((Dav vas ko duje!! Two days, is it? And already, I've been given a whole two chapters to read. I can't even bear to imagine what I'll have to read after two weeks... Joli. And I suppose another suspension post would be good.... alright, here it comes.))
With the girl's training out of the way for that day, he was again set into the usual routine of doing nothing, so he set out to explore the rest of the castle from what he already knew. Whilst walking, he heard many a-rumor floating by on whispers. Love between sir Tamuril and the Lady? A Draconic? Both very interesting, but the first one was waved off easily enough. He had no explanation for himself thinking that way, but why should he try to explain it to himself?
As for the Draconic, or Dragon being the more popular term, that was a different story. He had once before seen and spoken with a Dragon. They were noble creatures (there was penalty to be dealt for anyone that referred to them as beasts), wise, powerful, and just. Humans just seemed to mess everything up for the rest of nature. Humans had put so many others into or near extinction because of their own uncontrolled fears. The unreasonable wives with their nightmares and their husbands complying simply to comfort them.
There were few nobles in the Old Tales. Most were just men tired of listening to those with ill-informed minds scream in fright and complain of nightmares with these horrific beings. Cedric had not spotted a Centaur since the month before Hosvanji's death. Fairies were rarely heard giggling in the woods nowadays. Dragons were almost extinct.
I'll look into it later, he told himself and returned to his room after his mental map was completed. At least, he knew every room that was necessary. And again, he conducted silent business behind his closed door.

He raised his free arm to block the kick, and was about the thrust his sword at his opponent. When he stopped the fight and left, He just staye there a bit shocked. It was extremely unexpected. He then looked around at the audience, and they looked surprise as well. He stood up, walked to a nearby gaurd and gave the gaurd the wooden sword. He then walked to his weapons and picked them. He strapped them on and went to leave the training grounds.

Karasi was surprised, she had not expected the fight to be so interesting. Once it was over, she made her way over to her companion. It was apparent to her that he had not seen her, though she had been in the back row of the crowd, so that was not hard. "Khuni," she called out lightly as she neared him. There were many questions she wished to ask, not the least of them if he would mind practicing with her, and teaching her what he knew.

His head shot towards the sound of the voice, and saw Karasi. "Oh, hello there. I have a feeling that you saw the fight." He said to her. He started to rub the side he received the kick. It was starting to bug him. He had one hard kick. He thought to himself. His shoulder ached a bit as well, but he could just shrug it off. But the side he knew would bug him. I wish I could find the ingredients to make the healing salve.

Karasi glanced at teh hip that Khuni was massaging "Sore, isn't it?" Though this did not sound like a question, more of a stament. She had heard a solid thump when Sir Tamuril's foot had connected with his side. "I have some healing herbs in my room, if you want." She carried them with her in her small pack, something she had been told to do by her villages elders. One could not practice any form of fighting, without knowing how to heal ones self, they had told her.

"Yes." He answered. He thought about the kind of herbs she might have. "I wish I had a griffen's claw." He said off handedly. He could be fine by night's fall if he had one. But they're gone now, along with the ancient ways of healing. He thought. He just did a mental shrug, and waited for her to show the way to he room.

Karasi nodded and turned towards her room. "A griffen's claw? I have heard of those. Our village elder's used to speak of such creatures, and the amount of magic that they held within themselves." Walking lightly through the halls, she made sure to match her own pace with his. Mean while, her mind was going over what herbs she had brought along with her. Rose hips and rose petels, she knew that, also thistle down and St. John's Wort.

"Yes, their claws and feathers used to be used as very potent healing salves. But they went extinct more the a hundred years ago because of the wars." He said. "It was saddening when I first heard that one of the last females died when soldiers invaded the last breeding grounds for them." He shook his head. "My people were so angered, they went and slaughtered several legions of the enemy." He said, remembering thsetimes. He had killed around 20, no, 30 people in a single day. And he still went on for a week, till he was too tired and hungry to fight on.

Karasi nodded. "I've heard of those times, my grandfather would often talk of them, to keep them from being repeated with other creatures. He was always very sad, or angered, when he spoke of it." Karasi shook her head slowly. "I guess, when people do not know something fully, they become afraid of it. That leads to the death taht we see all around us." 'And to the murder of innocents,' Karasi thought.

"Well, it was a strategic action by the enemy. Since we used the griffens instead of horses, so they thought to get ready of our rides. But they didn't expect such a strong reaction from us." He sighed. "They were one of the sacred animals of my people." His eyes took a sadden look. "Too bad those creatures are now extinct, and I'm the only one left to pass on our teachings and ways." He said sadly.

Karasi nodded in understanding. While she was far from the last of her people, she did know the feeling of loss. "My grandfather spoke of a people that rode the griffins once. I was young, but I still remember. He said that they were a great people when he had been there.
She spoke quietly, her memories of her grandfather bringing back many emotions. Glancing up, she noticed that they were almost to her room. "Here we are. Come in, I need to mix the herbs." Opening the door, she stood aside, waiting for him to enter.

He walked in and looked around. "Yes, then if you know my about my people from your grandfather. Then you should now know why I am familiar with wings." He said. his back itched a bit. "Nice room, I haven't been in one this fancy for a long time." He said off handedly. He looked at all the fancy stuff he used to take for granted. Now these were things he would never have again, at least not alive. Maybe when he joined his comrades and family.

Karasi shook her head sadly as she closed her door. "No, he would not speak much of it. Only that the griffins were once your mounts. He was a very sad old man, had seen much in his day. I'm just glad he did not have to see more. It would have broken his heart..." This last was said very quietly, almost a whisper. Clearing her throat, she turned around and walked over to her pack. "Yes, it is indeed. More fancy then I am used to. But then, I grew up in the mountains, and was not much in the home anyway." Picking up her skirt, she knelt down lightly, moving the top layer of clothes aside before coming upon her bags of herbs.

"We had rooms somewhat like these, but they were much higher up. So had much towards a view. And they were made from coral, not this dead stone that was carved out of the earth." He said, stroking his hand and the stone walls. "We had so much back then. We had knowledge, power, magic, and many other things. Which are now lost, since I carry little of the total knowledge we had."

Karasi could almost picture the place he talked of, there was so much emotion behind the words. "It sounds beautiful," she said. "I wish I could have seen it." Finding the herbs she needed, the elvian stood up and walked over to the counter where she had already placed her mixing bowl. Placing the bags beside it, she turned to face Khuni. "I'll have to have a look at that bruise, so I know how much to mix up," she said, wiping her hands on a towel from the basin.
