Water? Trees? Humans were quite silly, weren't they? And this was actually a half human thing. "There's water on the boat. It's in the barrels they keep sitting on and stuff." She didn't understand why he was so confused and bounced steadily beside him, not sure how to answer his questions at all. "They're just careful when they walk. Broken boots aren't fun." Eyes...did he think she wasn't affected by the light? Why did he think Xeke was hiding?
Glass Sea. They weren't kidding, were they? He watched the sharper areas and glanced at Savryn as she appeared to be using Chy for something or other. It was on the tip of his tongue to call out to her...what he didn't know but something. It was glass and she was blind. But she'd take that wrong and he wasn't looking forward to another tongue lashing anytime soon.

The mutual confusion could be amusing to an outsider but to him, it was all still confusion and concern. His thought processes weren't quite muffled by it all yet but stress levels were certainly going to keep climbing if he didn't figure things out soon. When she decided to shift, he supported her with his own hands and skin touched skin again through the ripped fabric of what was left of her clothes. So it wasn't just her hands, she was cold all over. Or maybe, in contrast, he was hot all over... It was plausible, he did feel slightly warmer than usual considering how he was still shirtless. "I slept fine last night. Maybe we should get some food, you haven't eaten in a while and your body needs energy to heal completely." A nod before his hand smoothed down her back a bit and he noticed another issue that needed to be tended to. "You should change out of these clothes too. Do you have looser things that won't irritate the wounds?"

His hands were starting to get like practical brands and she was surprised there were no hand marks left behind when he moved his hands...but he seemed alright. Didn't look alright though...it was confusing and as a strategist some things she just didn't like confusing her. "Food sounds good." Not that she had too much of an appetite at the moment but she knew the importance. Letting her eyes close lightly at the soothing yet oddly hot touch on her back. "No really...I think we're both about out of clothes." Which was truth...they were either all torn up or blood stained for the both of them. A turn of her head and a little sniff of the air. "We're in a port...we could always pick up some supplies of our own. I can make them fit." Meaning for their wings and tails and such. Frankly she didn't want to be up and moving about but figured she didn't have too much of a choice...especially if he wasn't as well as she suspected he wasn't. She didn't know how she had an inkling, but she did.
Nothing was made for dragons out here...that was weird. But she supposed it would be easy enough to modify clothing. She could either just look at what was done to Fire's and Ice's clothes and duplicate it...or just ask them to do it for her. At least one of them had to be savvy about tailoring right? Grabbing another child sized outfit and such she added it to her growing piles that were being carried by crew she brought with her.
Even being blind, she could guess at the intensity of the glare out there. Chylithair was having a fit about it though really plus the sheer heat was enough for her to pick up on both natural energy levels and just how even the temperature was trying to get to her...and being an elf it took extreme temperatures for her to be uncomfortable. A turn in her stance, looking to the port they were in and ears twitching. She didn't think she was going to like this...glass was so smooth and featureless.
White flags....sure he believed that. He'd bet his scales on some things and thus was one of them. Lycear had been waiting though already in natural form and out on the sands a fair distance from the city, two others flanked him as they waited there, watching the approaching vessels.

The ships came close, and out hopped the three in charge of the armada. Captains of the Leviathan, Dagger, and the Harpy, respectively. the captain of the Leviathan was as massive as his ship, looking like perhaps at one time he'd been a proud warrior or maybe even a gladitoral slave. the present captain of the dagger...looked like he was going to fall over into a pile of gibbering madness at any given time..but eyes betrayed a dangerously sharp mind, madness touched or not. the captainess of the harpy..her features were all angels, givng her a ruthless and rather bird of prey appearance.
They moved to be within a few feet of Lycear and his companions, and watched them for a moment. the captain of the leviathan was in the same position as lycear, and judging by his ship's posiiton and size probably the lead in this venture.
"Surrender what's left of the city, taking only what is already beyond it's walls, and there will be no need for bloodshed. Our weaponry, with the Riders in the skies, virtually negate all advantages of your natural forms. and without that advantage we outnumber you and have greater firepower."

