"I won't." Breathed Emris softly as he squeezed Terrie's hands in return, "I..." He smiled softly and kissed her forehead, "I can handle anything you want to tell me, Terrie. Just trust me, okay?" His arms were just about the wrap around her for a comforting hug before the chaos arrived.
A dark shape darted out of the woods and over the bridge and slide right up to the door of Emris's home. After knocking twice the door was thrown open and the dark foxtaur ran through the hallway with loud thumps before opening the library doors with a shout. "Emris!"
Quickly pulling back from Terrie the orange foxtaur just blinked at the all too familiar foxtaur who had barged in. "Xennek?" He groaned and looked at Terrie, "Talking about natural disasters..." He mumbled before looking back to his cousin. "What's the problem?"
"I...umm..." Xennek glanced at Terrie and smiled, "I dina mean to interrupt anythin', but I have a problem..." There was another slam as another foxtaur entered the kitchen and stormed towards the library. "And 'ere it comes."
"Da! It's obvious that you're here!" The yell broke free of Yuna's lips as she too entered the library. But Xennek was already hiding in between some shelves and the teen blinked in confusion at seeing Terrie. "Umm...did I come at a bad time?" She asked softly looking at Emris sheepishly.

"I trust you." She said softly. "Okay. Here goes." She took a deep breath, but instead of words a yelp came out as a stranger barged loudly inside. She looked between Emris and Xennek with wide eyes, her resolved dribbling away. "Who-?" She shook her head as the large male hid, and a pretty teenager ran in. "Um..." She just stared. What now?! "Emris?"

Sighing Emris pointed over towards Xennek's hiding spot and Yuna nodded. "Family..." He looked sheepishly at the green foxtaur as noise of a scuffle exploded behind him along with some softly muttered words.
"Ouch!" Xennek emerged with Yuna pulling at his ear, "Don' be so cruel!" He groaned and rubbed at his ear when his daughter backed away and smiled at Terrie.
Bowing to Terrie, Yuna introduced herself. "It's so nice to meet you! I'm Yuna! And that idiot over there is my da, Xennek." She giggled and raised up and hugged Terrie allowing herself the chance to whisper quietly, "Are...you really close to Emris?"
Xennek grabbed Emris's shoulder curiously looking at Terrie, "Whose the lass?" He asked quietly with a grin, "She's none I've meet."
Emris blushed wildly and just shook his head at Xennek, "She's...she's..." He just trailed off and turned the tables on his cousin. "What have you done this time though?" He asked with a glare.
"Nothin....much at t'all." Xennek tried his best to look innocent while watching his daughter. "I swear..." Emris just snorted and shook his head at his cousin.

Family?? She tried to remember if Emris had mentioned them before. Was that his cousin he'd traveled with before? Gasping slightly at the unexpected hug, she hesitated before returning the hug. "I hope so." She whispered back. The news would have to wait probably.... Then she pulled back, looking shyly between the newcomers. "I'm... Terrie. Its... nice to meet Emris' family finally."

Emris sighed and sent an apologetic glance towards Terrie. Now that they were here, no telling what chaos would take place. His eyes did gaze affectionately though at Yuna and Terrie as he saw them hug and a small smile flicked into place as he watched Xennek.
"Nice ta meet ya, Terrie." Xennek smiled and approached to shake her hand. "I'm surprised tha' a lovely lass could put up with my cousin 'ere." He joked with a warm laugh. "Me on the other...."
Yuna smacked her father lightly on the head and glared, "Behave yourself." Sighing she looked apologetically at Emris, "I really don't want to be interrupting anything...but might we stay for a bit?" She asked softly and nudged Xennek, "We can stay out of the way if anything really is going on...but someone..." She glared at her father, "Made our house a bit impossible to stay in for today."
"Yeah, yeah." Muttered Xennek before casting his own apologetic gaze at Emris, "I'll get ta huntin' now." Is all he said before heading to the door.
Emris nodded at Xennek, "Go ahead...just don't get lost or anything?" He grinned as the foxtaur shot him a look before disappearing down the hallway. Then he looked to Yuna and raised an eyebrow, "Should...should I ask?"
"No...no you shouldn't." Replied Yuna with a soft chuckle before smiling at Terrie. "I just can't get over this!" She exclaimed approaching again, "So what's it been like living here, Terrie?" She paused sheepishly, "I mean...then again you could just be visiting for the day? Hopefully not though...I mean..." She trailed of silently blushing with embarrassment for jumping ahead.

Terrie blinked slightly, trying to figure out if Xennek was being serious. "I wouldn't consider it 'putting up' with Emris." She said, smiling softly. She stiffened slightly at the questions from Yuna, before shaking her head. "I'm enjoying myself very much. Emris is a wonderful housemate. I just came here in the summer and Emris was kind enough to offer to help me build a house. But winter and... other things, delayed us, so he's letting me stay here over the winter." She tilted her head. When was the last time they had actually talked about the house? She suddenly blushed fiercely. Would she even need the house anymore? It all depended on what Emris wanted.

