"Konoe!" Reia screamed at him. "Please, I just want to help.. don't leave me..." She begged. "Please..."
She saw him turn and watch she and Echo for a moment. "Echo." The copy looked at her questioningly. "Please. Hold onto this sword for a moment. Typhon seems to be getting angrier by the minute, and I really can't have that right now. Be sure to hold him tightly, and remember, don't drop him!"
Echo nodded at her and reached out for the pieces. Reia gave them to her gratefully, and flew off to catch up with Konoe. "Please, Konoe, wait!"

Konoe watched Reia come ever closer to him, but with worry present in his gaze upon her. He floated down and sat on the ground. He felt the darkness clawing inside his mind, trying to gain a stronger hold on him. He didn't know why it was taking longer than usual for it to gain control, but he suspected that it had been significantly weakened by the earlier attacks or it had evolved in some way, "..."

Reia sighed with relief as she watched Konoe float down to the ground, staying where he was. "Thank you..." Reia thought to the gods and she floated down next to him. Lightly she touched his head. "Konoe... listen to me... I'm going to perform that seal, whether you like it or not." She moved his face so that he would look directly in her eyes. "Got it?"
Echo watched their encounter from a distance and moved closer. Interest was in her gaze and quietly, she moved towards the two, trying not to interrupt.

Konoe tried to speak, but the words he wanted to say refused to come forth. Then he tried to move, but even that couldn't be done. The eye that was floating next to him turned its attention directly on Reia, and slowly a black hand emerged from it.

Reia murmured a spell to deflect the hand, light seemed to pour forth from her hands, creating soft tendrils around her and Konoe. She needed a barrier to perform the spell. Echo... She thought to her copy. I'll need you to take care of the hands for me... I'll be performing the spell on Konoe now.
Echo nodded her understanding and she watched the eye with unease. The hand was reaching towards the wall of light Reia had brought up, but it could not pass. Echo smiled when she saw that the barrier would hold and she said, "Hey... weren't you looking for me?"

The hand stopped. The light coming from the barrier seemed to hurt it and it backed off. Then it targeted Echo and tried to get her instead. Konoe could see nothing but a swirl of light and darkness, the two clashed against each other. He felt a pressure against himself, which in turn gradually made him feel like his skin was burning.

Reia smiled in satisfaction as her barrier held. It's a good thing that I read up so much on white magic... She watched Konoe with caring eyes. "I'll make sure this never happens again..." She said, determined. Slowly, Reia murmured the words she knew by heart, her voice low. A seal of light made itself shown on Konoe's bare chest. It swirled in an intricate design, and she continued to say the words.
Echo placed the sword that held Typhon's spirit beside her on the ground and she watched the hand reach toward her. She delved deep into Reia's mind, searching for a spell that would counter the dark hand. Echo frowned.

Tiny black veins appeared across Konoe's chest in an attempt to stop Reia's efforts, but the light from the seal made them melt when they got too close.
The hand moved in more quickly towards Echo, and then produced another hand that aimed for the sword pieces. The sword glowed and the end pointed upward as if challenging the hand that was coming after it.

Echo sighed, glad that the sword could in some ways, protect itself. She turned her attentions to the hand that was moving straight towards her. Echo murmured a few syllables, and those certain words used together created a lasso made of light. Immediately, Echo used it to bring the two hands together, tying them without a sound. "That should hold them for awhile..." Echo said calmly, looking at Typhon's sword with interest.
Reia was slightly nervous when she noted the tendrils of black trying to attack the seal, but when they melted, she continued the spell, happy for the encouragement. She began to grow weary, and the wind lent her it's strength.

The two hands melted around the point of contact with the lasso, and the rest of the arms followed. The eye drifted down, nearly touching the ground. One of the pieces of the sword attempted to approach the eye, appearing as though someone was dragging it across the ground slowly. Then when it distanced itself from the other half, it ceased moving.
Konoe could feel himself converting over to the darkness. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them he saw Reia and reached out for her, and then his hands dropped to his sides. The light hurt him and drained his energy. He turned his gaze to the eye outside the barrier, and it seemed to be feeling the effects of the seal as well.

Reia frowned at Konoe's movement, it only made it much harder for her to concentrate. Come on Konoe, do not give up on me now... She could feel a tear sliding down her face, but she did nothing to remove it. Instead, she continued chanting the spell, the wind doing it's best to strengthen her efforts. Reia was weakening, but she refused to give up. The light from the seal was swirling down Konoe's arms, across his chest, up to his face. Hopefully, it would soon be complete.
Echo watched the sword move towards the eye, and she realized what it wanted, and expected, to do. I see now... Typhon... he is part of the sword... She hadn't quite grasped that fact while watching it move, and hearing it 'talk' through Reia's ears. Silently, she walked to the sword, picking up the hilt end, and moving it closer to the other piece that had moved.

Konoe gasped, his eyes were starting to change back to their normal coloration and the veins which had appeared started to recede. He started to tremble from having a difficult time pulling the strength to keep himself in his sitting position.
The tip of the sword once again lifted itself up and moved towards the eye, which had turned into a blackened globe with the red eye swimming inside of it. Both of the pieces of the sword started to glow in a faint blue.

Echo had the sudden inspiration to place the two pieces of sword together, fitting them together like a puzzle.
Reia gasped for air. The seal was completed and she shuddered. The wind cooed it's pride in her air and Reia smiled at it. Slowly, the barrier faded as Reia fell slowly into a small heap. "Konoe..."

The sword glowed even brighter and vibrated within Echo's grasp, then it whipped out of her hands and flung itself towards the eye, impaling the upper portion of the globe. Then the sword burst into bright blue flames which instantly started to melt the globe. When the flames died out, there was no trace of the globe and the two pieces collapsed onto the ground as if it were a normal broken sword. It had appeared as though Typhon's spirit was appeased over the victory.
Konoe stopped struggling and fell sideways to the ground. He breathed unsteadily and kept his eyes on Reia. He moved his hand towards hers, and held it in his own. He whispered faintly, "Please be okay..Reia.."
