temporary fix. It took the edge of darkness off of her…Made her feel more like herself. More than just another mutant walking dead girl…Of course she knew he was joking, but she couldn’t help but give as good as she got. “To celebrate? It sounds like someone could try to take advantage of me in that state…”
Her giggles quieted down slowly as he mentioned passing on the shape changers…Knowing that when he brought up his horses—All bets were off. He loved those hoofed beasts like…Like she loved music. Bella didn’t have anything against horses…She’d passed her Equestrian classes easily enough...But she didn’t feel the same way about them that Blake did.
It was one of his more…Endearing quirks.
“Your parents are just too smart for their own good…Maybe you weren’t a product of inbreeding afterall.”, she returned with a smile and a playful wink, pushing her hair behind her ear... She’d finally stopped trying to use it as a curtain to hide from the man beside her.
He just saw through her anyway. There was no point.
“It’ll have to be over the weekend…When we aren’t mission bound.”, Bella spoke thoughtfully, her eyebrows coming together as she tried to think what plans she had the following weekend. She hadn’t scheduled a danger room session in quite some time…Mostly due to her feelings of ineptitude. The way Narcissa chastised her about her team sometimes went straight to her heart…As much as she knew the woman was just cruel…Sometimes, it ate at her.
She shook her head when he mentioned a few girls thinking that things were more than they were. “Well…I was, in a way…All of my friends kept disappearing…I didn’t want you to go too. It just… Wasn’t like they thought.”
“And besides…You picked on me so much—Scott once asked if you were bullying me…How could they think that?”
Isabella remembered that Blake was still a mentor…But the thing that she didn’t point out—Was that Narcissa would know to. Except that the Red Queen wouldn’t care. The woman would keep Blake out of sheer spite, of any of her previous actions were something to go by. He squeezed her hand, drawing her from her thoughts, and she sighed…He was so confident he could handle things… She hoped that it wasn’t misplaced. She squeezed his hand in return, sighing as she ran her free hand through her hair…”It’s a shame really…You would make a pretty Alice.”
She merely grinned as she chased the necking kids out of the woods, covering her mouth to stifle her giggles… Only to have to try and force down a blush when he requested a more in depth explanation...How much clearer could she be? Oh... “You are not confused, Blake Tanner.”
“Why are you so horrible to me?”
It would have never occurred to her to take Leo’s fake pass at her seriously…If anything, she took it as an invitation for a shoulder to cry on in need be. Not that she could bring herself to take him up on it. As the leader, she ought to be strong enough to avoid breaking down in front of her teammates. But of course, feeling Blake elbow her lightly—Catching his grin in the dark…She knew he was taking it the wrong way. Probably on purpose. Rolling her eyes, she shoved at him, knowing that her meager strength wouldn’t move him much. “He is not.”
Blake hadn’t spoken his intent, but she still knew him well enough to know what he was thinking from time to time.
One again as Leo spoke, reiterating what she’d already informed Blake about the Omega’s—She mouthed a silent thank you. Of course, Blake would think her overreacting…Maybe he would believe it if it came from another guy? Though…He probably believed them well enough…He just thought he could handle it. The thought of Narcissa trying to put holes in her friend made her blood run cold…Mostly, because it was a direct possibility.
“Please survive…”, came her reflexive response…The words barely a whisper. It might have gone unnoticed by both men as her eyes flickering to the twig covered ground.
Hearing Blake’s comment about the tree, her eye twitched. “Yes… And then you’d LEAVE them stuck in the tree.”
Her eyes returned to Leo when he commented that this was child’s play for her, and she rewarded him with a pretty smile…”At least -someone- has faith in my ability to scare some teenagers out of the woods.”
