Ahoy, I'm Jim, was on Gaia many moons ago, lost the account due to sloppy record-keeping on my part. I'm a Southerner, I write and am currently starting my own indie film studio with some friends, i work for the Evil Empire itself ( Wal~Mart), and I love being all eco-friendly. :p I tend to by organic/fair trade stuff, I recycle, heck, I try and spend as much time in the woods as possible...:

Hi everyone! I am WildBrain, 24 years old. i love the earth, and think it should keep on being awesome. so we need to do something. I intend to start growing a lot of my own food, as soon as i move to a house with a garden. i live in Norway, but I am from Sweden. I dont like the snow right now.. nothing is green.. crying but i make my gardening plans for the moment.
I have a little cute Ninja cat. She enjoys gardening, scratching the soil of my houseplants and eating grass.. xp
Love heart

We have snow here too - but a lot of it has melted from rain so there's a lot of brown-green ground. I can't wait until spring either. Ninja kitty does sound like a cutie. <3

Hey there,
I am Lily and I am 20. I am a student studying international economics and development (think developing countries). I live in Canada and am trying to become more self-sufficient because 1) I have to study the impact of our actions on the planet and everytime I look I cannot help but want to change 2) Money 3) I like DIY
Even if the world goes beyond the breaking point I want to learn how to live without what we have, just in case I survivie some kind of apocalypse scenario. (I am kind of crazy in that regard....don't mind me)
Oh and I live in an apartment so I need ideas for a small garden that can be kept indoors all year round. I may have an outdoor garden next year but for now I want an indoor just to get used to it.
So yeah: VOILA

Welcome! (yay Canada.) StregaMama posted a picture of a shoe thinger that was repurposed for plants. Depending on your outdoor space this might work really well. I also found two books - can't remember the names - but it had to do with square foot gardening and mini farming - both really excellent regarding growing food in small places. (I borrowed them from my library, so your library may have them too.) And I totally get you in the apocalypse thing. I have few survival books just in case. ninja

I would probably still use it indoors but that would defidently work. Thanks!
