"True," Earendil agreed. "Though admittedly, my work doesn't take nearly as much time as I seem to make it sound like. I just get ... distracted. And when I do go out to the city, I get to talking to one person or another, and by the time I remember to go visit my great grandparents, it's time to go back home."
He just tended to lose track of time.

Lin chuckled at that, it sounded like her if given half the chance, but she was always with other people. That tended to keep her on track.
"Do you need someone to keep you on track?" she asked him leaning over.

"Only if it's you," Earendil quipped with a grin, leaning over and stealing a kiss from her.
He couldn't help it, really, it was just so tempting.

Lin laughed, "If that's the case then should we maybe take a trip back into the city before the week is out?"
She wouldn't mind spending more time with Earendil before they left.

Earendil chuckled softly. "Sure," he murmured, smiling and straightening up again. "Anyone in particular other than my great-grandmother?"
Maybe they could pop in on Haldir and Halaleel and see what was going on with them.

Lin thought about it, "Anyone else you'd like to see?"
She had already seen many people, it was Earendil who needed to pop in on old friends.
"Maybe see Haldir?"

"It's tempting," Earendil agreed. "I'm curious to know what was going on with Halaleel - I mean, what the joke was, what he was laughing at - and it's been a very long time since I've seen either of them. There's a catch to that one, though ... if you were also present, Halaleel would run and Haldir would be close-lipped."
He smiled ruefully. "Sorry. That's a visit that will have to wait for a time when you're gone. I hope you don't take it personally."

"I don't," Lin told him, "You know I wouldn't. So maybe just your great-grandmother then?"
She would be happy with just that.

Earendil nodded. "And perhaps Aranhil," he added. "If you don't mind another visit with him, that is."
He was sure Lin wouldn't mind, but he didn't want to make any assumptions. That would just be rude.

Lin shook her head, only because she wanted to make it seem like everything was normal.
"I don't mind at all."
"We're going to see all the shiny things again?" Miyuki asked.

Earendil laughed heartily at that question.
"You really like shiny things, don't you?" he grinned. He chuckled to himself again. She was so innocent, so sweet.

Miyuki nodded, "I like shiny things, soft things, cuddly things and things that look pretty."
Which was a pretty broad list of likes considering pretty was in the eye of the beholder.

Earendil laughed again. That was Miyuki, all right.
"What's so funny?" Celeb's voice came from behind them. He had just wandered in the door. He'd eaten at lunch time, but he was looking around for Haldia. Having heard Earendil's voice, he had wondered if perhaps she might be grabbing some food as well.

"Miyuki was being cute," Lin explained with a smile.
"I was?" Miyuki blinked looking up at her mommy, she didn't understand what she did that caused her ada to laugh like that.
Lin giggled, "Yes, very cute."

Celeb chuckled softly. "Nothing unusual there. Anyways, do you know where Haldia is? I thought since you're finished with Ninako, she might be ..."
Earendil grinned, his eyes glinting brightly. "She's still with Ninako. They asked me to send you to them if I saw you."
"Oh." Celeb seemed quite pleased. "Good." He turned towards the door, then paused and looked back at them over his shoulder. "Uh ... could you ... tell me which way that is?"
It was his first time in Tor Karad, let alone in the palace.