Though the pretty smile was quickly turned into a blushing frown...Did people really get the wrong idea about Blake and herself that quickly? Bella didn’t understand it…
The songstress grumbled in Spanish as she headed back inside, feeling Blake shadow her every step…On occasion, she turned to give either of them a teasing dirty look. When they got back inside, she didn’t realize at first that Leo had left, all of the noise assaulting her senses in a way that for a moment…She was entirely overwhelmed. Deaf. She gained a handle on the situation, her eyes regaining focus as she took it in stride. “I guess a lot of people showed up…”
Bella remained on the edge of the dance floor…A certain sad expression creeping over her features. She wanted to dance…Badly. Jealousy the size of a mountain crept through her while she watched the happy people, her arms crossing to keep herself from swaying at all. Her emerald gaze turned back to Blake when he mentioned her growl. “You do know, I could make you quack like a duck everytime you’re in my presence indefinitely…Right?”
Narcissa chuckled sweetly when Felix responded, affirming that he would be able to manage introducing them. She might have come across the little blue harlot a hundred times…But it was common knowledge that she took no interest in Alpha’s. Even though she knew their files almost as well as her Omega’s…She led everyone else to believe that something so trite as knowing their names was far beneath her. “Good… This wouldn’t be nearly as much fun without a…What do you call it? A wingman?”
Upon cutting off the happy couple, Aren smoothly corrected her on his new dogs name, and Narcissa’s face immediately fell into something apologetic and perfectly contrite when she glanced to the red clad Alpha.Raine? Ruth is so much more respectable…I’m so sorry—Your parents must have truly hated you.”
“Don’t worry love…You can legally change that now.”
The blond bombshell would have awarded herself an Emmy for Best Actress if she were in a position to do so. It took every ounce of self control, not to discretely light the little Alpha pup on fire. No doubt the economical dress she wore would go up in flame without much trouble… ‘Ruthie’ seemed to want to play a game that she had no standing in. Both of the men they currently stood beside, one way or another, belonged to her.
That wasn’t going to change, no matter what kind of ‘talk’ she and Aren had had before their arrival. They were still two different creatures.
It used to be where Alpha’s knew their place in the scheme of things... Usually cannon fodder and the butt of a good joke, while the Omega’s, out of sheer skill, handled all the ‘heavy lifting’. Ah, the good ole days. But now, their damnable leader had them thinking they were actual people.
b***h.
Glittering sapphire eyes landed on the native when Aren questioned her attendance, the use of her favored pet name drawing her attention away from potentially mauling “Ruthie”. Her expression seemed to clear itself of all malicious intent for a moment…The woman beneath the caustic comments and perfect grace peeking through for a split second. Only Aren knew her well enough, to know that she might have felt he had done her some kind of disservice…
Even though she would have said no, had he of asked her...It was the simple fact that he hadn’t. Effectively, he’d chosen an Alpha over her. He thought her lower, than her mortal enemies. She found it incredibly, and deliberately insulting.
Her wish to be polite for Aren’s sake had abruptly ended. Her anger, she realized, was his fault.
“I find the concept juvenile and out dated…But my presence is still required.”
“You should have asked my thoughts…”,
she trailed off mirthlessly, turning her form faintly to rest the line of it against her date, warm fingers slipping just inside his vest, above the button. She’d not want him to feel left out...Not when he was playing her game so well. “…Instead of assuming.”
She chuckled, almost good naturedly…Were it not for the dark layer of brutality that threaded underneath it all as the men discussed the “sloppy kiss”. Her tone was dulcet as darker colored lashes dusted against porcelain cheeks…Rose colored lips forming a petulant, kittenish smirk…Only reinforcing the pet name that she’d temporarily let slide under the radar. She did not at all miss how much the Alpha seemed to hate her standing so close to the speedster...“Felix is right…I did think about it.”
“I reasoned that…Anyone that would so clearly risk his future progeny to impress me—Just to take me to this silly soiree was worthy of one evening...And the continued existence of the “important parts” you mentioned. ”
That was perhaps the first true thing she’d said since crossing paths with Raine and Aren.
Hearing Aren voice his teasing disappointment and his refusal of the punch, her head tilted as she evaluated him…All things were grenades for later on… Every word uttered, could, and would be used against them.
