Owwin, can you help me complete my Ian armor? :c I keep dying because I have to resort to swordplay, and my armor for that is still at the low level.
I need my gunner armor.
So for now, I've got some rando group to farm Barroth with.
The problem is, I keep dying due to my armor, and people keep leaving. I KNOW I don't suck. I know I'm doing well, it's just, every hit takes either half a bar off, or the whole thing. >.> Not the little attacks, but, jeeze. s**t I shouldn't be getting OHKO'd from at my level.

Owwin, you're a man of science. You can see two sides of the same coin, I am certain.
Submitted for your approval, a scientist who works for the Organization. To a group of youths out to save the day from this Organization, he has proven time and again to be quite the foe, with an assortment of machines, primed and ready to pound opposition into the dirt.
They strive for victory, and eventually come out on top, leaving the remains of the twisted machinations of this madman's designs in their wake, having saved yet another day, and another donut.
On the other side of the spectrum, the scientist; he pours weeks to months of hard work into each and every one of his creations. All of them working to achieve a goal for the business he works for.
But day in day out he sees them, or hears news of them trampled, mashed, dare I say it, obliterated by several rambunctious children sporting dangerous weapons and formidable magic.
They are his hard work, his... children, even. And to have them destroyed so... he dies a little inside each time...
But then he gets back up, and begins anew, sometimes salvaging the remnants of those that managed to get through at least partially unscathed.
He rebuilds again, for another day.

OWWIN! I STUNNED A BARROTH WITH EXHAUST SHOTS! 8D
I know I did it! Longsword was the closest, and Switch Axe and Greatsword were recovering from a charge still. I was shooting exhaust shots, and I hit him on the head a couple of times, and then he was seeing stars!

He built a weather-altering machine, that relied on Magic Power. He had a certain character (Rick) and his family captured so he could siphon thier MP for this purpose.
He's supplied the higher ranking members of the Organization with mechs, to aid in their disposal of the TSD Kids.
He has built a machine that instills anger in humans, but that was a minor thing. He had to resort to it when his army of Guard Guys/Gals had deserted... not to mention a giant brain-shaped machine that takes controls of mechanical things, but hilariously doesn't work on sentient robots.
Oh, and there's of course the X100 Elemental Cannon, the Organization's ace in the hole, with which they deign to take over with.

Well RPG series always act like Scientists and Engineers are the same thing.

Hm... good point.
Incidentally, I have his younger brother referred to as Professor, and he deals in robots. Weaponry as well, to an extent, but mostly robotics, all in the name of peace and whatnot.
Their surname is Graymatter.

If I was just told someone had been force-smoking me weed, and I was unaware of it, I would NOT BE SHOCKED AT ALL.
I just sat in the kitchen for about 2 minutes, trying to convince myself that a Pizza-Roll sandwich is a BAD IDEA.
But man, damn if I didn't almost lose that argument.
Needless to say, I nixed the Cheese, Bread, Tomato, and Lettuce, and am only eating Pizza Rolls, but still...
