I hate Mondays too! blaugh Actually, I just have more homework than I can possibly get done, so I'm not looking forward to showing up for class unprepared. sweatdrop
Kenny, you could always ask about the hours for the management position. You seem to be cut out for managing stuff. I mean, you manage people on Gaia everyday. I wonder if you could put that on your resume/application. confused

He probably could. If he gets paid for it then he could present it as a job. If not then it's all volunteer work, which always looks good.
I'm glad I rarely have to present a resume in my line of work. I had to give one when I applied with Habitat For Humanity (and the lady who hired me was very impressed with it). But between that I've worked for three people, and each of them was from "Hey you need work? Call this guy." then I'd have a quick meeting with them, and that's that.

Yeah, I dunno, the position isn't open yet anyway so I've got time to think about it. And I dunno about Gaia, I could mention it but it'd be interesting to explain.

Just tell them that you're a moderator on a very large message board site. That would be a nice way to explain it. biggrin
How do you know that there is going to be a position open if it hasn't been posted yet? Is someone transferring?

Yeah, the manager who suggested I apply I believe is transferring some time later this year. I'm not for sure though.

Admiral Skippy I was talking about D&D in my interview for Habitat. xD You talked about D&D in a job interview? eek How did that work? Did you demonstrate your leadership ability by telling them that you're a dungeon master or something? blaugh Now that I think about it, that isn't much better than saying that you are a mod on Gaia. sweatdrop

My dad's a ******** douche/a**/b*****d.
So two weeks ago someone hit me in the rear. The other party's insurance and her admitted fault blah, so I'm working with their insurance to work out my repairs.
She tells me the shop in a location near me only does the vehicle inspections on Thursdays. So I tell my dad and he yells at me, "Tell her MAKE IT ON SATURDAY." So I ask, what if there are no open appointments on this Saturday? "WELL WHY NOT?! TELL HER MAKE IT SATURDAY! What kind of company has shops that are only able to do inspections one day. Ask if her if she's just stringing you along and stalling!"
... shops that aren't OWNED by an Insurance company perhaps??
He acts like this: I'm just going to yell at a nurse/secretary because she can't fit in an appointment to the doctor on such and such day and DEMAND IT!
He's a ******** a**. He does this to the telemarketers too. I called him out on it for being an a*****e b*****d. >_> Treating people like an a** "TO MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT" right.

That's not any good. xp I will admit that it is odd that the shop only does vehicle inspections on Thursdays, but getting mad about it won't change their policy. I'm sad to say, my dad has a similar attitude. He called so many people, complained so much, and made so many threats during my student teaching (though I told him to back off), that none of the faculty on campus was aloud to speak with me, and I was guaranteed to fail. xp In addition, he had made such a butt of himself with the administration that after I dropped out of my student teaching, I didn't dare stay on campus. That college was really small, and I would be running into the people had bad mouthed on a daily basis. I didn't have the heard to be seen in front of so many people who once respected and and admired me, but now think of me as a whiny brat who had her dad fight her battles. And I didn't even want him involved in any of it! gonk
I feel for you Kage. *hugs*

Ohman guys. I feel you. gonk heart
My dad's troublesome like that too. But in the way that if someone calls and he doesn't know the number, he doesn't pick up. When things don't go his way, he'll just get pissed, give up and not think about what s**t's going to get thrown his way because of that decision.
Case in point: A while back my dad got a new boss who had no idea what he was doing. My dad and his coworkers hated him, but no one really confronted him about it. 'Cause y'know, it's not proper. But my dad goes up to him one day and pretty much calls out on his attitude . Obviously the boss gets pissed and begins to load work on him so he either gets fired or quits.
In the end my dad quits without planning to look for another job or anything. Common sense tells you to look for a job before you quit your current one. Nope.
He's still somewhat unemployed now, and the funny thing is, he still thinks that the company is doomed to fail without him.
The other day I had a discussion with him about printer quality, in which he had no idea we were talking about the same thing until my mom couldn't take it anymore and told him, "You know you're both talking about the same thing, right?"
I didn't say anything because I wanted my mom to see how frustrating it is to be around him, lol.
I think it's old age. He's bitched out people, forgotten simple things, causing pointless arguments, insulted his boss, gotten into a fight in a supermarket with a guy who didn't line up...
He threatened to move out the day before yesterday. My mom called his bluff, saying that he wouldn't be able to even pay rent for a year before he runs out of money.
I don't think he realizes yet that the reason I don't get my driver's license is because of him.
@Kage: But telemarketers in general piss me off. So being an a** to them is right in my books. Especially when they're an a** first by calling me when I'm on a "No Call List" in the first place.

I'm pretty sure that the No Call List is a scam. I'm the only one in the family who didn't sign up for it, and I'm the only one who is spared annoying phone calls. But I don't hate telemarketers or anything. I mean, it's just their job. Although, I'm not particularly fond of what they do for a living. sweatdrop
It seems like all of dads can be jerks sometimes. You just reminded me of something else that happened with my dad. We were at the grocery store and they at a trainee working one of the registers, and that trainee was taking a long time and needed alot of help. My dad didn't like the wait, so he went up to the manager and told him that he would never come back to that grocery store ever again. So now, he goes to the other grocery store and curses the old one. xp

Well there are some marketers I have no qualms with being an a** to once they've been an a** to me either. No means no. Period.
Also, don't ******** pull the age card with me once i SAY UNAVAILABLE just because you think I'm not an adult. ******** you then.
I still hate that lady who called for grandpa saying she couldn't send the information by mail. Wtf.

That sounds pretty odd. Most of the phone calls we get are recordings about saving money on our auto insurance. Sometimes, we get calls from Relay for Life, Special Olympics, and my parents' old college asking for donations.

My dad and I get along pretty well actually. Especially since I've started doing the work I do. I can have a conversation with him about work and we can share stories and whatnot. I'm quite a bit like him, so most of the time if I'm going to knock my dad I'll be knocking myself too. xP Except that I'm not as much of a hypocrite as he is. He got mad at me the other day because the vacuum hose had been left out for a week. Now he always gets mad at us (me and my siblings) and blames the mess in the house on that (it's a combined effort). Now the conversation went like this:
Dad: Pick up that damn hose and put it away. I've been tripping on it all week. Me: Well who vacuumed? because I didn't. Dad: I know you didn't. Mom did on Tuesday, and I've been tripping on it since.
I was tempted to say "So mom vacuumed, and didn't put away the hose. And instead of picking it up when you tripped on it the first time, you left it for the week. And now you're having me deal with it? And the mess in the house is all my fault how?" But better judgment kicked in and I just put the hose away.

Since the Official Halloween Event started, I've got to ask it: What side did you join? Did you get any prizes yet? What are your thoughts on the skins that you get at the end of the event?