Her eyes left the native, and returned to the far...Far less attractive form of Ruthie Raine out of sheer curiosity. Why was she still even here? Hearing her comment about style, the blond goddess allowed her head to tilt in what appeared to be modesty…”Don’t worry…No one would ever expect someone like you to reach my level of perfection. ”
Again, her countenance and tone became apologetic…Her eyes flickering over the Alpha’s form, with clinical precision. “Though…Considering what you’ve got to work with—You did very well.”
The men started discussing their drinking situation…But Narcissa could care less.
“I was never concerned with us getting to our beds… It’s waking up in them alone, that will be the test.”
She had plans. And they wouldn’t ruin them by reaching some kind of crude, boy agreement. It seemed that Raine could give as good as she got though…And for that, she earned a smidge of grudging respect. But not enough to save her.
Especially not after her next line. It was smooth, and delivered so softly…That if Narcissa wasn’t primed for insults and hidden invective…She might have missed it. Had Raine just…Called her fat?
Called HER -fat-?
Taking the drink that she’d held—She downed it simply… Setting the empty cup on a nearby table... A challenge, for the little spitfire.
“That’s so kind of you to say. But you’re a woman, you know how we love those little compliments…We need a couple of… Impartial judges.” She moved gracefully, her hand again falling to Felix’s tie to teasingly pull him along…As if this whole conversation were the most amusing, friendly thing in the world. The lights glinting off her skin, and the sylphlike way that she moved was more beguiling than any woman ever had a right to be. It was incredibly unfair to any men present.
Her free hand, surprisingly just barely warmer than that of a normal human came to rest on top of the hand that Raine had sitting so harmlessly on Aren’s chest.
As if it had a right to be there.
“Tell me gentlemen…Was white a poor color choice? Does it not flatter my figure properly enough?”, she questioned, deliberately moving closer to the size shifter…Just as she’d stood innocently beside Felix moments before, she let the line of her body press flush to the side of Aren that wasn’t occupied by an Alpha. Sharp, cruel eyes remained on Raine… At her proximity…There would be very little that either Aren or Felix wouldn’t be able to feel. She smiled at Raine, and it suddenly became wolfish… As if things had suddenly gotten worse. “And Aren...”
He was the one that always pressed the issue between them. She was the one who backed away and drew lines of propriety. For once, for respect to his date, he’d be the one forced to do so.
It served him right.
“Don’t be disappointed that Felix got a kiss...Because really… You’ve had more of me in your lap than he ever has… ”, she spoke without looking away from the dark haired girl, her stare unnerving…Touch and presence clearly threatening…She glanced up at Aren, azure eyes filled with palpable warning and mysterious elements he would have a hard time reading. “And if kissing is what you wanted…That’s easily rectified.”
She chuckled, leaning up on her tip toes to press a teasing kiss to his cheek, leaving a faint mark from her lipstick… Before drawing away, back into Felix’s arms as if she’d never left. The tips of her fingers lit up, and she drew a heart in the air, almost like a fourth of July sparkler—Coupling it the wink of a minx…Before she plucked a cup of punch from a server passing by, and held it out to Aren... “And I planned on calling a town car to take us home…So drink to your hearts content…I’m definitely ready for a few rounds…And so are you. Babysitting a couple of drunk women won’t be a good time.”
The look in her eyes bespoke that it was no longer a request. She fully expected her Omega’s to get knackered.
And if they refused… It would just be one more reason for her to stop playing nice.
User ImagexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxOmega - A night with Raine
It was hard to keep his laughter clamped down when Felix mentioned that he'd never experienced such a fine thing in his life as one of the speedster's kisses. “Then I'll thank my ancestors tonight before bed, that I've never had to have those sort of relations with you.” Aren countered, grinning all the while. “As if that's the definition of fine, I'm okay to live on the less refined side of things for the rest of my life. His eyes shifted to Raine as Narcissa glanced at her own date, just briefly to tell her it was his way of making this potential fire hazard a bit more relaxed – not that he wished he could replace the brunette with another woman for the evening.
