Crystal kept back a growl. "This depends on Sebastian's life." she said coolly. "I'm going to try and suck out the venom. You have to stop me if it gets to far. I may not be able to control myself with the blood." she said. She leaned in. "For a split second, let it go. We can fight later if you really want." She couldn't help but let her lip curl, showing a fang. She quickly leaned back.

Valerie just nodded and sat. "Well please by all means. But if you do lose control, I will break you in his defense." She said with fake innocence, then went to sit on Sebastian's other side. She placed a bundle of thick mint leaves by Sebastian. "You might want them. Venom hurts going in, but it's paradise compared to coming out."

Sebastian shook his head. "I don't need them." he pushed the leaves away. Crystal held under his wrist and brought it to her face. She looked at Sebastian, and he nodded showing he was ready. Crystal took a breath, and placed her fangs in the same spot. Sebastian winced. He could feel the venom quickly drain from his body. Crystal tightened her grip on him. Sebastian let out a breath. "It's gone," he said to Crystal. Crystal continued draining him. "Crystal!" he yelled. His body was going pale. Finally she released him. She scattered away from him. Sebastian fell back to the ground. His eyes were still open, but hung low. Crystal shook her head quickly. She wiped the blood from her mouth and cradled her knees.

Valerie picked up and canteen. "You need to drink." She said, sounding almost like a mother as she pressed the rim against Sebastian's lips. "Crystal if you go find everyone else. It will be light soon, and then we will have to get going after I place a pausing curse on Selia's inking curse." Valerie looked her in the eyes and saw the reaction she had. "Or you can help Sebastian and I'll go find them." She said quietly, and she stood. "Just make sure he drinks water and eats some. Then wrap his wrist if the bleeding doesn't stop in five minutes or so." Valerie turned with a small reassuring smile and ran into the forest.
Selia was perched in a tree not far from the forest edge. The tattoo now covered the scarred side of her face, spinning and blooming with incredible speed and grace. When she saw Valerie coming towards the woods, she dropped down to the ground, landing on her hands then making a full cartwheel to her feet. Valerie came to forest edge and waved. Selia smiled causiously and waved back, coming to the edge to meet her. "I couldn't find Boothe and Valik. Would you like to help me?"

Sebastian grimaced. "I know what to do." he mumbled angrily, but Valerie was already gone. Crystal barely scooted closer to Sebastian. She avoided eye contact with him as best as she could, and pushed the rag towards him if he needed it. After a few moments of silence, Crystal stood, handed him the canteen, and walked towards her city. Sebastian's shoulders dropped. "Just like that, huh?" he began. Crystal stopped and only turned her head to her shoulder. "You're going to leave." Crystal kept her poise. "Now," she took a silent breath, "you know how it feels." she began walking away. Sebastian's jaw clenched. "Well no one's stopping you!" he threw his arms in the air and spit as he spoke. His eyes narrowed from the anger building up inside of him. "Just go!" he threw the canteen towards her, barely missing and landing a few feet behind Ryan. Sebastian curled up in a ball and began sobbing once Crystal was out of sight.
Boothe and Valik sat by a river stream. Both of them dipped their bare feet in. They sat in silence, listening to the music of the birds. Valik breathed in as he cupped his hands and dipped them into the water. He splashed his face and rubbed off the dirt. He repeated, though now rubbing the oils and blood from his hair. Boothe followed and they both rinsed down the skin that was showing. "Alright, we should head back." Boothe stood and picked up his worn down leather boots. Reluctantly, Valik stood and began walking with his brother. "Well, it was nice while it lasted." he shook his head to make his jet black hair flick off some water.

Valerie nodded, and began to climb into the forest, only to stop when she heard Sebastian. "I think we should find food too...." She said, letting her eyes drop to the forest floor to avoid Selia's expression. Once inside, she put her hand on Selia's shoulder for a split second, taking her hand back before the vine spread. "Let's go." Valerie whispered, then began to run. She almost ran past Valik and Boothe, skidding to a halt as she saw them. Selia was right behind her, skidding closer to the boys then she had.
Selia heard Sebastian and bit her bottom lip, almost breaking skin. She waited a second or two before following Valerie, then almost crashed into Valik when they came across them. She put her unmarked palm against his chest to stop, barely touching him. Selia looked up and smiled. "Hey, we found you." She hid the pain well, but her eyes were off.
Ryan woke as the canteen landed, and saw Crystal. Then heard Sebastian. He decided to just stay still and breath evenly, forcing the image of sleep to give Sebastian time.

Sebastian pushed himself up, breathing hard. He picked up the bread and threw it into the fire. For a moment, he dropped again and sobbed more. Then he pushed himself back up and stood. He rubbed hard at his eyes and walked over to the horses. Valik let out a breathy laugh. "You found me." he smiled, his face now clean, eyes shining. Boothe raised an eyebrow at the two. "Alright, let's get back. Who knows what Sebastian is up to." he began walking again. Valik followed with bare feet, letting the cold mud go between his toes.

Valerie raised an eyebrow as Boothe did. "This is true. He seems to be very unpredictable." She said, walking beside Boothe. Seeing his leg, Valerie looked up at him. "I have herbs that will numb the pain if it still bothering you. Healing it seems to be a tad beyond my reach though. And the medicine already applied seems to be doing the job quite well." She said, marveling at the medicine Sebastian had applied much earlier.
Selia nodded to Boothe and walked by Valik, seeing his bare feet. "You're going to get sick." She remarked, laughing under her breath.
Ryan stood up as Sebastian went to the horses, stretching quietly. "Where';s everyone else?" He asked, trying to seem like he had just woken up.

