Edited now. HQ: Company Captain x1 - Stormbolter/lightning claws/Artificer armour Command Squad x5 - Champion, Banner, Apothecary, 2 combi weapons and a plasma pistol Elites: Terminator Squad x5 - All storm bolters + fists, sarge with power weapon Dreadnaught - Standard issue Troops: Tactical squad x10 - Plasmagun, Multi-melta Tactical x10 - Plasmagun, Plasma Cannon Fast attack: Assault x5 - sarge powerweapon and 1 flamer Heavy Support: Devatator x5 - sarge with powerfist + plasma pistol, 1 heavy bolter, 1 missile, 2 Lascannons Vindicator x1 - Storm bolter + dozer Dedicated transport: Rhino x2 - Both with storm bolters, or easily swap one with a hunter killer. total points: 1553 one rhino may have a Counts-as whirlwind conversion back and count as a whirwind. Any issues with this list? I am so close to 1500 it hurts, but I don't know what to shave off, other than one tactical squad can be exchanged with a squad who has all free weapon upgrades. Suggestions? again?

bjs.09-00 Any issues with this list? I am so close to 1500 it hurts, but I don't know what to shave off, other than one tactical squad can be exchanged with a squad who has all free weapon upgrades. Suggestions? again? Well, this list makes a very good balanced army, anti tank and anti infantry, however, the rhinos might be a way to bring down the point cost. I rarely use my rhino anymore, sure its a cheap way to move troops around, but I just see it as cover that I can move. I mean, with an 11 front and side armor, it really isnt that great. (Which is one fault of this game I think, the APCs have shitty armor) If you dont go first turn chances are the rhinos are going to be some of the first things to go, and perhaps a couple of marines with it. Also, you cant assault out of them, so if you dis embark and shoot within rapid fire range, you get assaulted next turn, and your opponent gets the charge. Love the vindicator, take out a whole 5 man of terminators in a single shot biggrin Another place I see points that could be shaved is your devastator squad, the power fist and plasma pistol that you give to your sergeant is kind of a waste, when will he ever use them, the point of the devastator squad is to shoot from a distance. Other than those things, pretty round list, tell me how it works out ;D

Yea, just get rid of Power Fist and Plasma, and I think your about 30 points down, although I dont have the codex with me.

mainly the Fist and plasma pistol are..insurance. Against assault. now that I think about it, ima bloomin idget. lol and I was hoping I could kekeke rush any objectives with my rhinos and tacticals. If nothing else, i jsut won't use them untill I really have to. Get rid of a combi weapon, thats what I'd do any ways. Are you going to split your tactical squads into combat squads?

I have spare marines just for that, if need be. until i get some gaming experience, I planned to try out the full squads, to see how effective I coud be with them, and if not, I'd use combat squads, replacing the unusable heavy weapons as need be. And which combi weapon? or both? I have 2 in my command squad, one pasma one melta. and if i do, what should they be replaced with?

Dont really feel like typing the entire thing out so ill put the slightly more important stuff in OK so the most recent army i played with was an appocalypse 10k pt battle took about 32 hours total to play, helps that me and one of the friends have basically memorized the 5th ed rules. 2v2 10k pts apeice by the way.
HQ- 265 Marneus Calgar, Armor of Antilochus was the only upgrade i put on him. Retinue- 620 Full Honour Guard Squad, ripped my friends hq to shreds with marneus and the retinue. Had the chapter banner and all models had Relic Blades.
HQ-885
Troops- 4 Tactical Squads, All 10 man squads each had a different weapon. 2 had lascannons and another had a plasma and the other had a missle launcher.
Troop- 715 total
Elite- Base of my army right here. 8-Full Assault Term Squads. 3 with storm shield and thunder hammer. 3200pts 4-Full Normal Term Squads 1 equipped with heavy flamers 2 with assault cannons and 1 with cyclones. flamer squad had all chainfists instead of powerfists. 1840 pts
And the kicker was: Apocalypse Formation: Thunderhawks 3- All with the cannon upgrade 960pts apiece.
I fielded two Land Raider's too =D i might have messed up on points cause i have the units i used but not the points so i had to do it from my book and a calculater so i dont have completely accurate we each went over the others list before we started.
If you cant tell the way i played i dropped three of the assault squads in with my thunderhawks killed 3 full gaunt squads in the first charge (a crap ton? they got owned by the fact the couldnt do anything.) Brought my tactical squads close enough had a teleport homer on one and dropped all my term squads in with that. Backed the thunderhawks off and owned with my 7" Blast. I ended up slaughtering the other guys Pharias with them. Blah blah blah my ally was imp guard so we had the earthshakers in the back with my land raiders "sniping". My melee happy sadly slaughtered the tyranids with ease, good rolling ftw.

i will say it took a long time but the "enemies" didnt stand a chance because they kept trying to change their strategy but they didnt have units in the right place to do it. The earthshakers saved my life so many times.

Im confused as to why you would need melta bombs in a 500 point game, unless you are playing teams in which case someone might sacrifice good troops for tanks and whatnot. I guess seeing as how you are over by 12, it is one thing that probably wouldnt hurt to cut

I've just recently been trying out a list for 750 pts games, and it's been working out pretty well so far, 2 wins against beakies, draw against fish'ead (luck by my side) and win against other orks.
The list for now consists of this:
HQ Ork Warboss, Soopa' shot ammo (Kombi-Rokkit), power klaw, bosspole, 'eavy armour, cybork body 110 pts
Troops 3 Nobz, warbikes, stikkbombz Nob 1: powerklaw, bosspole Nob 2: kombi-skorcha Nob 3: Big choppa 178 pts
20 Ork boyz, shootas, 2 big shootas, nob, bosspole, big choppa 160 pts
11 Ork boyz, nob, bosspole, powerklaw Transport: Trukk, wrecking ball, armour plates 155 pts
10 Gretchin, 1 runtherd 40 pts
Fast Attack Deffkopta, twinlinked rokkit 45 pts
Deffkopta, buzzsaw 60 pts
Total points: 748
The idea behind the list is pretty simple, to have alot of fun, but try to win at the same time of course. winkingOrk.gif
Since the tournament probably will have the usual scenarios in the 40k rulebook I wanted a force that can have a chance in all scenarios, in killpoints I'll just try to krump everything I see, for objective taking I wanted some fast elements (bikernobz and trukk) who can fight the enemy and blitz to the front and grab objectives if needed, or call for distraction while the shoota mob advances and trying to take ignored objectives with my grots, or put them with the objective in the scenario where you put the objective inside your deployment zone.
I first thought of getting a Mek for the force (and I'm still concidering replacing the warboss with one) who will be combat oriented, and perhaps a deffdread or some killa kans along with lobbas as support, but I can always spend the points on more boyz!
Thoughts about the list? Suggestions of ways to spend the rest of the 250 points? Critics? Spill the beans boyz (and galz)!