To do so, would have been crass. And completely unlike the size shifter in any way. “Kudos to him then.” The Blackfoot native said, tipping his chin upwards for a fraction of a second in reverence. For the man's bravery, Felix had earned a night with one of the institute's royal court.
He'd subtly corrected the Omega queen on Raine's name, wishing that just doing so would serve as a cue that he desired a truce between the rivals for one evening. A part of him was sorry that he'd asked the girl to prom; if he hadn't, then she wouldn't have been placed in the position she was now. The Alpha glossed through the insults with grace, however... and for that the native was proud.
I see.” Aren responded to the cold, glaring sun goddess with as much exuberance as he always had – never one to be shaken by the girl's antics. “In the future I might do that.” Depending, entirely on how this evening went. While he normally was blind to his leader's cruel treatment of Alphas – mostly because they often brought it upon themselves – her needlessly picking at Raine wouldn't sit well with him, when she was an innocent party. Just why Cissa had chosen to take insult to the fact that he'd taken an Alpha, he wasn't sure. She was the one who kept redrawing the lines between them, else he might have asked her to attend with him.
While Raine would likely not see it through the insults, the Omega leader was... softer with her condescending remarks than usual. A part of him wondered if she was doing that as a favor to him. Taking a solid look up and down the woman, he knew it wasn't the right time to ask. She'd only openly deny it.
But, she seemed to give half-hearted compliments – from telling his date that she couldn't expect the levels of perfection that she achieved, to stating that Raine did very well.. He took a deep breath. No doubt, his sparkplug would lose her temper soon enough, and he wouldn't be able to fault her for that. She gave, as good as she got... didn't back down. For that, he was proud, even if he was sure it was going to give him a headache later on in the night.
Aren remained closed mouthed when Felix attempted to goad him into drinking. Alcohol was a friend to only a few Blackfoot – and he wasn't willing to test his luck and ruin Raine's evening. Instead, the man merely grinned, chocolate eyes full of mirth that he didn't express in any other way – his team mate's patronizing tone would do little to sway the man in his opinions on getting trashed.
Another night.” The native agreed to Felix's invitation for a raincheck, not wanting to back down completely. But he offered in his stead, to allow the ladies of the evening to partake in consuming some of the punch. “I'm always full of good ideas.” Aren remarked, wiggling an eyebrow upwards with the truth of the statement.
The words between the two women were toxic, and the size shifter, while he didn't show it... was readying himself to stand between them; there was absolutely no reason for either to angry with one another – yet. And he'd rather keep it that way.
Had he been drinking, he likely would have spewed the contents in a slippery spray into the air when Raine insinuated that Narcissa was fat. Holding his breath, Aren did his best to sober his expression, unable to think of an acceptable way to end this passive-aggressive war with dignity on both sides. Anything after that, was beyond repair. Eyeing Felix as if to tell him they needed to separate the two before World War III broke out, he searched for answers to their dilemma.
Both ladies in attendance put the others to shame, for two very different styles.” Aren said appreciatively, taking an equal amount of time to scrutinize the pair of women. He'd not feed the fire on either side if it could be helped. His gaze found no flaws with either of them, and the dimples on either side of his grin only helped prove that.
Raine leaned into him, and Aren couldn't help but think the gesture was for show; with as much as Cissa was pawing on Felix, he could reasonably guess as to why. Both women... had been bitten by a very green monster. Cissa, because one of her Omegas had chosen to befriend someone from the Black and Blue team; Raine, because she wouldn't approve of her friend flirting with what she likely took to be the devil.
Aren grinned though, when his date took another large drink from her cup, shaking slightly with his laughter. “I'm glad.” He responded with an equal amount of truth. "I wouldn't want either of you to think I'm the Academy lech."
Narcissa too had downed her drink, and only pressed the tension further, referring to how many times she'd had sat in Aren's lap, and planting a feathery kiss on his cheek. Her eyes flashed a warning, and while he didn't know the exact wording of hers – his chocolate eyes bore the same thing. He'd not beg her to behave; he was too far above doing that. Too stubborn to step down. But he didn't like where this was going either.
