Not a highly ambitious lion, he is quite the gossip. He loves his rank as secretary because it makes him privy to the goings-on of the upper class. If you want to know the rumors going around the pride, Zhenniao will give you the perfect run-down of he-said-she-said. He'd never be the first to invent a rumor, because where's the fun in that? He's quite happy living in the Tianxia, and with his standing in the pride, and would never spread things that would hurt the pride or its reputation. But if there's an affair? Fair game. It seems his work ethic improved since leaving his old pride. Zhennaio is approachable and friendly enough, as long as you've got something interesting to tell him.


As a young lion in his old pride, Uchafu (as he was known then), was quite the gossip and impudent young lad. He treated his elders and superiors with respect to their faces, but was notoriously disobedient and lazy. He had no desire for advancement and other lions his own age began to see him as a burden to the pride, and wanted to do something about it.

One evening, they lured him out to the most barren part of the pride's territory. There, in no uncertain language, they explained to him that because of his behavior he was "dragging down the pride" and as a just punishment, he would be killed. Though Uchafu was not one to work, he was clever and quick-witted. He bargained with his peers that if he could prove himself, he should be spared. The other lions were convinced, based on his past behavior, that he would fail and destroy himself in a way most interesting and amusing for them to watch- and they would be innocent of murder, it'd simply be a suicide.

Uchafu wagered that if he could kill and eat a venomous snake, he should be pardoned. The lions thought this would be quite the entertaining demise and agreed. They followed him on his hunt, until he found what he was looking for - a Black Mamba. Swiftly, Uchafu killed the black snake and devoured it. The other lions, too wary of the danger, never got too close to inspect the snake. Uchafu had instead killed and eaten a Cape Wolf Snake- comparatively harmless, and a constrictor.

The lions were in awe of his feat, and Uchafu made the bold claim that he took on the snake's venom and was granted its poison, instead of dying from ingesting the snake. After having just seen what they had, his peers were not going to challenge it. They all returned to the pride, and the young lions spoke to the elders about Uchafu's strength and poison.

The king of the pride requested an audience with Uchafu, and appointed him as an assassin of the pride, to dispatch all of his enemies within and outside of the pride with his venom, and Uchafu could not refuse. He accepted his first mission, to murder the leader of a small, nearby pride, and all of the lion's newly born heirs. He made it to the outskirts of the small pride, where he saw the cubs and their mother. Besides his lack of skills or poison, he could not justify their murder. He decided to change his name and never return to the pride of his birth.

(Loosely based off of the mythological Zhenniao, though he never really consumed a viper and became imbued with its venom, the rumors he perpetuates can be quite caustic, and that's how he really lives up to the myth

Takes more after his mother with a bit of a softer personality, but instead of nannying he was called to be a medic. He's very professional and no-nonsense during his work, but he likes visiting his mother and playing with the cubs she watches from time to time. He's closest to his sister Jahina, and while they joke that he'll be doing the rescuing some day for his soldier sister, he worries more than he lets anyone know, especially anytime the threat of the Nergui rears its head again.
