When Emolga turned his head and saw the two were not being chased as they had been before, he chirped at the light haired boy in front of him and slowed his pace. Ai turned to see it as well and sighed. Whether it was in relief or irritation, nobody but himself could truly be sure. This was becoming a regular thing. The way it was going, he'd never get himself a second Pokemon. Perhaps he should set a little goal for himself. Whatever Pokemon he came across next, he'd definitely initiate some sort of battle. It was time.

There was one thing that seemed to be constant in this place ....the battles, and their ability to run into them as this time they would come across another Swinub. Though this one wasn't looking for a fight, it was actually buried in the snow trying it's best to look like a rock. It's eyes watching them ...observing, checking, inspecting, this was not a reckless pokekmon as the scar that cut through it's fur from it's left shoulder blade to the center of it's back make it clear why.
It's eyes, still hidden in the curtain of hair ...was locked on them.
No, this pokemon wasn't looking for a fight, but he wasn't a stranger to battles either. If they challenged him, he wouldn't run away, and if they decided to fight him ...he would make them regret every bothering him.
It was rare that a pokemon in the wild was as prepared as this one was for battle, but it had happen before ....and if this Swinub was given a choice it would happen again. Though, whether there would be a fight or not, was still unknown as it waited for any signs of battle.
The pair of strangers to the island didn't even see the Swinub. They were far too focused on trying to keep themselves on the right path continuing forwards. The Trainer didn't want to get himself lost in the expanse of white and end up turning circles around himself. The Swinub had no reason to believe he was after a fight, or even see the boy as a threat of a fight. All the boy wanted, was to escape the cold.

Though it would seem almost as if he was bouncing on purpose from one pokemon to another. Vanillite would be the one to greet him this time ...as the pokemon bounces out of the snow ...a smile on her face as she twirls around and around and around. She wasn't attacking at that moment, but then again ...she wasn't exactly not coming towards him either ...as she spun around rapidly growing closer and closer with each rotation like a very fast top.

The boy had seen the Vanillite appear from the snow, but as it didn't seem to have any foul intention, he began to ignore it. It was only when it had made it very apparent it was heading towards them that Emolga tugged on his pant leg and pointed back to it that Ai held his hands out in front of him in a 'stop' signal and a worried look on his face. He didn't want to be hit by a dizzy (or attacking) Pokemon; whichever of the two this one might be.

Though this pokemon wasn't stopping ...not for anyone and not for anything ...as it came closer and closer. It was going to collide with a heavy results if he didn't do something soon, and almost as if the pokemon knew that ...it would start to spit out Icicle spears to hopefully get rid of whatever might be in it's path.
The shards began to fly, and Ai grit his teeth before turning his eyes to the Emolga. "Emolga! Thundershock it!" The yellow and black creature nodded its understanding before beginning to focus the electricity in its body. But, it didn't have a chance to release it before realizing it had a very large spear of ice coming for her. Ai had already moved out of the way of the spinning top by this point. By the time Emolga turned his head back, the shard impacted, and sent him rolling across the white powder.

The attack would hit lightly against the electric pokemon as the rest of it would embed itself into the rock behind their heads. The cut would be a think one, but it wasn't done yet ...as the attack attack continued onwards. The attack would once more sent out another spear of pure ice ...an attack that would continue all the same for at least 5 turns as the move aim to slice into his opponent once more.
The pokemon enjoying itself completely as another icicle spear would come from it's mouth.
An attack that continued until literally the pokemon was stop or at least miss it's opponent.
Ai watched from a safe distance as the Ice Type attack continued to barrage his own miniature fighter. "Get around it somehow!" he called forwards. Emolga chirped his understanding and started heading backwards towards the rock the ice shards had caught into. Using them as a quick way to launch upwards, he kicked off the last one as hard as he possibly could and glided down and away from the Spear thrower.

The shard of ice would miss as it connected with the wall of the rocks. The pokemon would stop it's spin as those eyes would lock on it's opponent, and surprisingly enough the miss attack. It was slight confused ..why didn't they attack when it ...shot out it's ice. Did this pokemon not know the rules of battle?
And then a really big grin would come on the pokemon's face as it floated there. He was bobbing in the air waiting for the incoming attack to move out of the way ...singing all the while.
[Not used to how those types of attacks work, sorry, figured it was still a defensive move turn on my part]
The Emolga landed, immediately sending out the attack it had stored up before-hand and sending it out towards the Vanillite. It wanted the creature taken down before it did any real damage to it. Electricity surged and leaped forwards towards the enemy, aiming as best any sort of electrical current could.
Ai watched in silence. His Emolga had taken in the surroundings and did well with what it had to get out of the trouble they'd been caused. Now the only thing it had to do was make sure to take his opponent out just as swiftly as they had done their first.

(it's no problem, it's why I just posted again. YOu just continue your attack and defense phase like normal ...though Icicle spear will go on both attack and defense turns until it misses)
(18 - 17 + 10 - 8 = 3dmg) Though if Ai was looking to end the fight with that one move, he was badly mistaken as the electric attack would hit ...as the Vanillite would fizzle and shake with the power though him. It's entire body ...was smoking as it would land on the ground as it settles in the snow trying to cool off it's overheated body quickly.
"Vani ...llite."
Those words were said almost like an accusation as the pokemon would open it's mouth wide, and what came out this time wasn't anything cold at all. Instead it was a spiral of color as the pokemon used Signal Beam to try and literally knock the flying squirrel out of the sky.
[Emolga is on the ground, not in the sky anymore.]
Watching the strange spiral as it formed and locked onto his position. There was no time to avoid it, that he knew, so all Emolga could do was curl up into as small a ball as he could and hope that it missed his tiny form. He had never seen an attack like that before, and didn't know how to properly defend against it or how to avoid it. Instincts simply told him smaller targets were harder to hit. Ai cursed behind clenched teeth as he saw the evident hit coming his way. Emolga had to take it and come back full strength with his next attack or the battle was going to shift far more in the Vanillite's favor that he'd like.

(Sorry about that....I tend to do that quite a bit.)
The spiral of lights would connect against the pokemon's chest as the beam would stop almost as soon as it had begun. It would leave it's mark, as the Vanillite felt a bit more ....satisfied with himself as he starts to float back into the air. Shaking off what little bit of snow had pin it down before ...a laugh on it's face.
Emolga let out a shrill sound as he felt his body sear where it had been hit. Popping its head up from the snow, its eyes revealing its anger, he built up a surge of electricity and shot it forwards towards the creature who floated in the sky while he could only glide. He wanted to see it hit the snow. He'd MAKE it hit the snow. Ai was no longer in control of the battle's outcome or what his Pokemon was doing. Emolga was far too angry at the Vanillite and furious with how far and cold they were from any place he could feel safe.