Sebastian almost jumped at the sound of Ryan's voice. He sniffled and wiped at his face. He cleared his throat before he spoke. "In the forest I think." he replied just loud enough for him to hear. Sebastian tightened the saddle on his horse.
Valik raised an eyebrow. "Do you not know what I am?" he asked sarcastically. "My body heat is over two hundred degrees. I can withstand any cold now." he smiled, learning to appreciate his abilities. Boothe shook his head. "Sebastian is doing an excellent job. Later I'll have to get him to put in more of that medicine. It works wonders." he smiled. "How long have you been healing?" he asked.

Selia smirked. "Well knowing that, who needs fire anymore? We could just cuddle up to you at night." She said, still laughing. A random idea came to her about the ink curse. "Hmmm I wonder.." Selia ran her fingers through her hair and sighed with relief as the black didn't spread to her hair.
Valerie smiled. "All my life, or at least what I can remember. Some of my remedies didn't do exactly what they were supposed to." She laughed lightly. "But my mother, who was a healer as well, taught me some when I was a child. But most is experiments on myself to see if they were safe."
Ryan nodded. "Going anywhere?"

Sebastian cleared his throat. "No," he replied shakily, "Just don't want my medicine to break if it falls." he placed his hands on top of the saddle, ready to jump on and make a run for it. But for some reason his body didn't allow him to move.
Boothe nodded. "Sounds like Sebastian," he observed. "His mother was famous in the village for her healing. She kept amazing records and taught them to Sebastian. When she died, he was placed with a great burden of being the new healer." he nodded at his own words. "It placed a lot of stress on him. Though, he was much capable of it. So, you were practically self taught?" he asked. They were close to the camp site. Valik chuckled. "Eh, I don't think I want my brother that close to me." he joked. Boothe turned and winked playfully at him. Valik laughed. He looked at Selia. "What are you thinking about?" he asked.

Ryan walked over to Sebastian and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Just making sure." He said, oblivious to the shakiness in Sebastian's voice.
Valerie smiled. "Yes, I am. And that must have been hard on Sebastian. But from what you have said, he must have had an excellent teacher." She said, enjoying the conversation. Usually people avoided her for her so called crimes and crafts against the royals. But now she was having a mature, calm talk with someone who might have been twice her age, and it wasn't with someone on drugs to cure illnesses or pain. Warmth filled Valerie as she thought about what she was able to do, and how she was able to help those in need.
Selia glanced up at Valik. "Oh.." She blushed, and then looked ahead. "I was just wondering if it would spread to anything I touch. Even something not living. But it doesn't. And I was thinking about warmth. It's freezing out here." Selia laughed lightly again as she climbed over twisting roots and vines along the trees, the path growing narrower as they went on.

Sebastian nodded. "Yeah." he breathed. For the finishing touch, he played it off by taking out another canteen and taking a small sip from it. He tightened the lid and placed it back in the pocket. When he came to the fire again, he picked up the canteen and rubbed off the dirt, then sat it upright on the ground. He rubbed at his weary green eyes. "I need a bath." he laughed.
Boothe nodded with a smile. "His mother was a fascinating teacher." he commented in agreement. He looked at her, realizing something. "You know, this is the first genuine conversation I've had since the attack of my village." he smiled. "It's nice." he added with a warm smile. Valik raised his eyebrows. "I hadn't noticed the cold." he said. "When we get back we can cuddle some more if ya want." he winked playfully with a charming smirk.

Selia smirked and stepped in front of Valik, the path growing narrower again. "Is that a promise?" She asked, looking over her shoulder and smiling playfully as she turned to walk backwards. She held her unmarked palm up to Valik. "This is all you'd be able to touch. Everything else is marked." Selia said, offering the challenge.
Valerie smiled warmly. "Mine as well. Only years. Ever since what happened in the city, most avoid conversing. They think I'm a curse placer. It's funny." She laughed, now walking behind Boothe. Looking back, she saw Selia and Valik and smiled sadly. "I need to place a pausing spell on that ink soon." She whispered, pity and empathy heavy in her voice.
Ryan nodded and ran his hands down his face. "We all do. And a source of water in general. Maybe when everyone gets back, we can go out and look for one as we travel. As nice as it is here, I really don't think we could stay much longer." He remarked, looking at the woods with impatience. He didn't like being away from Valerie. It felt empty with out her.

Sebastian nodded as he walked back to the horse. "Geez, where are they?" he asked the air as he looked into the forest. "Let's go look for them." he suggested to Ryan. "We need to get moving." He took out Boothe's medicine and tossed it towards the fire. It rolled next to the canteen.
Valik raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really?" he said seductively. "I'm tough. I'm sure I'll be fine." he added with a wink. The trail was slowly getting more narrow, signaling they had about thirty minutes left of a walk. Boothe nodded solemnly. "The city is a strange place," he said. "Weird mysteries there. Something I'll never really understand." he looked up at Selia. She stuck out like a sore thumb from the ink. Valik seemed to pay no mind to the difference of her.