Emris ran a hand through his hair while trying to look casual about the whole situation. "That's about it...yes." He repeated quietly with a small smile which was hard to contain with Yuna's bright gaze flashing upon both of them.
Yuna giggled at hearing housemate from Terrie but smiled brightly, "I'm glad then!" She nearly bounced from excitement as she grabbed at Terrie's hands, "Oh!" She giggled, "I really am truly excited to meet you, Terrie. I've never really gotten to know another female foxtaur before." She beamed clearly over joyed with the idea of a new female companion whom she could talk to.
Emris though felt stiff as Terrie mentioned the house...it seemed as if time would be slipping beyond him before he could even make a move about how to ask Terrie...about things. And he wouldn't go back on his promise to help her find a home...that was for sure. Though if she changed her mind that'd be okay. Until then though he'd have to make decisions no matter how he felt unless, as he had thought countless times before, Terrie actually would want to stay.
Now feeling a bit shy, Yuna blushed and looked between the two foxtaurs. "Umm...we really didn't interrupt anything did we, Terrie?" She asked softly knowing that her uncle wouldn't really give her a direct answer.

Terrie started relaxing with Yuna's cheerful personality. "Yes, it'll be nice to have a lady to talk to." She said, being sure to say 'lady' instead of 'girl.' She really didn't know many others around yet. "Interrupt anything?" Her eyes flashed over to Emris and down to her hands, the blush spreading from her cheeks, giving her entire face a light pink tint. "Not... really?" Hand coming up to twirl her hair, she looked back at Emris again shyly. "Well, would you like something to drink Yuna? Maybe a bite to eat?"

Avoiding any direct glance over at Yuna, Emris nodded. "Good idea, Terrie!" He chuckled nervously, "How about you and Yuna get things fixed or just get to know each other while I go and see what Xennek is up too?" He headed towards the doorway and paused before disappearing completely down the hallway, "I'll go get some more firewood as well while I'm out." And with that he was gone.
"Not really, eh?" Giggled Yuna as she watched Emris disappear in a flash. She looked over at Terrie and smiled warmly, "But getting something to drink and a snack sounds nice though...." The teen paused before starting for the doorway and stood there for a second before adding, "Let's go, Terrie?"

Terrie nodded slightly to Emris. He seemed overly enthusiastic about the idea of food. He was gone quickly, so she turned and gave yuna a wane smile, walking up and taking her arm companionably. "Allright. Lets see what we can find for you." She smiled, patting the youth's hand and leading her to the kitchen.

Grasping Terrie's arm with a friendly smile, Yuna giggled. "Okay." She walked into the kitchen with Terrie but still didn't let go of the other foxtaur and looked about. "I'm surprised there's not papers every where. I guess Emris has been too busy to go into a frenzy of document shuffling. " She joked with a warm smile.
Piling up pieces of wood and kindling onto a small wooden sled, Emris didn't jump when a shadow over crossed his. Instead he just sighed and leaned against the tree next to him.
"What are ya goin' ta do?" Xennek asked as he sharped his knife to finish scraping the skin off of a dead hare, "I can see tha' there's somethin' about with her an' you." While he didn't look up at his cousin the words from the warrior were quite serious.
Emris chuckled softly, "Well...I don't really know yet, Xen." He admitted sheepishly, "I wish...that I had the guts to ask her to stay though."
"Figures..." Xennek shook his head and continued scrapping at the hare. But he did secretly grin though before adding, "I trust ya to get those guts in time, though."

Terrie smiled and nodded. "The winters been pretty bad, so we've been getting stock, extra insulation, making sure we've got what we need." She smirked lightly, realizing that instead of 'he' for Emris, she had started saying 'we,' as if they were together already. Here came another blush. Happy for a new voice and distraction, she kept hold of Yuna's hand as her free one searched the food shelves. "There's a bit of everything here looks like. Take your pick." With a small frown, she tilted her head. "So, might I ask why you're here? Emris asked, but you said he didn't want to know." She smirked playfully. "I'd like to know, if it's no trouble."

"Hmm..." Yuna smiled secretly though as she picked up on how Terrie casually referred to Emris and her as 'we'. Her tail wagged happily as the teen reached up and grabbed at a small jar of honey and then at a fresh loaf of bread. For her that would make a fine snack and maybe Emris some stored deserts somewhere like those small pies Willow would sometimes make and deliver...
"Oh..." Yuna laughed sheepishly and shook her head at Terrie, "Well ya see...my da and I sometimes get into small arguments and Emris is used to us barging in here, especially my da 'cause he even has a room in here that he stays in while he's trying to give me some space or is hunting...things like that." She paused sheepishly, "This time though...our cabin kinda got scorched by him. So it smells like smoke not to mention the whole we have a nice new doorway in the wall now."
She blushed faintly before trying to change the topic, "So...how close are you and Emris?" She asked glancing at Terrie, "Have you thought of being his..." She trailed off and giggled sheepishly, "I guess I shouldn't be asking that though."

Terrie dropped her jaw, torn between gasping in suprise and laughing. "Oh you poor thing. And in the middle of these cold days too. Well I wo- I'm sure Emris will let you stay." At the next question, Terrie looked in suprise at Yuna, then down to the ground. "You probably shouldn't, and I shouldn't really answer. We haven't really dicussed it much." She sighed softly. "I've- certainly thought about it." She admitted, turning to grab a knife to slice the bread with and keeping her eyes down.

Yuna blushed but glanced at Terrie with a serious expression on her face. "You know Terrie..." She started and suddenly looked torn between growing quiet or not. Then she sighed and shook her head with a small smile, "I haven't seen Emris get even a close friend before... except for with our family."
"I'm sorry about saying anything like that..." Yuna apologized while she opened the jar of honey, "But I'm just glad to see that him like this." She admitted softly.
Xennek tossed the remains of the hare behind him and looked up at his cousin, "Should we head back soon?" He asked wiping his hands clean with some snow. Emris nodded but after another look at the small pile of wood that had been neglected since they had started talking sighed. Xennek laughed though, "After we git this gathered then."