It was the downfall of humans...as much as the learned codes said to protect them there was no doubt that they were an arrogrant race of creatures. He snuffed a hot breath down on the three, gold eyes watching them closely as tails twiched from all three in their own tension. "You come demanding with white flags...I'm not surprised." Tilting his head, "Do tell...what do you all need with a city that is all but dead?" He wasn't going to argue with the arrogant about advantages...if Lycear wanted to, the three would be dead before they even got off their ships.

Taking a moment to confer with his fellow captains, before turning his attention back to Lycear.
"A white flag doesn;t mean surrender, it means peaceful negotiation. As to the city itself...there's plenty of swag to be found inside. maps, information as well. the Riders have thier own wants. wether anyone agrees to it or not, I'm sure. The city is half dead to you. We have been given reason to believe the recent activity here is not only not natural, but directly aimed at someone in the city itself by another individual. Making one persons life miserable without catching any of the blame for it."
Yes, fang has sent his own deductions based on his previous encounters with Sae's ability to manipulate things with those shards.

"Did I say surrender? Do not try to take my words and twist them to your own advantage. That's hardly peaceful negotiation." Flexing his wings some with a look up at Riders...he hardly wanted this to turn to blood shed but he was aware that it may be the only choice. "And what makes you think there's anything of value left inside? I'm sure you've noticed I evacuated my city you've been watching for some time...how do you know what people took with them? And if the Riders are looking for eggs, they won't find them here." And he sure as hell wasn't going to let them take any dragons to break. Tiling his head again with another hot gust from his nostrils. "Personal grudges or not, balance in general is off...and you seek to push it further off."

"But what happens if they run out then?" He wouldn't live on a place like this, too many factors that can cause one demise. "True but they need to protect every part of themselves, I'm half dragon and I'm feeling the effects of this place, humans must have it worse." Eh still when all was said and done they be 'sailing' across the sea anyway, sooner or later they be across it without much difficulty, well they could be hopeful they don't find any problems at all.

Still oblivious to his own demise, Kaz merely did what he usually did... Prioritized. Whether it was his or her temperature that that was off, being in port meant temporary stability at least. Which was good because if Jae's injuries did worsen, they could probably help her quickly enough without having to worry about being attacked again or something. They could eat, find appropriate clothing again, then confer with Captain Gem regarding the course and the shards if needed. Decision made, he nodded and helped her to her feet. "The crew is probably busy buying supplies and loading them, they won't have time for our requests. We can find a place to eat off the ship and then get supplies too." Lifting her into his arms, he glided down to the main deck before setting her down, but kept her close in case she was unsteady. "If you don't feel well, let me know." He didn't much like wandering off when he was still semi-confused but again, priorities.

"Fair enough." Though she was going to keep an eye on him...it was kind of funny in a not so funny way...she was feeling horrid but would rather look out for him than herself. It wasn't often he felt off kilter to her and it was just worrisome. Letting him help her up she was quite surprised when he picked her up without warning and as if it was natural to him and let them down to the deck that was indeed buzzing with various activity. A nod to him though for the sake of keeping all worry levels down though she stayed tucked to his side as they headed off ship and into the more shady atoll. Seemed the place was constructed to try and block glare from that glass. At least on one side. "Let's keep it simple shall we? Few clothes, some food...and maybe a bath..." Though that was probably just a wish.
"Didn't expect to see you two about." Gem tilted her head at them, raising an eyebrow at Kaznec. "You look like you spend all night staring at the bottom of a bottle of rum." Looking both up and down a moment. "Both of you, put a hat on..." Blinking and looking to two sets of horns then. "Or cloak hoods or wraps or something. You're on my ship and I'm not taking chances even if you all do have scales. By the way I'll need to speak to you later about clothes." And on to more bartering. Yes she was serious about this hat thing...now where did her first mate go?

