Sometimes we were allowed to stay home, it all depended on if mom could be expected to get into work and how well we were behaving.

Yeah my sister is very much not a 'make up and hair' types...heck its kinda weird seeing her get dressed up and have make up when she does.
Oh but speaking about travel times. For my University I go to, I take a trolley and a bus, which takes a little over an hour one way. However if I was to drive there (permitting that Traffic was good...which it isn't always in the morning), it might take longer just to find a parking spot or I'd have to park really far away and walk onto campus.

Lol the drive used to be 20 minutes ish and the bus ride was 40-50 depending on which bus you caught.