True, I have...” While Cissa wouldn't see it, his thumb made a small circle in the small of Raine's back, as though to silently tell her to let it go. He'd chosen to be with her for the night... But his leader wanted to play.
My heart is content not to indulge.” Aren stated, having his own reasons to deny it. But as she held out the drink for him to take, chocolate melted into her oceanic orbs. Slowly, he raised it to his lips, his expression telling her if he played this game, she'd need to lay off of the war. “But you're always so persuasive ki'somma.” He murmured, just once into his cup.
She couldn't have this both ways. If she were going to get angry over his taking Raine on a date, she couldn't dance around him as she had been. Keep him for herself, and have nothing to do with him, as though he were a toy to be placed on a shelf, because Narcissa had never learned how to share. To continue as they had, would go directly against what she herself believed: Omegas weren't toys. And he refused to act like one. “It's not babysitting, so much as filming it on our phones and posting it on YouTube.” He said, never giving away how frustrated he was beginning to get. Every word sounded exactly the same – as though he were taking it in stride. Laughing, at the awful predicament they were all in.
Grabbing another drink for both he and his date, he knew that an apology would never be enough to fix the night for her. “Would you like some more?” In order to survive Cissa's anger... she was likely going to need it.
Jacen tilted his head to one side, lips pursed to one side in confused contemplation. “You weren’t harsh at all.” He said, before shrugging the issue off. At Marcel’s talk of suits Jacen’s ears perked up again, turning to face the alpha. “Thank You! Geez, these things are terrible. I think Narcissa did a good job getting good costumes and whatnot but still. It took me twice as long to get to the roof with these cuff-button-things.” He nodded while fiddling with the aforementioned ‘costume,’ spinning a cufflink between his fingers.
And he’d already been over his hatred for ties.
“Hydrokinesis?” Jacen gave a ‘hm’ of being impressed. The powers ending in ‘kinesis’ were normally the powerful ones from his experience at the Academy. The question into his powers made him chuckle. “Powers of an Octopus. More precisely a…” He paused to make sure he had the pronunciation right in his head, “ceph-a-lopod.” He looked back a Marcel with a lopsided grin, “Comes with the whole package far as I can tell; underwater breathing, limited camouflage, suction cup wall-crawling…” He really should just get a business card made up, listing them all out always made him feel pretentious. “But yea, it suits me.”
“I’m sure you’d be fine here. We mutants look out for each other,” an irony-cut towards Narcissa and Raine’s debacle would be appropriate here, “so I wouldn’t worry about fitting in.”
“As for me… I’m not sure.” Originally he’d planned on going to Muir Island Island just to get his powers under control. Then he’d moved to the Academy to finish his schooling. The end goal had always been to go back home, but he couldn’t really imagine going back after everything he’d gone through. “I might just stay on at the Academy as a full-time Omega, since it seems like getting an outside job is not going to happen, what with this registration stuff.” He’d figure it out eventually.
“I’m bored.” He stated simply after a few seconds of silence. He stopped walking, and turned to face Marcel. “First thing you want to do now. Go. Top of your head.”
“And don’t say search for secret passages. I already checked for those.”
The playboy held his date in his arms as she went on to explain that unless he was trying to test the limits of Gahndi and those similar to him, that she didn't understand. She also didn't understand that he was also joking...just a little bit. If they were to chill more it would be easy to find that out from Dimitri. "Thanks Daylia for recreating that scene in my head. I figured once was enough for me." Dimitri said with laugh and a shook of his head. That event alone made Dimitri more careful in picking mates. If worst came to worst one minute he would be playing xbox after scoring some poonanny; next day he'd wake up with his pecker gone, wondering what the hell happened that night before squealing like a woman.
A slight look of disgust was seen on his face when she continued, revealing that the husband not only got it reattached but ended up scoring a job in the porno industry. Exactly...how does one come with the balls and swagger to end up in the sex game after your sausage was cut? "You saw some of his footage one late night?" he teased before she ended with her main point; piss off the wrong woman, and you'll wake up with a missing package.
