"My soul...they...hnn. I... Liam. Thank you."

Julian tried to calm himself, tried to ignore the frantic beating of his heart as he breathed deeply. Feeling dizzy, he let go of Crow's arm and let himself fall back to the floor, eyes half-closed and unfocused.

"Is Rabid okay?" he asked as Crow fussed over him, trying to tend to him. Crow looked over at Rabid in pure embarrassment, blushing a dark red and flailing her hands around in apology.

"Um...why don't you ask her? She's right here, not dead because I stabbed her or anything," she said quickly, wringing her hands in anxiety.

Julian's lips quirked into a faint smile.

"Rabid.... missed you."

"Yeah. Any time," Liam smiled slightly, "and sorry about the heart attack. It kind of...comes with the switch. Just hope you don't start speaking in Cockney."

Rabid's sobbing stopped abruptly as Julian spoke and she peered up over her knees, eyes wide. Her lip twitched into a weak grin, and she paused for a few moments.

"Missed you too."

Sure, she was greatly underspeaking of her insane obsession and guilt, but he didn't need to know...yet.

Biting her lip to fight back a grin, Crow looked up at Liam.

"Anything I should know on how to make sure he's okay?" she asked, feeling like she was asking on how to take care of a goldfish.

Julian smiled a little wider and closed his eyes, sighing.

"Well. When I'm not covered in blood and kinda...not clothed, I'm sure I'll be better company," he murmured, laughing a little.

Liam gave Julian a strange look before shaking most thoughts from his head and turnining to Crow.

"Uhm...yeah," he fiddled around in his insanely useful pockets and pull out a small bottle of pills, "Pain killers. They make sure he doesn't reject anything we've given him, too. One a day."

He handed the bottle to Crow and continued speaking, "Don't let him rest too much, although I know you'll want to. It'll just prolong the healing process, mmkay?"

Rabid snerked, but quickly covered her mouth.

"I'm sure you will be. Get better, alright?" She waved to them both, feeling suddenly gleeful.

Liam placed a hand on either of the siblings' shoulders and poofed them over to their room. He smiled, proud of himself.

"See you, kids," he said and poofed away.

Crow...you may not want to let him look in a mirror until he's a bit more stable...

Morning stroll

Humming softly to herself, Chin meandered through the grounds, not really caring where she went. It was just such a pretty morning, even for winter. The sky a perfect blue, the grass covered by a sparkling sheen of snow. The only problems were Sabriel wanting to go inside and that it was absolutely freezing out.

Ignoring the baby's grumbles from where he sat on her shoulders, she tucked the scarf in a little tighter against her neck, pausing where she stood. "You know, it'd be warmer if I carried you." she told him.

His only reply was to huddle closer, tails twitching against her back. Cold wasn't fun. Winter wasn't pretty. He just wanted to go in and be warm.

William peered up at the large building down the road. Here and there, it smelled of the Little Guv, but not enough to suspect much. He growled under his breath and trudged foward, nearly smacking into a girl and her disgusting fuzzy sprog.

The girl smelled faintly of Little-Guv's-Friend.

"Sorry," he smiled sweetly and whipped out all the charm he could muster, "I should have been more careful."

Chin stumbled back in time to avoid sprawling into the snow, hands flying up to stop Sabriel from falling off. She nearly did fall over, however, when she looked up and saw who it was. Oh my god.

"T-that's fine." she stammered out. It was about all she could say - handsome, HANDSOME stranger, and he apologized all charming like, and ohmygod...

Breathing in, she quickly added, "I should've been watching where I was going, you know?" Never mind she'd been standing still. It didn't matter.

"No, no...it's my fault. Really," Liam smiled, quite proud that his British charm seemed to be working, not like on that neon-haired chick, "Actually...now that we've bumped into each other...pardon the pun...do you think I could have a minute of your time?"

Chin blinked, then smiled a little nervously and nodded. "Sure. We were just going out for a walk...yeah, in the middle of winter...but no, go ahead!" She wrung her hands together, hoping she didn't sound too stupid. Maybe he was visiting the HQ?

Sabriel felt fascinated, not threatened, by what he could feel underneath the charm - what Chin was utterly blind to. He twitched his tails with interest, watching William steadily from his perch.

William quickly pulled a photograph from his pocket, the same he's shown the other girl.

"Do you know either of these people? Have you seen them around?" he was trying to be sincere as possible and not sound quite as desperate as he actually was, "It's an old picture. A decade or so old, even. I haven't seen either of them in quite some time."

Unfortunately, neither person in the picture looked familiar. Chin had never met Liam, so even that obvious match didn't show itself. "M'sorry." she said apologetically to William. "I don't think I have...are you related? Unless...they could be guardians, like in the HQ or something." She gestured to the building. "I haven't met everyone there yet. It's possible."

Sabriel huffed slightly, disgusted with her. But it'd be a good thing if this person came in. Things would be much more interesting.

"Yes," William smiled, "You could almost say we were the same person." He placed the photograph back in his jacket pocket before grabbing the girl's hand and kissing it. God, she even tasted like Little-Guv's-Friend.

"Thank you. I think I'll look into it," he smiled, "I hope to see you again." Without another word, he trudged around a corner of the building and became shapeless, a living shadow.

When he blew the HQ up, he'd be sure that that girl was on the first floor. It made for a quicker death.

Quite aware she was blushing, Chin watched him go, a bit unsteady on her feet. A deep breath of the chilling air revived her. She waited until sure nobody would comment on how flushed she looked once they got back inside the HQ. It was the cold. Definitely the cold.

She'd stay in their room until he was gone - there were lots of presents and stuff to be wrapped, after all. No way was she going to chance a meeting like that again and make an even bigger fool of herself.

"Let's go back in, okay?"
