"You know, I suspect this would be a lot easier if I knew what houses were, or freeload and job too."
He says it with a sense of long standing patience and irritation. Its apparent that he has had to ask for a lot of things to be explained a whole lot of the time.

Ahsayuni_Kotsei "Pffft, please. I bet they'll let you freeload. Atleast that's what I'm going to try to do until I find a job..." She smiled. 'What an odd inn,' Derek thought, 'to just let people freeload. Ah well, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.' Derek took one brief look around before bolting over to the table and grabbing a loaf of bread off the table. Tearing a piece off of te bread, he turned back to everyone else. At this point, he tried to say something else. With a mouth full of bread, however, this only succeeded in producing inarticulate sounds and bread crumbs that flew over everything in front of him.

Draeken, as before, appeared rather randomly in his cushioned corner. He was already seated with his legs crossed when he appeared and calmly began looking around the room at everyone. There were two more newcomers here that he had not met. It seemed that the Black Company was once again becoming active. "Good evening everyone. Anything happen since I was last here this afternoon?"

Ahsayuni_Kotsei She ducked one of the moistened pieces of bread that flew from his mouth. "Try talking after you swallow," she suggested, stepping back. Derek took a few moments to finish the bite he'd taken. The bread was a bit stale, but after not eating for three days, he thought it was one of the most wonderful things he'd tasted. He just wished that he had something to put on it, but he wasn't going to get greedy. Licking some of the crumbs off of his mouth, he asked the person again, "So, what exactly is this place if it's not a construction company or an inn? At least, I assume it's not an inn, since no self respecting inn would allow so many freeloaders."

J_Soondu Oh not much, two people who apperently think this is some kind of bed and breakfast place cause they're talking about having no money and freeloading... Also one of them seemed to think this was a place caled the 'Blaco company'... So yea not much... Derek, hearing this right after he asked his question, turned and said to the man, "I didn't call it the 'Blaco company. I called it the block company. And, if you look at this note I was given, it's not too far fetched that I'd think that." From his pocked, Derek pulled out the note that had the old man's scrawl on it. Those who had been paying attention earlier might have remembered him tearing it up, but there was no obvious mark of that now, as the paper seemed whole and utterly illegible. Derek also noticed something...odd about this newcomer. He couldn't tell what exactly, but there seemed to be some magic hanging over him.

She looked at the floor, scolding herself for talking out of turn.

Draeken chuckled, his deep voice pleasing to the ear with almost a musical tone to it. "This is indeed not a construction company or an inn. It is a guild. A family of sorts, if you will, though few of us here are related except for children and marriages. And if you wish to have other things to eat that are not stale and filled with whatever you wish, there is a kitchen at your disposal." While this Derek character had said nothing about the bread being stale or wishing for things to put on it, it seemed as if Draeken knew he had thought those things. The look in his eyes was far too knowing for it to be just coincidence.
One skill Draeken had, or rather his ancestor had, was to be able to pick up unguarded thoughts as people thought them. It wasnt mind reading by any stretch of the imagination, but it served well enough sometimes, though he ignored most thoughts.
Looking to Jason then, he nodded. "This place hasnt gotten much more interesting then I guess. We will just have to see what things all the newcomers that are showing up have to offer." He smiled a bit as if he had thought of some sort of joke right after having said that.

Draeken Aakarshan Draeken chuckled, his deep voice pleasing to the ear with almost a musical tone to it. "This is indeed not a construction company or an inn. It is a guild. It wasnt mind reading by any stretch of the imagination, but it served well enough sometimes, though he ignored most thoughts. Derek was mildly curious as to how the man had known he was thinking that, but he forgot that rather quickly for two reasons. First, it could have been fairly obious from his facial expression. Second, there was a KITCHEN! And due to the bite of bread it had received, his stomach was becoming quite insistant that it be remembered and filled. As such, Derek quickly made his way to the kitchen to fix himself something better and more filling to eat. A few moments later, he returned with a sandwich an inch thick with ingredients and several large bites already taken out of it. He still had many questions about this Black Company.

Once again Draeken laughed lightly as Derek went into the kitchen then returned moments later with the rather large sandwich. "Oh, just to warn you, the packets of red liquid in the fridge are not ketchup or hot sauce. Those are the blood packets my family drinks, so if you like ketchup or hot sauce on your sandwiches but taste something metallic, thats what it is." He grinned in spite of himself, because he knew that the man was unlikely to use the blood packets as such. He just wanted to see if the man would give an interesting reaction.

Pausing for a moment, sandwich in hand, Derek looked down at his sandwich. He hadn't put any ketchup or anything on, but still the fact that he could have caused him to stop for a moment. He then looked up at the one who had said this, wondering why he drank blood. Once more, he looked at the sandwich, shrugged the questions in his mind away, and took another bite out of his sandwich.

Other than that its all haze and fog and... nothing." He looks at tad depressed as he spoons in a few more mouthful of soup. "But seriously, what are houses? They sound nice."

A shadowy figure slid out of the darkness of the rafters, hanging onto one of the massive wooden beams with his left gauntlet. There were quite a few new faces, as Draeken had mentioned previously. He began to wonder to which they held alligence. Xol was never a very trusting man and it was indicative of his nature to never truly trust someone unless they had shown the utmost worthiness. These few were no different.
"Once you're done giving the a BC history lesson I need to have a word with you D. You know of what I wish to speak of..." His lips curled into a michievous smirk as he let go of the beam and fell to the ground with a hollow thud.
