Helix gritted his teeth, and looked away. "What about my needs? Isn't a parent supposed to love and protect their children? So why then did they just leave us out in the middle of nowhere like garbage?!" His voice had become dangerous, and he glared at Alphonse with firey eyes. "That's why I hate them...that's why I never want to see them again...but that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop him from seeing them if he wants to...I just won't be there when he does." Helix slammed his hand down, and shot up to his feet. He walked off down the road, trying to vent.

Helix stopped walking as Alphonse spoke. He didn't turn, but he clenched his fists, and spoke.
"How...how am I supposed to do the right thing? Everything I do hurts him...even when I don't mean to..." Helix felt the tears well up. "How am I supposed to ask for help when I can't even help myself?"

"...Well..." Helix didn't seem sure of his statement. He felt a little ashamed that he'd already consitered picking Alphonse's pocket, which he hadn't done yet. He rubbed the scar on the bridge of his nose, and looked at Al out of the corner of his eye. "I dunno. It just seems like the only way to get something is to give. We almost never get anything for free."