Had he been in a crummy mood, Thobias would probably have one hell of a headache right now from all the questions the dragonling was asking. He wanted to know everything. Thobias answered what he could, patiently, deferring the rest until he found more information or the boy was older. Some of his questions were really quite shocking. Keeping a hand on the boy's shoulder, he gave a nod to the dragons coming off the ship. "Kaznec, Jaebelltiah. Stay nearby. Gem doesn't want to be in port long."
Hey, wait a minute! Why was Kaznec carrying Jaebell and where were the two of them sneaking off to? When they did that back at home it was usually a statement of ownership, at least for the time being. He knew better than to announce that Jabell was his because that hadn't gone over so well last time. "Means no time to show him your nipples, Jaebelltiah! Don't wanna get left behind." No, he had no concept of the fact that she was hurt and sex wasn't on either dragon's mind. And no he had no qualms about hollering it out where anyone and everyone could hear either. No couth whatsoever. "You never run outta water. It's EVERYWHERE!" She had no idea what he was blabbering about and simply bounced, her rune flickering in a blinking motion at him. ...what? "They have...clothes and stuffs?"

The pirate leader smirked ever so lightly.
"Your city is of value. if there's no swag, then the stonework, the wood work, the cloth of curtains...everything has some use. in building and reinforcing our own homes or building and repairing ships. not everything is about what you can sell. You should know that much."
Though a placing of hands behind his back lightly.
"If you won't give up the city on your own, and you don't want us to take it, what will you offer?"

A look to Areesa with a raised eyebrow then he pointed his arm out to the sand. "So that's water? I'm talking about the supply they have, if they can't get it from underground then what happens when they run out? Living on places like these are dangerous." Though he blinked a little at the little ball before sighing a little. Grabbing his robes he gave a little tug on them. "These are my clothes, they help keep my skin from getting wet and stuff and cover my body from being seen. Living this close to the Glass Sea must be though because when the light is reflected it must hurt those who aren't covered. I just don't get how people can stand living here." A pause and he sighed before deciding to head back, they probably wont be here long anyway.

Gem's comment on his appearance probably warranted more thought than he actually gave it but he was more focused on Jae's needs at the moment. Besides, it didn't make much sense. He hadn't been drinking rum. "We're only going for essentials." A nod first to her and then to the first mate, he glanced up at the sky to note where the sun was to act as a reference of time. But the childish voice had him pausing in midstep, blinking first at the ground and then at Jae. "Why do you want to do that?" He might not be well-experienced to the ways of romance and relationships but even he knew what was appropriate and what wasn't. The showing of nipples just didn't seem right in present context.

She nodded to both Thobias and then Gem as they ran across them. Though the screaming voice got her attention. Well…he just made thing more uncomfortable didn’t he? That little dragon was very successful at that wasn’t he? And going about it so innocently as well. White scales under her eyes tried their hardest to turn almost completely red and if her body wasn’t being selfish about using blood only in wise ways, they probably would have succeeded. Kaznec just made it worse… “I…” This was just awkward and it wasn’t fun. “My clothes are awfully ripped and modesty isn’t completely achievable at all times without proper care being paid attention?” Yay logical explanation. “Or…well he was raised in a brothel…let’s just get food and clothes.” Kill her now. A little push to his person to get him walking once more.
That made him easy to find didn’t it? Walking back up the ship he gave a tug to the gold’s tail and pulled him over. “Come here you.” Taking out a dagger and slicing the fabric of the had she had gotten him, much like a fishing one, and replaced the dagger where it came from before slipping the boy’s horns through the new slits and settling the hat on his head. “There you are. Exposure is no good. Comfy?”
"There is nothing to be had. The stonework is crumbling after the earthquake shook the very foundations of the city. The wood is rotting from flood from the pool. It is the last surviving and it is steadily dying. Pray tell, what could you ask for from a dying place like this? Those who were here took everything with them. They knew they might not be coming back. They left nothing. And I am not about to let you harass them for petty tangibles that you can get anywhere else." A huff of breath again. “Since when does a noble pirate proclaim themselves scavengers?” He wanted to make deals, hm? “Why do you assume I have something to offer?”
