Lin grinned as she helped Miyuki with her breakfast. Mainly making sure she didn't feed any of it to Senka. The two may love to annoy each other, but they really loved each other.

"Some day.... your Uncle had to wait a long time before traveling..."

Though that had mainly been her fault.

"That was his choice," Aranxia replied, sticking her tongue out again. "Because he promised you when he was little that he wouldn't go without you! He didn't have to wait!"

"I had to wait until I was older than you, anyways," Earendil quipped. "You know your nako would never have let me travel before I was an adult, and you have many years to go before then. So what you need to do is eat your breakfast and be still. Someday your turn will come."

Aranxia pouted again. "But what if Neko won't let me go, just like he didn't let Mama go?"

Lin didn't bother to mention that her mother was the high princess.

"Your mother did see the whole of the Southland," Lin pointed out.

True, not the same thing, but it was the only thing that Tinuveil could do as a heir to the throne.

"But I want to see more than that!" Aranxia protested. "I want to see the world!"

"Come now, Aranxia," Earendil laughed. "No one can see the whole world. At least, not and talk about it, or see people again. There has to be a limit somewhere."

It seemed that there was something Earendil knew, though Lin didn't know it she had heard snippets about it. She knew elves would sail and not come back but she didn't know why except they were tired and wanted rest.

"One thing at a time Aranxia, first you need to grow older, learn more, and train more," Lin told her, "Earendil had to wait for me because I had to prove to my family that was strong and knowledgeable enough to hold my own."

Well that and there was that pesky thing called age, but with age came knowledge so it was almost the same thing.

"That's different," Aranxia murmured sadly. her shoulders slumped, making it clear that she was giving in. "That was his choice."

Still, she wanted to see as much as she could, and if the only way she could complete her journey was to sail off to the Undying Lands, then so be it.

"But was it mine to make him wait so long?" Lin asked her.

Really there were times where she just wanted to go, and go, but knowing she knew so little kept her from doing so.

"I know it seems a long time off, but the world will still be there when it's your turn."

"Sure, but if I just get old ..."

She trailed off. Sure, the world would still be there, but if she had to do what her grandfather expected of her ... she still would never get a chance to travel. She didn't like that her life was ordered for her, not one bit. She wanted to be a free spirit, to do her own thing, even though she was usually shy and reserved.

"Take it one step at a time," Lin told her, "Learn what you can first, and when you are old enough then ask your parents."

Notably Lin said her parents not her grandfather. While Lin... somewhat, sort of... liked Ruel without completely and utterly disliking him, didn't believe that he should have a say in Aranxia's life. While Aranxia was his granddaughter, Aranxia was her parents' daughter.

Aranxia's lips curls in a pout, but she just started eating her food, and didn't say anything more.

Earendil smiled. "Don't take it so hard, Aranxia. Who knows? Perhaps by the next time we go on a trip, you'll be old enough to come."

That brought a smile to Aranxia's lips. She would like that.

Lin smiled at that, "That would be fun."

She meant it to, she would find great fun to have more people along. Always, even though it was nice to be alone with Miyuki and Earendil too.

It wasn't long before they were finished with their breakfast, and Earendil ushered Lin and Miyuki off to get their bags and head out to the stables.

There, there was a cart waiting for them, piled with bags and lined with cushions, as well as several horses that were ready to ride.

"Up you go," Earendil smiled, hoisting Miyuki up onto the cart. "You can sit up from with your mother, or in the back, or lay down, however you like."

He wished there were some shade for her, but the carriage wasn't good for long trips, so it had to be the cart. Though he supposed she could always drape a blanket over her or something.

Miyuki just had to explore the cart first before sitting down. It was just different and new to her.

"Pick a place to sit," Lin told her, "You can't be standing when it starts moving."

She got ready to climb in.

"Come on, Miyuki, you better sit down," Earendil chuckled as he mounted his own horse. "You'll fall otherwise."

Shea climbed onto the front seat of the cart and picked up the reins. He would be driving the cart on the trip. "He's right, Miyuki," he told her. "You really don't want to go flying, you'll get hurt."

Settling herself down, Lin held her arms out to Miyuki, "Come here you. Let's sit and watch everything as they go pass alright?"

Miyuki couldn't argue with that as she pattered over to her mother and sat down.

"We're going now?"
