"The effects you describe far exceed most of what I believed possible of binding magic. To combine things on an immaterial level like that so well, simply amazing. Theory had said it might be possible, but no one had hit anything near it. After seeing that is is possible, I've written up so many equations on how it worked and how it went, but without actually examining the orb, I can't do much more. Might I be able to examine it, if you have a moment?" Derek eyes held a fervent gleam, as they tended to when he was discussing magical theory and potential. This was what he lived for, and if he was right, he was close to the largest breakthrough of his entire life.

"Sure thing. I have it here on me somewhere." He muttered to himself as he tried to find it in one of his pockets. After a moment he blinked and smacked his head with a laugh. "Ah. That lady you saw going up the stairs has it I believe. When she comes down I am sure she will let you look at it."

The woman walked downstairs, looking at her hands as if studying them. She had one of Aria's orange training suits that cut off at the shoulders witht the same blue trim as her dress and a pair of aethi's boots. She hadn't changed in size or body type since the combination of the two. She looked up and smiled.
*Erike had just transformed from his cat form, he blinked a bit* I miss'd a step didn't I?
There was slight confusion in the girl's eyes before recognization. "Erike!"
*Erike nodded* Aye Kid, Tha's me name...now do ye got one?
She looked a bit sad for a moment "Ari-Aeth-....No...Not like this I don't..."
*Erike seemed to have picked up on what was happening now, he remembered what Aria told him earlier.* ahhh...how bout Ayiana?
The girl tilted her head "Ayiana? How'd you come up with that?"
*Erike smiled* It was Phia's Middle name...
There was a moment before the girls eyes went from blank to sadness to happiness. "Ok...Ayiana I am!" She looked to the man and held up the orb. "You wanted this?" At his reply she lifted into the orb air with a thin green thread of magic and moved it to him, setting it into his palm. "There ya go!" She grinned, it seemed she had grasped a bit of her original self from both girls already.

Watching Ari, no Aethi, no...Ayiana--he smiled at the name--come down the stairs he tilted his head. She hardly seemed tired or dazed. Perhaps the merging hadnt taken so much of a toll on her as he had thought. Perhaps his having done it with three people instead of only two made that much of a difference. That didnt matter, though. "Ayiana. Do you need to go to New York to get a few hours rest or can you do well without?"

Derek's eyes widened. "You mean, it's actually here? Now?" Derek hadn't expected this. He'd though Draeken would have left it somewhere secure after using it or, at wors, would have just sent it back to wherever it was he lived. The thought that he'd be able to get his hands on the orb this soon hadn't even occured to him. All he had to do was find that other woman. That woman who seemed to be walking down the stairs right now. Derek quickly made his way over in that direction.
Before he could even get over there, however, the orb was being floated to him on a tendril of energy. As he saw it, it didn't appear to be anything particularly spectacular. Just a magical orb. It certainly didn't radiate the type of magic he'd expect from an artifact that could perform the sort of feats this one was reputed to. He was almost diappointed. This was probably based on something closer to their relation and inherant magic than the orb. Beginning to lose hope, he reached his hand out to grasp the orb.
And the world changed. Derek stared intently all around. He could see it. He could see the subtle bindings of the world. He could see their interaction, their pull, their knots, and most importantly, how to manipulate them. This was everything he'd hoped for and more. Cause and effect were easily perceived. Even that which he could perceive before, composition of materials and physical binding methods became more clear and more obvious in their application. He'd practiced for years to get to where he was, and the leap inherent in this orb took him even farther than his work could have. Turning his attention to Draeken, he saw the binding. He saw a knot of binding magic which held the individuals together within him. He saw the lines of the seal crisscrossing his body in an almost indecypherable maze. A quick glance at the woman showed her to be much the same. Finally, he turned his eyes to the orb. It, alone, remained unchanged in his sight. Lifting his eyes to Draeken, he asked "What do you see when you hold the orb?"

Draeken blinked at the question Derek asked him. "See when I hold it? Well...I see what I see. What am I supposed to be seeing?" He sounded utterly confused, but then his face lit up as if another of those memories in his head had clicked to life. "Oh! Oh I see what you're getting at. Yes. Any that have sufficient abilities in binding magics and energies can see the bindings of most anything while holding that. Truly amazing isnt it? I myself don see much of anything, but then again, I hadnt remembered I had such skills until just now. But that doesnt matter. I'm sure the thing will quite entertain your studies for a good while."

"It most certainly will! This is more than I expected. I'd expected simply some sort of amplifyer for existing binding energies. This'll do that, most certainly, but it can also do more. By allowing one to see those ties, they begin to be able to affect them. That on its own would make this tool invaluable. Then it grants greater access to manipulating the lower binding magics. I'm willing to bet it does more, but I can't tell yet. Might I be able to borrow this for a time to experiment with it?" Derek's eyes, while they held the same gleam as before, now reflected the ties he could see. Blue, thin lines could be seen crisscrossing his eyes.

"Maybe for an Hour...or two just to be safe...it will only be mineuts here however." She looked around the room to Erike. "Right?"
*Erike nodded and got up* We should go..then...be back in a few...
A portal opened and Ayiana stepped through, not long after Erike Joined her. It would be several moments before they'd return.

"Hmm...It does do all that doesnt it? I had forgotten. Wow. There were a lot of....Nevermind." He laughed at his nearness to rambling. "Go ahead and borrow it for as long as you like. I have no need of it at the moment. Once I am done with being merged and have used the unmerging orb that my ancestor created as well, I'll let you have a look at that too." He grinned, hoping that the man would become even more excited.
He turned to watch Ayiana leave. "Have a good rest. I will see you in a few moments, though a few hours by your time when you're there." He laughed a bit again then shook his head with a grin. Time was such a complex thing. He stopped that line of thought immidiately.

Xol shifted on the couch and proceeded to sit up with a somewhat muffled yawn. After a quick rub of the eyes he was staring intently at Draeken. "So... today is the day then, eh?"
He chuckled and stood up from his seat on the couch, taking a brief glance around the room before making his way to the kitchen.

Her energy was almost completely drained from the previous three days of healing. Morrigan's fusion really had wore her out. Kobei had smelled something along the lines of food coming from the direction of the Dojo, so she decided to stop by for a meal.
Her entire body ached with pain, and exhaustion, but she needed something to digest, to re-gain energy before sleeping.

Cole walks in the Dojo from outside. He looks good, well, better. He's starting to put on some muscle and regaining the body fat he had so drastically lost before. His new clothes look like they've been broken in a good deal and he's sporting a large duffel bag over his shoulder. One thing hasn't changed though, as he drops the bag next to a table and beelines for the kitchen.

It doesn't seem to matter to Cole, as he sticks his head out of the kitchen and gives her a thorough look over.
"Good, you look better. Different, but better. Want anything from the kitchen?"

Fading in and out of sight, in a pulsing fashion, the illusionary form of KB walked towards the Dojo. His distant disembodied voice rasped through the air, everywhere and no where as he sighed. Upon reaching the door, he simply stepped through it, moving into the main room of the BC in a ghost-like fashion. He clearly lacked substance, and was unable to physically manipulate anything."Bah..."