"That's why you lock the doors after you kick them the hell out."
"I'll try my best to keep that in mind..but if worst comes to worst i may have to hire a bodyguard."
Dimitri didn't want his date to get torched in the future from Narcissa and his idea seemed to have been on the bad side. "Haha I never said the plan was foolproof!" Dimitri told his date. "I figured you would build from my idea and have a better idea to not get burned."
The Playboy had a bigger smile on his face when Daylia called him out on her being able to be killed after the prom was over, not before. Also he had saw her grin, implying that she was getting more loose around him. "Why of course, and i see the dealer at the casino's for my gambling addiction problems." he replied with a smile. He also had one on his face when he heard Daylia laugh about his proposal. It was good to see that she was enjoying herself more from his point of view, be it from making fun of Dimitri or enjoying being around him. One example was about his comment about her appearance, which had caught him off guard, giving out a short laugh before replying with a grin. “Were you planning on being more than Arm Candy?” He hoped that she would come up with something funny to say, or anything but reply in a negative way. With their joking back and forth though it was unlikely.
“You know I think the car we drove here was free…” he responded as he placed his thumb to his chin in a comical appearance, looking upward with a puzzled look. So if she didn’t want to smash in an expensive car, a rental car they got for free was a safe bet? Another laugh came from his date which made him feel better inside; this time about DDR and how she wasn’t getting anything from Dimitri’s skills. “If you want I could blurt out the direction of the arrows to help you. Left, right, down, Spin. he blurted in a robotic tone”
And speaking of spinning that was what happened to the unlucky guy that came in contact with Roland’s fist. On paper one would think that Dimitri, the playboy would end up making a big scene. Instead it was his friend Roland, who was taking care of a human who thought that he was going to get more than what he expected. His sympathetic system kicked in, wondering if this was going to put the prom on hold, or in disaster as in burned to the ground, wiped from existence. But it turned out that Roland had gotten a verbal warning instead; Lucky b*****d. “The guy who just got clocked? Yeah I agree but that could have been handled differently.”
And it did get handled in a different way; well not the chick-check Roland offered but the dancing performance him and his date pulled off. A change of pace occurred in the beats of the music and from there the dance floor most likely had eyes on Roland and his date. “Not bad Roland..Not bad at all.” After their passionate dance was over, Dimitri went to see if they were going to continue performing or let the dance floor have a break from their feet. “If you want to take a break from dancing just let me know.”
(sry bout wait. pratically wasn't home past couple days and post=blah)
Well hey there...
Leo's reaction to Aurelie's appearance didn't go unnoticed by anyone within ten feet, it seemed. He couldn't help it, really. When he had seen her golden blond hair and sparkling blue eyes, here had been a sudden jolt of electricity in his arms that caught him off guard. He had managed to recover though, even if he looked like a total klutz doing so. She explained exactly why she was here and asked how his evening was going. So she had been brought here against her will. What really mattered though was that she was here. "Going great," Leo nodded in response to her question. In actuality, nothing of significance had happened that night to decide his mood about the entire event... other than Aurelie showing up, of course.
He couldn't help it that he was smitten with her. He had a thing for telekinetics, some would say. Their 'first date' hadn't gone over so well, but that didn't deter him to try again. Although, if the person Aurelie had been waiting on was important to her... if may be harder to get her on a second date than he originally thought. No malls next time, that was for sure.
Now he felt bad for Tara - he had come with her, but the animal mimic was more likely to talk with Aurelie. That was when she waltzed over, wrapping her arm around his, offering him the napkin. He gave her a 'yeah, thanks' look before taking the napkin, crumpling it slightly, and tucking it into the shoulder strap of her dress. "You may need that later," Leo smirked. "You know, at dinner." It was his little way of reminding her that he was still her ride. Then again, Tara could probably hitch a ride with whomever she wanted after the dance.
