Soon as I can fill in those gaps in the heads of the male avatars, I'll wrk on getting them into all the different skin tones. I've got a lovely way of converting them accurately - I've been using it for ages.

Hello everyone,

I recently decided to compose 4 photoshop files with all the poses, skin tones, and views.
:] It's coming along nicely, but I'll need to adjust some poses for skin tones where I don't have them.

I would be happy to share this file with whoever wants/needs it. smile

gonk Yes, do!
And might I suggest we all put the finished poses in the other thread containing original poses?

I'll fork over my tanned girl poses once the profiles are enabled again. Unfortunately, I think my hair will be in the way....

My bear pajamas have the cutest behind, but I wasn't fast enough to save it! crying

All right then -

Converting avatar skin tone in Photoshop, quick-and-dirty instructions:

Step one. Find your totally-blank avatar in the pose you want. Find another avatar in the 'target' skin color.

Step two. Create a new gradient that goes from the darkest shade of the 'target' skin tone to the lightest, by way of the two intermediate shades. Each avatar hould have four different shades - one for regular skin, one for highlights, one for shadows, and one for outlines. The outline is the darkest shade. Save your gradient.

Step three. On your posed avatar, hit Ctrl+Shift+U to turn it back-and-white. Then go 'Auto Levels' or 'Auto Contrast.' Both commands work equally well, and are found in the Image>Adjustments menu.

Step four. Also in the Image>Adjustments menu is a command called 'Gradient Map.' On your posed base, select this command. Pick the gradient you just made from the drop-down list. It probably won't match what you'r looking for exactly, but don't worry! Click on the gradient and move the color sliders around until it looks good. It helps A LOT if your 'reference' avatar AS WELL AS your 'work' avatar are not hidden by either window, so move them so you can see!

Tip. It helps if you can somehow manage to obtain a piece of an avatar in the position AND skin tone you want, like, for example, a smallish section of back. Paste this small piece onto a layer above the grayscale avatar before you use Gradient Map. That way, you can more easily match the colors.
