Little White Wings I don't really see alot of flute forum around here.This is my first year to be in a band and tecnically i play a beginner flute.It is hard playing a flute I have to blow really high.man sometime its so hard to play the flute that I ran out of breath too easily.In my school flute have to play first.My teacher says that last year band only have 11 student.I felt so srry for them. I'm pretty sure everyone is like that when they first start. It took me three hours just to make my first sound. xD But then I practiced for at least four hours a day for my first two years of band. I love the flute. The piccolo, however, can just die. >_< *is bitter*

Flute section rules! lol! I love the fact that you can go hug random flute band members from another band that you don't know and it is all okay as long as you say "I am a flute too." I did that once to this members of this really awesome band that was just awesome!

are there any guy flute players here??? heart heart heart i play my flute for concert, and jazz heart heart heart and every one i concert thinks i'm sweatdrop crazzy sweatdrop for it but i love my flute i'm not planing on dropping it any time soon!!! rofl rofl rofl

sweatdrop once i thought i would play a wrong note in band sweatdrop just so my instructer would stop and tune us 3nodding 3nodding it is soooooooooooo much ffffffffffuuuuuuuuunnnnn!!!!!!!!!!! heart heart heart heart heart heart to get atention from the rest of the band redface redface

musicmaker01 spots0123 I love flute so much. I'm not very good at tuning during band class yet tho... does any one have any tips on staying in tune? please dont think im stupid or anything, its just hard for me to tell if i'm in tune with the section leader...I don't know why... So get your own tuner. Eventually you will learn exactly where to set your flute so it will be in tune all the time. Good luck to you! my flute is all most all ways in tune but i had to mark it whith a pencil during the winter because i left it at school and our band room is cold at night. but after a while you get an eye for where your flute should be!! 3nodding

any1 ever dropped their flute off a moving truck before?
My friend pushed mine off the truck when we were on a parade
It has a HUGE dent in it
i fixed it
but it was sooo funny because we had to jump off, get my flute, then run after the truck and climb back on
people thought i was all part of the show!

WOW!! tough luck.
Has anyone lost part of their flute in a concert?
My friend was playing and we were waitng to play we had 2 measures to go and she held her flute by the neck and she sneezed and the end flew off into the crowd. We had to stop becuase she had a solo and she couldn't play with 2/3 of a flute.

that really sucks! i was at flute masterclass and we in a really cold church when part of the teacher's flute fell off. it was $10,000 flute!