Lillian walked up, and that was really the first time Leo had noticed her. She made the quip that she was responsible for bringing Aurelie to prom and making her look 'breathtaking' (which is exactly what happened) and for that he was thankful. Then she made a comment about the Halloween incident... which had been some time ago. He still remembered it like it was yesterday; the unbearable pain, the loss of two of his limbs. It was horrible... but thankfully Lillian had been there. She reattached his leg and helped speed the process of his regenerating hand... saving his life, and if not that, at least a month and a half of hospital time. He would never forget that. He had tried to say thanks to her beforehand, in full after the mission… but he barely saw her after the whole fiasco. All he could do was a small ‘thanks’ nearly two months ago.
“So she made you come, huh?” Leo asked Aurelie. “And here I thought you were here for me,” he chuckled. Looking to Lillian, he said, “And I still have to properly thank you for that,” Leo pointed at her with the same hand that was holding his cup of punch. “Just tell me how and I’ll do it.” A sort of ‘I owe you one’ in his words.
It was hard to believe that he was already making memories with the Alphas, despite only being with them for about two and a half months now. The Halloween incident… the mall… it was like he was part of a team again… not a team, but a family. A family that cared and looked out for him, which was the least he could say for his former employers.
Enough dwelling on the past – time to look towards the future. Leaning towards Tara, he asked over the music, “Alright, your move. What do we do now? Would you like to dance, or guard the punch from being spiked the whole night?” The last statement was said in a joking tone… but Leo would be just fine doing the later. In actuality, the mere idea of dancing horrified him. He’d never done it before... after all, this was his first real school dance ever. How exactly was he supposed to dance? Why hadn’t he studied it beforehand… watch some YouTube videos or something? The animal mimic knew that he would have to do it sooner or later though, so he thought that he might as well just do it and get it done and over with.
Daylia raised a single brow as Dimitri asked if she had watched the porno. Ever so sweetly she looked up at him, a smile playing on her lips. "But of course, with a name like Frankenpenis how could I resist?" She said so matter-of-factly that it was up in the art as to whether she had or not. The truth was she had never watched the actual movie, no that was not something she was into. Yes she did know the name of it, but that was only because she had read so much about the case and what had flowed the incident. Though again truth be told, she did google what it had looked like after words, and the results were not good. "Yes, a body guard, because that will stop all the crazies from coming after you."
Daylia laughed at the plan. So she was supposed to build off of it, well there wasn’t much to build off of.
"I think I would rather just take my chances going to the meetings. At least if she is only aiming to injure one person, she might take into consideration the others that could get hurt." At least that is how she would hope it would play out. After all she had no reason to get on the blond leaders bad side, nor the desire.
"More than arm candy? Is that you’re way of trying to get into my pants?" Daylia asked, a small grin on her face. "If so, it’s going to take a bit more than that. And no, not just arm candy, as a friend as well." She shrugged. She had no intention of sleeping with anyone tonight, Dimitri included, but then again, things do often happen. Daylia couldn’t help but roll her eyes. "Oh yes, because free would make me feel like less of a whore." She smiled again. "And again, you would have to do better than that doll."
Daylia paused to think about the offered for a moment, picturing Dimitri showing out the direction to DDR. It made her smile as she shook her head.
"I think that would confuse me even more, not to mention embarrass me. People would think I’m stupid, or blind." She chuckled slightly at the thought of a blind person trying to play the game. Of course it didn’t make any sense what so ever, but it was still an amusing thought. "I think I would much rather just sit back and watch."
Daylia’s eyes went back to the others for a moment.
"Yeah that too, but also having Narcissa talk to Roland about the issue." She said with a shrug. "Men, always solving problems with their fists." She said with a soft sigh. This was why the mutant community is was the way it was. People couldn’t stop fighting long enough to come to some middle ground, though then again maybe middle ground wasn’t the best idea. She shook her head, politics were one thing Daylia never wanted to be a part of.
Daylia looked back up to Dimitri as he offered for them to leave the dance floor.
"I would love to get something to drink, feeling slightly parched." She said as she broke away from him with the change in music. "And hey, look at that, I didn’t injure you." She added with a grin as she began her way to the snack and refreshment table, which was already gathering quite a few people.
