"Sadly, yes."
The mention of Tolkien brought a bigger smile to Emma's face. "Oh, Tolkien was another one of my favorites. So creative."

"Yeah I liked the Lord of the Rings movies, but the only book I've read from him so far was The Children of Húrin,"The Paladin responded, he smiled back."He really was clever, I think I might read Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit some day."

"I have copies of everything he's written somewhere around her...except the Silmarillion at the moment, Hrothbert's got that up in the bedroom."

"Oh I see, well I'm already sucked into this book," He said his eyes fixated on the contents of the book."So, Emma what do you think of the 21st century?"

"It is like any other: things that could make a woman cry for joy or for grief abound. There is good, there is evil, but the air is heavier than it has been."

"Hah that's true, but I was born into the whole 'smog, pollution' thing," He mused, and turned a page."Infact the only time I ever breathed unpolluted air in my life was in the Darkling world."

"Well yeah, about everyone who was born in the time of the industrial revolution and later; has spent all their lives breathing in polluted air," He replied, and shrugged."Ya get used to it, trust me."

"I don't think I ever shall..."
She sighed, missing the days when the air was clear and the earth was green.
It was all iron and plastic now; not her world.

"Oh I see, well things'll get better...I think," He chimed hopefully.
Farskon wondered what that nostalgic look on her face was, most likely Emma missing something over a hundred years old. Or possibly something else.

"I live in hope."
Hope that maybe, one day, she could live in peace. Hope that the attacks would stop, hope that she could settle down.

Emma remained silent, returning to her own book. "Do you have any idea when your pursuer may attack? Or if he is stupid enough to try and take control of either resident of this place?"

"No, he's doesn't work like that," He replied, and shook his head."He got less rational, and more insane, but he's still not that stupid.
Farskon pondered it out, and worded."He's the kind of person that will scheme out events, that put you into a check mate; and then he'll make a true appearance. The paladin looked around nervously, and added. "Although I did notice something unusual earlier."
