bd_tohru your all lucky to be able to play the picclo cause only the section leader or first chair can play it... im third chair so they told me i couldnt play it. cry Although it is definitely a privledge to play pic, anyone should be able to play it if they are good enough. We had four pics in our marching band. It should not be given only to the first chair person. See if you can't sway your band director. Or better yet, prove to him you are qualified.~ Good luck to you~ biggrin

Lancer_Band_Geek Flutes are awesome...they are fun to play, but when it comes ti the higher notes...that is when it is truly hard biggrin Got to have lots of wind...try exercising and get your wind capacity up

Flutes are awesome, but that high C is kinda difficult for me to play. I'll take you're suggestion too Lancer_Band_Geek

So this is for everyone. My bd suggested this site www.bandfolio.com I chequed it out and it has loads of things for free like method books and fundamentals for flute if anyone wants to check it out and such. Just beware the price of some things, most everything is free but just in case.

Play both.....you'll love it! biggrin im going to try but it might be a little hard to learn how to play but i hear that they arent that different to play I only play flute and pic and wish i had learned other instruments. I would love to play the violin and the sax...so i say GO FOR IT!!! Learn everything you can....i know you won't regret it.
