What if there's a reason there aren't any Pure Flying types, save for the special, albeit temporary circumstances, as well as Sky Plate Arceus?
Look at the move Roost. When used by anything that's Part Flying, it takes away the Flying type for one turn.
So If a pure Flying type used that move, and the type is taken away, what then? It'd be typeless and wouldn't be weak or resistant to anything.
This is why Arceus in incapable of learning it, save for hacking.

Also I thought of a 2 stage pokemon. First it is essentally be just a big gold ring with wings, then it'd like evolve into a smaller angelesque creature with 2 rings for wings. Both would be Normal/Ghost type.

It's a failsafe so if someone hacks a Pure Flying type and Roosts, the came won't crash and break. The same failsafe can be seen in the fact that Arceus has a sprite for the ??? type even he can never be it legitimately.

So T for your gym leader I decided your best pokemon would be a Panarme(it's essentially a panda version of Snorlax) with a move called Drop Hammer(it's a Normal type STAB move that the heavier the defending pokemon is the more likely they get confused and it's 120 for power and 5 for PP).

K, just got a tweet from Serebii about a Jirachi event replacing the Winner's Path one or something?
The server for it just went down so I have to wait for info.
Anyone else know anything about it? I badly need a Jirachi.
